Comedian Robin Williams has checked out of rehab and moved in with a sober friend in a bid to save his marriage to his wife Marsha. The "Good Will Hunting" Oscar winner, who is battling alcoholism after more than 20 years of sobriety, checked himself in Newberg, Oregon's Hazeldon Springbrook clinic in July. However, Williams is determined to win back his spouse so has moved in with a non-drinking friend "to ensure he doesn't fall off the wagon," reports British newspaper The Sun.

DeGeneres Escapes Injuries in L.A. Crash

    Ellen DeGeneres

LOS ANGELES, California -- Ellen DeGeneres walked away from a three-vehicle collision on Friday, September 1, caused by a suspected drunken driver, police said. "She had a little neck and back pain, but it doesn't look like it was anything serious," said Sgt. Ken Buscarino of the Los Angeles police said after Friday's accident.

The collision occurred just before 4 p.m. on Sunset Boulevard, Buscarino said. The talk-show host stopped her 2006 Porsche Carrera at a light, followed by a 2002 Buick Le Sabre with two men in their 20s. A 2002 Porsche Carrera driven by a 52-year-old woman slammed into the back of the Buick and caused a chain reaction, police said.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and had minor cuts on her leg, police said. The two men in the Buick suffered scratches. DeGeneres' passenger, a woman in her mid-30s, complained of minor back pain. DeGeneres' car sustained moderate damage.

No one required medical attention at the scene, Buscarino said. Messages left for DeGeneres' representatives early Saturday were not returned.

Ann Curry attempts to cover up her broken nose live on 'The Today Show'

Ann Curry suffered a nasty injury Wednesday, August 30 on "Today." Nope, it didn't happen in the Middle East. It happened at 30 Rock in the Big Apple. Curry was going through a revolving door (this is not a veiled reference to talent) in between segments on the show, when she hit her face on the door, breaking her nose.

Curry finished the show with a broken schnoz. Curry, ever the trooper, did not show up for work on Thursday, August 31. But it's not because she's too vain or a wuss. Ann was in New Orleans, interviewing Brad Pitt.

    'Today's' Lauer Expecting Third Co-Host

    Annette and Matt Lauer

Matt Lauer and wife Annette are expecting their third child. The "Today" host, 48, confirmed the news in an interview with Sunday's New York Times magazine in a story about his soon-to-be co-host, Meredith Vieira. He and Annette, 40, are already parents to son Jack, 5, and daughter Romy, who turns 3 in October.

"I was on 'Today' for five years before I had children," Lauer tells the Times magazine. "And back then the job took up a larger slice of the pie graph of my life than was healthy. When I had kids, that immediately changed. It flipped." Lauer and the former Annette Roque, a model turned stay-at-home mom, wed in October 1998.

This spring, after it was announced that "Today" cohost Katie Couric was leaving, Lauer extended his contract with NBC to stay on the show through 2011. But work is not his top priority. "His wife and children are at the center of his universe," Lauer's former "Today" boss, Jeff Zucker, said in 2004, "and everything revolves around that."

Indeed, Lauer said, "Now I define myself by what happens when I walk in that door after work. (Jack) looks at you and goes, 'Papa.' He wants a hug, and then he wants to show you his (toy) planes. My son is a rascal. He'll have a glass of water in the living room. You'll say, 'Jack, do not pour that water.' And he'll look at you and . . . he'll pour it." Little sister Romy, Dad said, "is the polar opposite. Incredibly sweet."

'Le Divorce' for Hudson and Robinson

    Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson

Actress Kate Hudson and her husband, Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson, are splitting. The "You, Me and Dupree" star's representative, Brad Cafarelli, confirms that the couple are separating after nearly six years of marriage. Hudson, 27, and Robinson, 39, wed on New Year's Eve 2000 after dating for about a year. Their son, Ryder Russell, was born January 7, 2004.

The pair first clicked at a party in New York City in May 2000, and moved in together just days later. "When I met Chris, everything just seemed to become very clear," Hudson said in 2003. Three months after they met, Robinson presented Hudson with a diamond ring her representative called "a commitment to their relationship."

They were married by an Ute Indian shaman on December 31, 2000, at the Old Snowmass, Colorado, home of Hudson's mother, Goldie Hawn, and her longtime partner, Kurt Russell. (Hudson's father, singer-comedian Bill Hudson, did not attend.) After that, the two were seldom apart for long.

Still, Hudson admitted in 2003, "In the beginning we were so volatile. We were so in love and passionate, and then we would just hate each other and throw stuff around, and then we would travel to Paris for a week."

Funnyman Robin Williams Tackles Serious Problem

    Robin_rehab.jpg

    Robin Williams

Robin Williams has "found himself drinking again." In response, the Oscar-winning actor is taking "proactive measures to deal with this for his own well-being and the well-being of his family," publicist Mara Buxbaum said Wednesday.

Williams, 54, began drinking again "after 20 years of sobriety," Buxbaum said. The announcement came in the wake of a National Enquirer story claiming the 54-year-old Williams recently checked into a rehab facility in Oregon run by the famed Hazelden program.

The statement from Williams' camp does not mention the R-word, and does not elaborate on what the "proactive measures" entail. Last week, Mel Gibson likewise eschewed the R-word in announcing that he'd "begun an ongoing program of recovery" in the wake of his infamous drunken-driving arrest.

    WilliamsFamily.jpg

    Robin Williams with his family

Williams' latest movie, the thriller "The Night Listener," opened last Friday, taking in an underwhelming $3.6 million over the weekend. According to the Internet Movie Database, the ever-industrious actor, who already starred this year in the family comedy "RV," has at least three more movies due out in 2006, including the animated feature, "Happy Feet."

Williams, who Oscar'd in 1998 for "Good Will Hunting," "looks forward to returning to work this fall to support his upcoming film releases," Buxbaum said. Long a family-friendly brand sold in hit comedies such as "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "Patch Adams," Williams exposed a darker side in movies like "One Hour Photo."

    Robin%20Williams.jpg

    Robin Williams

"I'd been going dark and nasty, but the audience just didn't buy it," Williams said recently in the London Mirror. In his 1986 comedy album, "A Night at the Met," Williams riffs on alcohol, marijuana and cocaine--and why none are particularly productive hobbies.

In his personal life, Williams was believed to have ditched his hard-partying ways after the 1982 death of John Belushi. Williams, then 29, was one of the last people to see Belushi alive before the "Saturday Night Live" star's fatal drug overdose.

It's nice to see someone own up to a mistake even an honest one but I wouldn't expect any less from this "Ah, Shucks" G.I. Joe-type of man. I'm not sure his politics and mine always agree but I do have a level of respect for the man and the manner in which he conducts his own life.

John Glenn Hospitalized After Car Accident

    Annie and John Glenn

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former senator and astronaut John Glenn and his wife were recovering at a hospital on Saturday, August 5, after a car accident a day earlier, Glenn's former press secretary said.

Glenn, 85, and his wife, Annie, 86, were in fair condition on Saturday, August 5, at Grant Medical Center, nursing supervisor Louis Tejada said. They were expected to be released on Sunday, August 6, after a few final tests, said Dale Butland, a friend of the couple who formerly worked for Glenn.

Glenn and his wife were returning home from a fundraiser at a suburban Columbus country club late on Friday, August 4, when he tried to make a left turn onto a highway ramp, Butland said. "He saw a lot of cars in the distance, but did not see this car that was right up on him," Butland said.

The oncoming car hit the front end of Glenn's car. The driver, Amy Myers of suburban New Albany, was not injured and told The Columbus Dispatch that Glenn was "very sincerely sorry." Police cited Glenn for failure to yield, Butland said.

Butland said Glenn was sore, especially in the chest where he was hit when his car's air bag deployed. He and his wife suffered bumps and bruises. "They are very, very grateful that nobody was hurt more seriously, including the other party involved in the accident," Butland said.

Glenn, who served in the Senate from 1974 to 1998, first made headlines in 1962, when he piloted the first manned orbital mission of the United States. He went back into space in 1998, at the age of 77.

'My Sharona' Singer Undergoes Brain Surgery

    FiegerD.jpg

The Knack's lead singer Doug Fieger

The Knack lead singer Doug Fieger, perhaps best known for the 1979 hit, "My Sharona," underwent successful brain surgery on Thursday, August 3, his doctor reported. Fieger, 53, had two brain tumors removed during the operation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, publicist Guy McCain said.

Dr. John Yu said the surgery was successful and Fieger was expected to have a full recovery, McCain said in a statement. The Knack's upcoming concert tour has been postponed, McCain said. The tour had included stops August 11 at the Corbin Music Festival in Corbin, Kentucky and September 2 at the Oregon State Fair in Salem, Oregon.

The Knack were formed in 1978. Their albums include "Get the Knack" and ". . . But the Little Girls Understand." Singer/Songwriter Fieger has said that "My Sharona" was inspired by a girlfriend of four years.

"I had never met a girl like her ever," he told The Associated Press in a 1994 interview. "She induced madness. She was a very powerful presence. She had an insouciance that wouldn't quit. She was very self-assured . . . She also had an overpowering scent, and it drove me crazy."

Musician Freddy Fender Diagnosis: Incurable Cancer

    freddy.jpg

    Freddy Fender

Musician Freddy Fender has incurable cancer, discovered after tumors were found on his lungs, and his wife said they are "hoping for a miracle."

"I feel very comfortable in my life," Fender told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times for a story published Wednesday. "I'm one year away from 70 and I've had a good run. I really believe I'm OK. In my mind and in my heart, I feel OK. I cannot complain that I haven't lived long enough, but I'd like to live longer."

Fender started his career in the late 1950s and hit the charts with "Before The Next Teardrop Falls," "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" and "You'll Lose A Good Thing." He has won three Grammy Awards, the most recent in 2002.

He was to have surgery in early January to remove the upper left lobe of his lung because of a fungal infection, but surgeons found two large tumors and left the lobe intact. Fender underwent chemotherapy in late January but stopped because of its side effects. A scan later found nine more tumors.

He was resting at his home in Corpus Christi, said Vangie Huerta, his wife and manager, adding that she did not ask doctors to estimate how long he might live. Fender, who has canceled all performances, has decided to resume chemotherapy at a lower dosage.

"We can prolong his life with medication or chemo, but it's not a cure," his wife said. Fender received a kidney from his daughter in 2002 and a liver transplant in 2004. He has had problems with diabetes and hepatitis C.

  15. You just might be right. I went searching and the only thing I found so far was on contactmusic.com. It was dated July 28, 2006:

Rocker Alanis Morissette and her ex-fiance, actor Ryan Reynolds, seem to have rekindled their romance after the reportedly split couple were spotted "rolling around" together during a romantic day out in a Vancouver, Canada park. The pair were planning a late 2006 wedding but reportedly ended their engagement last month (June 2006). A pal says, "Someone spread that rumour, but it's not true. They are still very much together."

So cross your romantic fingers and let's hope for the best. It would be nice to believe romance is still alive and kicking! Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep looking to see what I can spot among my entertainment sources.

A blood sample was obtained after the young actor was taken to Pasadena's Huntington Memorial Hospital this morning. The sample will be tested and results will be known within three weeks.

If alcohol was indeed a factor, they will take the case to the District Attorney for prosecution. The sample will also be tested for the presence of drugs. Requests for a statement by "Access Hollywood" to Osment's manager have not yet been returned.

    Haley Joel Osment

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, California -- He may see dead people, but roadside columns are a trickier beast for actor Haley Joel Osment. "The Sixth Sense" star was hospitalized in Pasadena early Thursday, July 20 after reportedly losing control of his car, hitting a brick pillar and flipping his vehicle.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, the 18-year-old actor was en route to his home in the Los Angeles suburb of La Canada-Flintridge at roughly 2:10 a.m. on Thursday when his 1995 Saturn--yes, Spielberg's former muse drives an 11-year-old car--jumped the curb, collided with a four-foot brick mailbox pillar and overturned before coming to a stop.

Sergeant Bob Patterson said that Osment was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and looked "banged up and scraped up" when cops pulled him from the vehicle, though the "A.I." star was still alert and talking coherently. According to Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros, the onetime Oscar nominee was alone in the car at the time of the accident and no other vehicles were involved.

Osment was admitted to Pasadena's Huntington Memorial Hospital, though there's no word on either his current condition or what caused him to lose control of his car in the first place. But the curse of the former child star may not be to blame: There are no signs that either drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident, per the sheriff's department.

Osment, whose workload has dwindled with his age, recently wrapped production on the coming-of-age drama, "Home of the Giants." The actor stars as a fledgling journalist covering his high school basketball team's run for the state championship, only to uncover possible corruption among the players. The film is set for release later this year.

Actor Daniel Baldwin Faces Charges After Crash

    Daniel Baldwin

LOS ANGELES, California -- Actor Daniel Baldwin faces reckless driving charges after he drove a rented Ford Thunderbird at speeds of more than 80 mph through traffic and crashed into two parked cars on Wednesday, July 19, police said. Baldwin was examined at a hospital after complaining of back and neck pain.

Baldwin was detained for questioning after the crash, Officer Martha Garcia said. "He was not arrested," she said. "He was detained for questioning, then afterward they determined they were going to file charges. It was a misdemeanor and not a felony. If it were a felony, he would be arrested."

Shortly before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, police officers said they observed Baldwin's car traveling at more than 80 mph. The car weaved in and out of traffic and ran a red light before striking the two parked cars, including a Hummer that was pushed about 20 feet by the impact, authorities said.

Baldwin refused to cooperate with a police officer, who drew his gun to get the actor to comply, Officer Jason Lee said. An unidentified woman in the car was not injured and went to the hospital with the actor, authorities said.

Baldwin, 45, was driving with a suspended license, said Lee, adding detectives planned to forward the case to the city attorney's office for misdemeanor charges. An after hours message left for Baldwin's attorney was not immediately returned.

Baldwin, brother of Alec, Stephen and William, has appeared in such films as "Car 54, Where Are You?" and "Attack of the 50-Foot Woman." He has also appeared in episodes of "NYPD Blue" and "Touched by an Angel."

In April, prosecutors declined to file felony charges against Baldwin after his arrest in a cocaine possession case. Police said they found the actor and another man in a Santa Monica hotel, along with cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

LOS ANGELES, California -- The on-again, off-again love affair between actress Pamela Anderson and singer Kid Rock is on again. Next week, Pamela Anderson will make an honest man out of Kid Rock. The couple, now vacationing in St. Tropez, France, will marry on July 29 on a yacht near the glamorous hotspot.

Anderson confirmed the good news in an entry in her online diary: "Yes, I'm finally getting remarried . . . I'm in love. I'm happy . . . It's been a whirlwind . . . spontaneous but well thought through."

When contacted by The Associated Press, Marleah Leslie, Anderson's spokeswoman, declined to comment on the report. However, Us Weekly quoted an Anderson representative as saying, "They have been close for a very long time and decided that now is the right time to take the next step."

Photographs posted on the Internet show Anderson, 39, and Kid Rock, 35, embracing and enjoying the sun on the coastline of France. The former Playboy model and the Detroit rap-rocker, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, became engaged in the Las Vegas desert in April 2002, but never set a wedding date. They broke up the following year.

Anderson and her first husband, Tommy Lee, divorced in 1998 after three years of marriage. They have two sons, Brandon, 10, and Dylan, 8. Kid Rock has a 13-year-old son, Bob Jr. from a previous relationship.

"Feels like I've been stuck in a time warp," said the "Baywatch" bombshell in her cryptic diary entry. "Not able to let go of MY family picture . . . it's been sad and lonely and frustrating . . . I've raised my kids alone in hope of a miracle. Well my miracle came and went. And came back and back because he knew that I'd wake up one day and realize that I was waiting for nothing."

Anderson, basking in soon-to-be-wedded bliss, said her sons "know the truth" whatever that means and love both Lee and Kid Rock. "I'm moving on," she declared. "I feel like I'm finally free . . . I'm in love."
