Fatcat Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Eric himself has stated that he has compulsive obsessive disorder like Jack Nicholson in "As good as it Gets" Me thinks he likes to compare himself to that movie and character, yes and I too think if any one need meds it is Eric, he talks incessantly and he really rags about some of the former guests, and by far has a much fouler mouth than ED. I go back and forth about whether I like him or not or whether I want him there in the end, he has won 30 or 40 grand, with our help by the way, I am torn about him. It is strange that all the abuse shelter people are crawling out of the woodwork about ol ED, BB is not a Sunday School Picnic, it is a game of lying, chreating to further yourself in the game to win the 500 grand in the end, it is about the 'Almighty Dollar", and they say that money is the root of all evil. So as to whether ED should be medicated, I think not, I think he has a flip side that is a good side, I do not like his nasty spitting, and farting, burping, etc, but I do not find him that threatening. I think if he was a real threat they would have not had him on the show. Daniele does not act to me like she is a girl who is down trodden from years of abuse or has any syndrome except the 21 year old syndrome, and really she shows a lot more good thinking than some her age, Jessica has sat on her butt for the entire game, does very little cooking or cleaning up, is all up for it if it involves drinking and pretty much has floated her way thru, with Erics help, if he had not fallen for her, she may very well be gone. Hard to figure out what can be accomplished here...ppl who think Dick is dangerous, especially the professionals who work with victims of abuse, will continue to think that. JFetch Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 My question is this: Does CBS have a responsiblity to those within the house (including employees) and to young, impressionable viewers who might be watching the program to screen out those like Dick from this show, or do we as individuals shoulder the blame for continuing to support the show and those advertisers that spend money with the show? The short answer is no. The people were screened as you said, and they found nothing wrong with any of them. Also everyone was told what could happen, and they still went through with it. The same goes for the employees. Big Brother is not aimed at kids, and Showtoo is obviously not for kids. That's the parents responsibility to do some parenting and decide what their kid can handle. If we need to shoulder any blame, then that would mean there is something wrong. There isn't, and we don't. I think there are other people that were put in the house that were not equipped to handle it. I am more worried about their safety by their own hand than anything Dick ever did. And what porn?? I didn't see anything, and I watch the after dark, but last night my dvr was totally messed up. I think the objections have been more about the actual idea of having a thread about...Dick: who likes him, who thinks he's dangerous, etc. Because no other topic has been discussed--and discussed again--like this one. Yes a Californication looks pretty funny, haven't watched it yet, prolly after BB. It's soft core stuff, and you never see anything on the males but their butt. For some reason even on pay cable, full female nudity = ok to show, and male swinging parts = taboo.
