It could have been an image of himself he was trying to project for strategic purposes early in the game or maybe genuine concern for his job/school/students. Later he got relaxed and let things slip. We see the contradictory behavior and call him (or any of the others as the case may be) out on it. I don't believe for 1 second that Dan is as pure as he appears. I sometimes think he's naive...and other times think he's pretty smart and savvy....which is the real Dan? Somewhere in the middle I'd expect. It is a game and they are trying to manipulate others to get to the grand prize...does playing the game and deceiving us and other hgs make him a hypocrite...not to me. I don't see rules of living an honest respectable life outside of the BB house applying to living within the house since it is a game. Hmmm....I agree with you to a degree. I believe the game does change in some way after you leave the house - whether it's being a nicer person or a total jerk or viewing things differently. And yet he has no qualms doing "BB porn" with April on the feeds. Next to Ollie, Dan is still much higher in my book. My appreciation for him has nothing to do with his religion, but rather... 1) He started off trying to play strong, but with Ollie's betrayal and watching Brian go home... he changed his gameplay enough to appear weaker than he is. 2) He made good contacts during his strategic floating period and made sure everyone liked him (for the most part). 3) He made the best of AP and was able to turn it to his advantage. 4) At the right moment, he decided to stop playing "weak" and kicked it up and started winning competitions. 5) Unlike Eric (who was also AP) he actually DID win competitions and made deals that he needed to make to keep control of the game and keep his alliance (that he trusts) safe. 6) He's willing to turn on a deal if necessary to win the game. No risk, no reward. It might work, it might not. At least I know he tried to strategized and worked hard to put it into motion. THIS is why I like him and his game play. We all wanted him to step it up... he did. So those who are frustrated that their favorite might go home at his hand... tough. Only two people make it to the end of the game and only one of those wins the big money. I'm still rooting for Dan. Okay... one thing I would question... why do you say that he got offended at what Jerry said? He said that he understood why Jerry said it. He said it was just a game. The only thing he did say was that Jerry gave him "this much" reason to put him up. He even said he forgave Jerry. How is that taking offense at Jerry calling him out? I too am strong in my Catholic faith, and FAR FROM PERFECT, hell I even skipped church today cause I don't want to miss POV outcome.... (I do have a thing with the word "excuses"... not because of anybody here, but because my EX-husband just loved saying that anybody who did anything that went against what he said and gave reasons that differed from his... they were excuses and not reasons... so the word "excuses" is a hot button for me. Especially after Jerry went back on his word and tried to sweep over that by not wearing A HAT. (my problem with that little episode was that Jerry sooo rehearsed that little speech - so, it wasn't anything said at the heat of the moment. It was well thought out) I wasn't too happy with Dan's NOMS at first.... but at least we're getting to watch some scrambling and game play this week Kudos to Dan if he pulls off his original game plan <--- perfect Catholic...
