The best television producers in the country are the ones who can make it look like they aren't the ones in charge. The producers have all researched the distinct personalities of every member if the house .. they know Will and Mike like to "feel" like they are in charge .. they are playing into their personalities. When I produced, my job was 1) the show, and 2) make the talent think they have all the control .. and they never did. Also, everyone in that house is under a CBS Viacom contract .. which has many fine lines. One is that you "always listen to the producers" .. if they don't, not only will they be taken off the show, but they will also be sued by Viacom for breach of contract.
