  1. 8:30AM BBT - Everyone seems to be up and in the back yard complaining about the cold. Most are bundled up in blankets and hoodies and have agreed that Big Brother can do whatever BB wants to do. They also have agreed this is NOT a house, it is a warehouse and it is winter and so it likely isn't AC that is causing the cold. 8:33AM BBT - All discussing best cell phones, where they have lost theirs and where their phones have been stolen.
  2. 6:18PM BBT - everyone seems to be sitting around talking. 6:19PM BBT - all feeds go to "We Know Secrets" 7:00PM BBT - all feeds still cut
  3. I know the US prize is taxed so $500,000 likely boils down to something considerably less. I wonder if the CRA (Canadian equivalent of the IRS for our US visitors) will treat the Canadian prize as "lottery" winnings (free of tax) or as "earned income" (subject to about $28,000 in taxes with no other income or deductions). The prize also includes a vehicle and a $25000 shopping spree at the Brick. (The Brick shopping spree prize reminds me of the old joke about first prize being a week in Philadelphia and second prize being two weeks in Philadelphia. http://preview.tinyurl.com/aohspe5 )
  4. 4:15PM BBT - Jillian is packing for her move to the HOH room.. [Earlier today one feed showed production staff getting ready to clean up/dismantle after the Have/Havenot competition. Two staff members were wandering more or less aimlessly and one (dressed in shiny new clothes and clock white sneakers) stood at the edge of the pit, and slipped down into the slop, and became covered in the goop. He sort of skated to the other end and dragged himself to a relatively dry surface. Once there the other staff member came and "examined" (for lack of a better word) him and them tried to scrape the stuff off his legs.] [The feeds often seem to "bleed through" when FOTH is signalled and so I suspect they haven't yet quite figured them out.]

  6. I've been dropping into the live feeds for a few minutes at a time a number of time throughout the day. Nothing exciting seems to have happened. House guests were prepping breakfast, doing ADL, and then getting ready for the POV. Lots of discussion along the lines of "I've got to win HOH now" and "I'm going to lay low/be aggressive/fit in/be myself" and "I really like/despise/loathe/am ambivalent towards [fill in the blank]". I've yet to sort out who is who. I did see one interesting exchange between two woman (see I really haven't figured out who is who) discussing one's OCD issues and the other's support of a friend with serious OCD. Interesting to me due to my support of a family member with serious OCD. It is good to see OCD getting serious discussion on TV, even if it is "only" BBCA. One other comment - we Canadian may be "more polite" than our neighbours to the south, but judging by the little I have seen today and comparing that to the little bits of After Dark I've seen on Showcase2, our 20 -38 year olds have real potty mouths. It will be interesting to see how the producers handle the amount of swearing. It doesn't offend me but I suspect it will surprise our American visitors. Greg
  7. Morty: We Canadians go through this all the time with not being able to get US based content because we are NOT in the US and typically the content is only licensed for US viewing. The service you have found is a VPN (virtual private network) and there are likely lots more of them around. My researching this from Canada is fruitless as Google's geo-locating service tends to skew searches to reflect VPN offerings in Canada to either the US (for broadcast network additional content) or the UK (most typically BBC and ITV additional content) and of course, you need US to Canada. I have some (limited) experience using VPNs and unless the provider dedicates the necessary horsepower it can be painful to use. I have no idea how popular BB Canada will be in the US but you know the hammering your site takes when things get interesting with BB US. Live feeds also tend to be heavy traffic compared to "browsing". The provider likely has ways round this but needs to know of the issue before it becomes an issue. Greg
  8. February will be an interesting start! Parkas and snow boots for a visit to the backyard. Perhaps BBCan will just have a basement. Anyone have any idea where the house is going to be? If it is Toronto proper the Downsview industrial area would be my bet. Has a host been announced?
