what does that mean, "hire a maria"?

As a former Caly resident, I hired a gal with her own cleaning company. She was of Hispanic descent. She referred to one of her employees as a "real Maria". When I ask her to explain she simply shrugged and said..."means she's an excellent housekeeper" ..... her name was Claudia and she cleaned my home for years. She was indeed an excellent housekeeper and became a dear friend.

As for Joey, she may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but I would rather see her stay than Pow Pow....

Glad to see not just me that feels that so far the first week is a snooze fest. Have only turned feeds on twice and After Dark once....and in agreement that it is probably due to BB's instructions that they watch what they say and do because of last year. Sure, I didn't like what was said or done at times last year but it didn't hackle me. I have heard or seen much of the same in my everyday life and as usual, just shake my head and feel sorry for people who are narrow minded, inconsiderate or inappropriate. Such is life .....hope the house guests start getting real soon...

If the Team America has to do with sending them on night missions to do silly things, or have to vote our way, I won't like. The short the sheets stuff is silly pj party games and having them vote for us we have learned turns out to cause too much controversy and/or conspiracy thoughts. Guess what I'm saying is...don't like it.

Don't like bow ties on most men, let alone as a necklace on a lady....her religion is going to stand in her way. Sorry to tell her God is busy with a lot more than whether or not she wins a comp. I don't ask God to give me a strike when I bowl, but I do say thanks when I get one!

Do you think there will still be POV...that would leave the ousted HOH open to fill a vacancy on the block????

Its over the top of my taste, but if the house guests like it...who cares. I'm watching them, not the scenery (though that fire room is hard to miss)

I hope they switch it off...each week different teams. I see enough team/tribe stuff in Survivor to know eventually there is a merge

I think she will be a pot stirrer if she stays awhile and will probably be the first one to get drunk and get really obnoxious.

Thought I'd really dislike him, still don't like the outside vote influence he could have, but after 2 shows, he's not as bad as I thought, time will tell. And so agree about the need for some ankle weights....the guy is in need of a chill pill

What caught my attention was her attention...she was always watching and listening to everything going on around her. She seems ok and I hope the BB fan and her knowledge of the game starts to show up. She could go far.

Great post Slim...felt the same last season. I tried just watching the show just as most do (did not get live feeds). I withheld reading comments on the boards. And tried desperately to keep my eyes out of the Live feed posts (didn't fair to well there, couldn't help sneaking peeks after comps..lol) And like you and Marty and so many others who have posted, I am hoping for a season of entertainment. With the new voting factor, even got sucked back into the feeds this year....
