Biscuit
This is the first time I've watched the show, so I'm not very familiar with all the rules, etc. What is the reasoning behind why they cannot sing? Thanks!
Jem
CBS would have to pay copyright on any songs they sing.

LenRay
They should allow them to play the following uncopywrited songs... "You are my sunshine..." "Just as I am (without one flea)"...or any Hymn by Fanny Crosby.(And Yes I prefer "flea" over "plea"...) Too bad, Renny does great vocal imitations of many famous singers!!! echo
As suggested above, it is a copyright issue. I think it might have to do with the fact that they don't have the time between shows to get permission and work out $$$ details before they edit each episode; good footage might have be left out of show because somebody decided to sing for 10-20 seconds. If anybody remembers the Dabney Coleman TV series Buffulo Bill. One of most popular episodes included the full song of "Hit The Road Jack". When they released the TV series on DVD, they had to cut out the entire song from the episode on the DVD because the shows producers could not purchase the music rights "At any price" from the Ray Charles' people.
