  1. I think it was a pretty good season. A B overall. I know a lot of folks have really been hard on BBC production, but I will like for everyone to think about the first season of BBUS. It was a lot of productions problems back then too. Here are the things I would change. At the final POV, there is no need for a POV ceremony. It's stupid for the POV winner to give the nominees a chance to beg for him to take them off the block. The POV winner is not going to take one person down and be the replacement nominee. Just go straight to the eviction ceremony. Increase the prize money. I hated the moose ideal after the first event. Once the first person announces that they had a challenge and they had to get the whole house to participate to win the challenge, I am pretty sure all the HG know to participate in all future dumb ideals that the other HG wants them to participate in. I am pretty sure everyone knew that Talia's talkshow was a challenge. Peter's challenge was the only worthwhile moose challenge. They should never pull a stunt on a house guest like the one they pulled on Topaz. Thirty minute HOH, fine. But broadcasting it to the rest of the house without the person knowing is just wrong. Aneel, got screwed. At the very least they should always give a nominee at least 1 hour to campaign for themselves except for double eviction nights where you get about 5 minutes. But, on DE, both nominees are put up at the same time. Aneel never had a chance.
  2. Peter may be a genius and he may do well on Jeopardy. But when it comes to reality game shows, he sucks. He could play BB 10 times and he would never win. He believes that he is such a genius, therefore he can talk people into doing what he wants them to do. Did he really believe he could talk Emmitt into eventually voting out the vajajay that he has kissed, slept with and felt up for the entire show and take him to the final two? Peter was not a smart player and will not be remembered 2 seasons from now. He is just another player in a very long list of players that played the game in their own fantasy world.
  3. I agree with you. Frankly, I haven't been very impressed with the decision making of the Shield. They looked strong early on in the game but starting with Topaz winning HOH, they went down hill, mainly because of Alec. Someone said that their alliance began to fall apart when Topaz stepped off the ice, but in actuality, it fell apart when Alec voted to keep Andrew.
  4. I don't see how you can place blame on Topaz for something she knew nothing about and had no expectations that it would happen. She was called to the HOH for a private conversation with the host. If the conversation was going to be made public knowledge, they could have sent her to the living room with everyone else. Privacy is expected in the HOH room. That is why everyone goes there to discuss strategy. Maybe to even things out, they should play every ones private HOH strategy conversations from the past so that everyone will know where each person stands. Quatro and the Shield can be exposed. Then that would be fair and no one would have any expectation of any privacy. I stand by my original assertion that that portion of the twist was BS and in my opinion, totally out of bounds. The only way she stays this week is if BB influences the other players so that BB don't look like they deliberately sabotaged Topaz. .
  5. I think the Jen meltdown was much better. Frankly, I thought Gary was faking. I think it was a plan. I could be wrong, but who will put him on slop from now on for fear that he will have a melt down.
  6. I think what happened with Topaz was total BS. I liked the instant eviction. Nice play, although I would rather they had allowed her to get her letter from home and have her room fixed up an then do the instant eviction. Maybe give her three hours as HOH. But the way they did the open mic with the rest of the house watching was guaranteed to screw the HOH over. The mindset of the HOH is that they are in private and the only people that can hear them is the audience. Remember, since they are on a TV show, they are encouraged to tell their thoughts. Topaz thought she was giving her thoughts the same as you would do in the diary room. Imagine what would happen if they showed the house all of the diary room interviews. I don't think this was a plan to specifically screw Topaz, but no matter who the HOH was, they were going to end up getting screwed because every player would have did the same thing and talked their way through the decision for the purpose of TV. It was total BS.
  7. I am definitely against the idea of allowing people to watch the show and then vote. Part of the game is the idea that the jury can vote based on any method they choose. They can vote on game play, emotion, alliance or flip a coin. The players know that it's part of the process and they have to govern their play accordingly. I wanted Dan to win this season but due to the different dynamics of the game, he became the player that had to get the blood on his hands. There are one or two folks who vote emotionally in every season, in this season there were four or five. That's the chance players take. That's the hand Dan was dealt and he did his best to deal with it. His strategy did get him to the final two, after deing pretty much out the door at number 8. I think Dan was by far the best player but the majority of the jury was bitter. That's no reason to make radical changes to the voting process though. That's just the dynamics of the game. Change one or two things, and the whole game would have been different. If you change the voting process and allow people to watch the show before voting, it would only be a matter of time before the best player gets screwed because of something they said in secret to one player or during a DR session. That's why they change the voting after BB3.
  8. If 15 people call it a game, but 1 person calls it real life...I would think that it was the "one" that had the problem and maybe should not play the game anymore. If people are going to take such a righteous stance on the bible, I would remind them that the commandment is "thou shall not lie" not "I shall not lie when I put my hand on the bible". All lying is a sin, therefore, since every last one of the "players" lied, they are all equally guilty.
  9. It is easy to see how Frank won. If you split the house in two, which is the way I believe most most viewers saw things. On one side you have the 5 quack packers along with Janelle and you have all the rest on the other side. Dan and Ian was the most popular and took a lot of votes from the other QP'ers. Therefore you had the third most popular person from the QP side in the competition for AP. Probably was Brittney. I believe Frank was clearly the most popular from the other half of the house. He probably finished third in the overall voting but since Ian and Dan took so many votes, that put him ahead of Brit. I would love to see the vote totals. No matter how he won though, congratulations.
  10. Danielle must have dropped the leash for a few minutes, so he didn't know what the hell to do then.
  11. I was really surprised at how bitter the jury was also. They sounded like they thought that they were supposed to be allowed to cruise through the game just because they were there. BB needs to do something about the final comp questions. Those are just dumb. The Brittany question about bartering cigarettes was just stupid. Why would a coach be embarrassed by that. A coach would be proud of his player bartering cigarettes for a vote. That would mean that player is willing to do whatever it takes to stay. Just a dumb ass question. .
  12. Congratulations to Ian on the win. I didn't want him to win, but he did a good job overall. I was surprised at how bitter most of the jury was after this much time. Even after they played the game, I am not sure some of them understood the concept of the game. Everybody could not win.
  13. I am not sure where you get that ideal from. It may be shunned in t-ball, but from high school on up, players talk a lot of smack. Coaches use any derogatory words of their opponents to motivate their own players. They put up huge banners in their locker rooms so that their players will see what their opponents have said about them. I am not sure of what you know about "the real sports world".
  14. True, but basically everything he has told her as far as getting her further in the game has worked. Since the funeral, no has even thought about putting her up, except for him. And, he is extremely good at explaining why everything he's done has been in her best interest. If you think back to the week when she was the last one on Dan's team and on the block, Dan told her she was on her own and made her go out and try to find the votes to stay. Then he explained why he did it and they stayed. Since then, she knows that Dan has been carrying her.
  15. She really has no choice but to trust him. She can't play for the HOH, so she has nothing to offer Ian and she can't take a chance on trying to throw Dan under the bus to Ian, because he might tell Dan. Then she would have no chance of making the f2.
  16. This is my take on Danielle's so called bullying. This is a plan of Dan's. This is a mental game used by athletes to get into the other person's head. The idea is to distract the other player into thinking about others things so that they will make mistake during the actual competition. For every second Ian spends thinking about Danielle attacking him and whether she will have a chance to influence the jury, that is a second that he will not spend concentrating and preparing for the next competition. If Danielle can get Ian flustered enough, he may make mistakes in the final comp that he normally would not make. That improves Dan's chances of winning and improves Danielle's chances of going to the F2. Now that the seed has been planted, I would not be surprised to see another attack 1 to 2 hours before the last comp. Dan is a coach and I expect Dan to try to get every advantage he can going into the final comp. They need to break Ian's "focus". Since Ian will probably take Dan to the f2 and Dan will probably take Danielle, Danielle has nothing to lose and she needs to go for it. She needs to keep him as distracted as possible. Ian needs to recognize that there's nothing that Danielle can do to him and just not worry about it. He needs to stay "focused". Evil Dick was a fan favorite on this site and he spent a whole season bulling and brow-beating other contestants, especially Jen.
  17. If Dan stays in coaching, next year, I bet he will be a head coach at a bigger school than he's at now. After this season of BB, Dan will be a major fan draw for any school. Many fans will come to games because they love and respect Dan. Others will come because they hate him and will be there just to see him lose. But the key for the schools is, they will all be paying customers. Excellent post. The way I see it, if you are not doing everything you can to win, then you get to watch the winner collect the check.
  18. The problem for Danielle is she will have to offer up her resume. Against Dan, her resume is really thin. She won some comps, but what did she do with her wins. Her biggest move will be to say I used my POV on Dan, so that Dan could pull the trigger on my shomance. Dan will be able to talk alll night about the work he put in to win the game. Not only will Dan be viewed as the brains behind the operation, he will be viewed as the muscle, the blue collar worker, the guy that got up every morning and went to work. He was the guy that made the plans and then did the heavy lifting and got his hands bloody. And, in the end, I think Dan will be able to explain his every move. People may be mad, but they will give him respect and their vote. Against Dan, Danielle will always be viewed as the student or follower. The one time she had the chance to lead, she passed it off to Dan. So unless she can find enough bitter votes and players voting for their friend and voting against Dan because he has won before, Dan wins. I would predict 6-1. Her only vote being Shane. Frank and a number of the other people may be mad, but in the end they will vote for Dan. I look at it like a political election. The incumbent always loses against the unnamed generic opponent. But, when you actual put another candidate on the other side with all their flaws, the incumbent gets re-elected. So, while Frank and the others may hate Dan at the moment and feel like he doesn't deserve to win, they will eventually recognize that they like the other guy even less.
  19. If Dan wins the final HOH, I think it is a done deal and he will take at least 5 votes. Danielle, Frank, Jenn, Ashley and Britney.
  20. I think Dani gets at least 5 votes against Ian. I do not believe that Ian will be able to get Franks vote because Frank will consider what Ian did, to really be the start of his downfall. He would also be avenging Boogie. If Frank votes for Danielle, Ashley and Jenn will also. Shane and Dan is definite votes. If the house leans towards Danielle...guess which way Joe will vote.
  21. I am pretty sure that the bigger football schools will be coming after Dan now. I am quite sure that a number of top schools in his state are discussing his power of persuasion over people. It's what you look for in a football coach. As far as his church...if he wins, his catholic church will happily accept his 10% donation.
  22. Dani is no dumbass. When Dan wanted to send Shane home b4, she stood up and said no. It is not dumb to follow your coach to the place you where trying to go from the beginning. I have to believe that she had some inkling that Dan was going to send Shane home. She knew how pissed Dan was with her when she nixed sending Shane home the first time.
  23. Remember, the reason Shane was going up and Dan was coming off the block was two-fold. First to trick Dan into thinking that everything was good between Dan and Dani and that Shane and Dani really didn't trust each other. Second, the blood would be on Dan's hands for evicting Ian. In Shane's mind, it would be Dan vs Shane and Dani in the F3 and if either of them won the HOH, Dan was a goner. His real problem was, he let Dan slip the knife in his back first. When Shane sits down and thinks about it, he will realize that the plan to take Dan down, made absolutely no sense at all. It was just dumb. Did they really think a guy with as much game sense as Dan, was gonna let a couple go into the final three with him? The plan was dumb and he got what was coming to him for being a dumb player. You know when you think about it, in almost every situation in which Dan has supposedly stabbed someone in the back, it was like they all just place the knife in Dan's hand, place it in the middle of their back and dared Dan to shove it in. Dan, simply took advantage of opportunity.
  24. Look, Dan knows this girl better than she knows herself. She wasn't really that mad during the convo after Shane was evicted. Once Dan explained the vote count, she was just fine. Dan told her that she had three votes in the JH. Now, it's up to her to figure out that she needs to win the HOH and evict him for the 4th vote. If she cannot figure that out, then the student hasn't learned anything.
  25. To me it sounded like less than half the crowd clapping when Shane said Dan was a dirty player.
