    Page Management

The page management module interface has many powerful tools built in, designed to help you work with pages and folders in IP.Content efficiently. Firstly, the folder navigation utilizes AJAX to load the folder contents inline without requiring you to visit a new page to view the contents of the folder. We have also updated some common management features to utilize AJAX to help facilitate management of your pages. Actions like clearing folders and deleting folders, for instance, will now occur without page refreshes, making your managerial activities flow smoother and quicker. Additionally, the interface as a whole has been updated to provide a nicer, smoother feel for the page management areas. In practice, we found that many administrators spend the majority of their time setting up and utilizing IP.Content in the page management areas, so we wanted to update the user interface to make this experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. Minor details like confirmation dialogs have been updated to bring everything together for a more consistent feel. A new filter bar, utilizing AJAX to retrieve the results without the need for a page refresh, has also been added to the page management area. You can begin typing in the name of a page and a live-search action will occur in the background, showing you the results of your search as you type. If you have many pages and many folders (and many pages within those many folders), you will find that using the filter bar to locate your pages can dramatically speed up your navigation of IP.Content within the page management areas of the ACP. Overall, we've modernized the IP.Content page management area of the ACP, polishing up the little details, in an effort to make your experience all the more pleasant.
  2. IP.Content allows you to promote posts from your forums to articles in the IP.Content Articles database. The administrator can configure the specifics of this feature in the ACP under My Apps -> IP.Content -> Promote Article Settings. You can turn the system on and off, control which groups can copy and move posts to the articles section, and specify a few other details for the feature. A new hook is included with IP.Content which adds a button to each post labeled "Promote to Article". This button only shows up if you have permission to use the feature based on the ACP configuration. When clicked, the button will take you to a new form where you can formalize the details of the new article. You can tweak the text and title, upload an image, and specify other pertinent details. If you are able to both move and copy posts to the articles section, you will also be asked which type of promotion you wish to use. Upon submitting the form, IP.Content handles the rest. This new feature can be used to showcase important content otherwise hidden in your forums by pushing this content to your frontpage. It is then up to you whether you want a copy made in the articles section (leaving the original post in tact), whether you want to actually move the post to the articles section, and whether you want any cross-linking left in place. With such powerful options, we are sure you will find many uses for this great tool available in IP.Content.
  3. In the IP.Content ACP, you will notice that there are 3 separate template sections of the ACP: Block Templates Page Templates Database Templates Article Templates Within each templates section, you can create containers to group your templates into logical groupings. For instance, you may wish to create a grouping for each database you create, and then place the database templates appropriately into the container representing the database itself. Or you may wish to create multiple front page templates, and group them all together in the article templates area. You can use containers for whatever purposes you may have, or not at all: it's up to you! Templates can be reordered by dragging and dropping the rows up and down, and they can be moved from one container to another via drag n drop as well. Certain meta data about the templates are stored when you create new database or article templates, allowing IP.Content to tailor other areas of the ACP to help you out. For example, the software stores the template type when you create a new template. This allows us to show only "category listing" templates in the "category listing template" selection dropdowns. Similarly, the template tag help panel can automatically know which template type you are editing without you having to specify. Properly making use of templates can help you push out pages on your site in a uniform manner quickly and easily, and without having to "reinvent the wheel" each time a new page is ready to be published.

  6. Even I can't add to your ignore list. If I could, there are some people around here whose ignore lists would be, shall we say, "tweaked."
  7. Hi S.P.,

Always good to see you on the board. Thanks for your many years of support.

  8. LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A hospital spokeswoman says "Desperate Housewives" actor Gale Harold is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident. USC Medical Center spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda said Harold was awaiting further tests. Publicist Nancy Seltzer said Wednesday that Harold fractured his shoulder, and "Housewives" creator and executive producer Marc Cherry said he apparently has swelling on the brain but was expected to recover. Harold plays Jackson, the boyfriend of Terri Hatcher's character, who plays a pivotal role in the fifth season's eighth episode. Cherry said Harold was scheduled to be on set before the Tuesday accident, which was first reported by TMZ. Selzer said no one else was injured.
  9. Just a note (although off-topic) to let you know the web site was not suspended due to non-payment. The hosting company we use has an automated system to shut down sites the appear to be getting attacked (DOS), and they use the same screen for sites that go over their bandwidth limit, we have no limit on bandwidth, but their security system gets foiled by our crazy amount of traffic. The problem should be corrected within 12 hours.
  10. Come on, give us a photo.

  11. When the chat rooms re-open tonight, you'll notice we have new room names based on the shows we chat about. You'll still enter through the Lobby, and you can still open your own room for off-topic conversations. We're supposed to have a more accurate display of "Who's in Chat" (chatter's names) so you can look for your friends without entering. The regular, rarley accurate display, remains at the bottom of the forum index. So far, the new display is only on the main chat page at: TV Chat This new fature hasn't been tested yet, if it works I'll add it to the forum page too. Another feature change you may notice is that if you don't say anything for 15 minutes, you'll be logged out. This is automatic, not a moderator option. Here's our chat schedule: Monday: The Apprentice Tuesday: Idol Chatter Wednesday: The Amazing Race / More Idol Chatter / Then Get Lost Thursday: Survivor Friday, Saturday & Sunday: Beyond Reality Weekends. Watch Desperate Housewives with other fans, Dish the Decorators on Trading Spaces and Extreme Makeover Just a reminder, if you use our chat annex, the folks at Chatway have their own moderators, and I agreed to consider all their descions as final.
  12. We've got an upgrade to our chat system and some new features: o Avatar Support o Avatar Library o Recent Room History o Expandable User/Room List o Removable Toolbar o Who's Typing Notification o Status Selector/Away Message o Double-byte Character Support o Supports Java 1.1 to Java 1.5 o Clear Text from Chat Window Option o Expanded Emoticon Library o Expanded Sounds Library o Message Separator Option The avatar feature doesn't let you use your board icon, or upload your own, but you can pick a picture to represent yourself, which I think is nice. There's some new sounds to mess around with, but I think the best thing about this upgrade is that you don't need to learn anything, you can just go about chatting as you had in the past. Have Fun! -M
  13. Salter-Path is Back! And so is her Daily Dish.
  14. I built this site on a foundation of useless TV facts. I posted my Fun Facts pages back in 1997, and now they have a fresh, new, companion page by our Daily Dish columnist, Salter-Path. Just like the original, Salter's TV Wisdom if full of information you'll never need to know unless you're on a quiz show. Check out Salter's TV Wisdom!
  15. I've been told to keep quiet about this because salter doesn't like it when people make a fuss about her, but tough! Besides writing "The Daily Dish" salter-path, is also a Red Cross grief counselor and was dispatched to New Orleans where her skills are needed by the victims of hurricane Katrina. Salter may be too modest to tell you about the wonderful work she does, but I'm very proud that someone like Salter will share some of her time on my web site. Salter was gone for a few weeks to work in New Orleans If you've missed her Daily Dish column, she's back and you should check it out, daily. If you would like to help Salter, and the thousands of other volunteers that come to the aid of those in need, please click here to donate to The American Red Cross. If you would like to donate to the American Red Cross directly via phone, please contact 1-800 HELP NOW (1-800-435-7669). -M
  16. I gotta get in on this too. This was an incredible season. We had over 300 posters help with the daily updates, and we're over 4,700 members. We had a few fights and gripes, but in all of MortysTV.com history, we've never had so many people pitching in and doing the best job on the internet. Thanks! -Morty
  17. My source was a public statement made by Shapiro after the event. I suspect your facts are correct, and that we were given the happy CBS spin version. I think you'll agree, Shapiro isn't always the best source for the facts. BTW, Welcome back to you too. It's just like old times with you posting again.
  18. I don't know why this bugs me so much, but it drives me crazy that the facts about Scott Weintraub are always misstated. After throwing the chairs around the room BB called him to the DR and he refused the first couple of demands. They asked him what he thought he was doing and he said he was "just blowing off some steam." Shapiro was called in and said something to effect, "You seem to be having trouble adapting to the environment. If we put you back in the house do you think you'll be able to stand the pressure and function in the game?" Scott said "No." He left by his own choice. He was never "thrown out." I don't know enough about about the Eric / Michael matter to comment, however, if Eric was called to the DR, and if Shapiro was called in, it's very possible the matter was handled the same way, and Eric promised he could deal with the pressure. But for the last time: Scott Weintraub was never thrown out of the BB house.
  19. You can't watch our Windows media on RealPlayer, I know it's a hassle, but you need Windows Media Player. Disregard the advice about the "More Reliable" setting, that's for making captures from RealPlayer. Follow the instructions in http://www.mortystv.com/help_with_media.shtml
  20. I think the pets have been dull. I'd like to see the pool filled with crocodiles.
  21. Hmmm, Good work. I'll be cutting and pasting from that for a while.
