I don't have a problem with people trying to learn things about other cultures but I do think it is odd that Shockalot is so dead set that it is appropriate to use the word just because some rappers and commedians use it.

I can understand why some people esp outside of the US have a hard time understanding why the word shouldnt be used.

I live in a community which is prodominetly african american and you cant listen to a conversation among the younger crowd without hearing that word used 1000 times. Its part of everyday slang. altho not being of african american decent If i was to walk outside and use that word I would be given 1000 nasty looks.

My husband however is quite popular with the older teens in the neigborhood (we own a cell phone store and they are very popular now a days) if he was to use the word in context of saying friend, buddy, dude etc... people wouldnt think twice about it.

I had a dream last night that this was a double eviction night. It would be great that if the first couple that was put up on the block together (no matter how they got thier) were taken out of the house together. OOOOOOOOOOOo that would so great especially in this case. then they could go cry together all night. I dont think they get to go home cuz no one has been there to greet them besides Julie when they are evicted.

Reading ur post does bring back some of my memory. I remember Jack calling Dana (I also liked her) that. I really don't remember Jun and Alison saying that, wow. Latina women are fabulous and I have many friends that fit that term. Ivette is just a poor choice in then representation of Latina women. I am actually surprised, because BB has usually done a decent job when it comes to minorities of putting people in the house that while yes, they may be stereotypical, they also show the public the real side of whoever they are and can positively affect how people on the ouside think about them. This yeear though, they seem to be on crack. They have Ivette, who, I don;t care what background she came from, is a bigot, and trailer trash. April is the same. Beau, I was hoping would be a string gay black man, but instead, he is the typical gay queen stereotype and also thinks he can be healed of his Homosexuality. Disgusting ion this day and age. Howie? I hoped for one or more of him cuz they make the show fun, even if irritating at times, Kaysar, bold choice which I know from the beginning would be failure just because in the weeks before the show, everyone on CBS. COM was against him, just because he was from Iraq. Srah and James? I am all for putting a couple in, but a couple only together 4 months and one (Sarah) obviously not secure enough to handle? Wrong. Ashleas and Janelle were ok, and I liked Eric and Maggie at first becuase I respect their professions, but Eric is now on my hate list, although maggie is still up in the air. Rachel, I am liking her more and more now that we are seeing her inside the house more. Michael is the one I feel the most for. He seems like a great guy who has had lies piled on him and their was literally nothing he could do about it. I wish there had a been a house full of people like him. Playful, fun, sexual, intelligent, people looking to play a game yes, but have a fun summer as well. This has to be the most disappointing cast yet. But, please don;t let Ivette or anyone else reflect on you. They are individuals and do not speak for any whole group.

It is just bad casting by CBS yet again. They need to get back to 14 real people

Trust me, we can get loud and stuff when we are around each other and just bummin, but damn, have some respect for urself, especially when America and ur family are watching u on TV. I know she will be embarrassed (or maybe not) when she sees herself acting like a fool.

Yes, he did.  Beau also plays as much of a part in all that mess as his friend Ivette.  Kaysar even talked to him before he went outside and asked him to not talk about it to the other guys.  Kaysar said all it would do is get things more stirred up and cause a fight, but Beau did it anyway.

As strange as it is.. the more we hate a player, the reality is that player is  more than likely playing a good game. It is very difficult for me personally to keep this in the right perspective that It Is A Game. Eric drives me crazy and Ivette needs a  stun gun to shut her up, Howie needs a chill pill,  and April is gonna have a nose Pinnochio will be proud of, but bottom line is, they will probably all  go far because they are all playing THE GAME.

Playing the game u lie, cheat and so on.... calling people names, and knowing u r being heard is just classless. Maybe being Latina myself I feel it more, I don't know.

Yeah there is not a certain way your supposed to play the game, and if there was I think these peeps are playing the way its supposed to be played. Except for the fact that they are outright making shit up about people that could be really damaging, like Michael being a sexual predator its just not true. And some of these people are dirty human beings Ivette is a bitch in or out of the house calling girls c*nts, making fun of Kaysor religions who does she think she is. I hope when Eric gets out of the house and watches the tapes he realizes he aligned himself with the devil.

These people are not playing this game right. I have never seen (not that I can think of) a bunch of name calling bigots in BB history. I can be wrong. Robert was (is) Cuban and nobody called him names.

Eric's problem is that he wants to be everyones HERO. He needs to leave the heroics for fighting fires. Ivette and company are really a bunch of...... I don't know, can't find the right words. But she is truely not representing Latinas. But let me tell u, if this Latina was there with Ivette, I would have put her in her place a while ago. We are not all loud (even though I can't loud) and drama queens like Ms. Ivette.

Neither April or Ivette have "leadership" qualities. All Ivette got is mouth. She was the girl who always got beat up in school, cause she had a big mouth and nothing to back it up. I wish she would stop saying she is Latin, cause not all Latinas are like her. BB is all about fibbing, lieing, telling 1/2 truths, etc, but the ladies in this game are LOSERS. I thought they were SMART If so, why are they trying to play the sexual harrassment game. Granted, I haven't seen the feeds, but by reading I don't think Mike is doing anything inappropriate. If he was, wouldn't CBS have taken him out long ago? I don't know, this game (the HGs) are pissing me off and taking away from the game. These guys are a bunch of LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the women except Janelle have been talking to Eric about Michael's inappropriate  behavior towards them, they all feel that Michael's actions are wrong and Eric was getting mad hearing about it. 

Eric did pull Michael aside to talk to him about what the girls are saying and warned him about sexually harassing them, something I'm sure he has experience with 'if' he is a captain of a fire station. 

As the day went on, there seems to have been a lot of frustration with the POV competition, it seems to have been delayed until today, even after we had fish most of the afternoon on th cams. Add the alcohol and the women seemed to talk more and more to Eric about Michael's touching and staring and other behavior and Eric was getting more and more pumped up. The last straw was an exchange between Eric & Ivette, and when Michael walked into the back yard, Eric blew his stack.

I think Eric seen what he did as defending the girls from someone the girls have spent the day telling him they were afraid of.

Is it ALL the other women or just whinny April and annoying Ivette. Ivette is playing "i can't defend myself Eric, please help me", but I bet Ivette can kick some a$$. I bet April loves all the attention, but since her husband is watching, she is being a drama queen. I bet if her husband felt that Michael was harrassing his wife, am sure (if he were man enough) he would get his wife outta there or complaine, money or no money.

As a fellow "Latin Chick" (Puerto Rican), Ivette is an embarrassment.

April - Oh My God - what makes that idiot think that calling Kaysar "Sadaam" was alright.

BB should send them all to sensitivity training. They should have them all see/hear themselves saying those things and in front of the person they said it about. These are grown people. Age has nothing to do with it.

Ivette being a minority, I can't believe she would be so stupid.

How about Fisher. I know its not that original but Bubbles is just so... corny :? . I think Glow is cool. Just my two cents.
