Dancing With The Stars ~ U.S. Season 20 Episode 7

Tonight's Dancing With The Stars opens with the announcer welcoming everyone to the ballroom. The shows title is projected on the dance floor, and professional dancers come out to the do a number on the dance floor. The women are dressed in long, yellow dresses, and the men and dressed in black tuxes with tails.

 

Tom says, Get ready for a spray tan tour through time. Erin says, the highest scoring couple in tonight's traveling through time will be safe from elimination. Since Derek is injured from last weeks competition a substitute professional dancer is taking his place tonight, to dance with Nastia. Tom says, the double elimination has been put on hold until next week, because of this.

 

We see Riker and Allison's highlights and practice sessions for this week. They are dancing the 20's Quickstep to Wiggle by Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox. Len tells Riker he rounded all the bases, and made it home (because he's costume is a baseball uniform). Julianne tells them they need to work on the height difference issue, but it was a home run for her. Bruno says, it was absolutely brilliant, and the content was good for him. He tells him to just not tighten his upper body by his neck. Carrie Ann says, he looked like a new dancer in the group, and told him to just watch his chin.

 

They head to the sky box for their scores. Tom tells the viewers that sadly one couple will leave tonight. Erin asks Riker what he thinks his chances of getting a 10 from Len are? He says, we will just have to see. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len - 10, Julianne - 9, and Bruno - 9, for a total of 37. Erin tells everyone at home to get their votes in, and that everyone gets 7 votes on each device and phone line this week. Erin jokingly tells Riker to get his baseball bat away from her. Tom says, there's more to come after the break, live.

 

We return to the ballroom with professional dancers dancing a 30's Swing. We see Chris and Witney's highlights and practice sessions for this week.

 

Chris and Witney are dancing the 40's Foxtrot to Five Minutes More by Frank Sinatra. The audience claps along with the music, and erupts for them when they are finished, and gives them a standing ovation. Julianne says, there's something that happens when something connects, like last week. She says he doesn't have to worry, because this will not be their last dance, and it was awesome. Bruno says, Chris takes them on a smooth cruise, and he's turning into a dancer. He says, he agrees with Julianne, and there was such fluidity, and his foot work is great. He says, his improvement is evident week after week. Carrie Ann says, he's truly the underdog, and he's really doing great, because everything is going up, up. Then, there is noise on the stage. She tells him, he's the one to watch for her right now. Len says, he is the underdog, because he doesn't have any dance experience. He says, like the trains in England, he's right on time, and only needs to polish up the little moments while in the hold position.

 

They head up to the sky box to for their scores. Tom says, we need to figure out where that noise came from. Erin compliments their dance, and Chris is beaming with excitement. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 8, Len - 7, Julianne - 8, and Bruno - 8, for a total of 31. Erin says, these guys still need votes, and encourages the viewers to vote.

 

We see Rumer and Val's highlights and practice sessions for this week. Tom says, they were definitely not alone when it came to back stage issues this week, and we'll see more after the break.

 

We return to the ballroom with professional dancers dancing the 50's Jive. Tom says, before the break we saw a little bit of Rumer and Val during training the week. They are now showing yesterday's rehearsal highlights. They are dancing the 60's Jive to Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor. The audience is on their feet clapping along with the music as they dance. They erupt for them when they are finished.

Bruno says, that was a whole new character for Rumer, and it was as great as a slice of homemade apple pie. He tells her just to watch her hand, and tells her he really loved it. Carrie Ann says, she really torn up about this dance, because it was clean, but she feels it was just a little bit to safe. She tells her there were only tiny things to watch, and she's being critical with her, because she's so good. Len says, he liked the toe heels, and her whips. He says, he really like the dance a lot, and the back-up dancers didn't get in the way. He says, they are a great pair. Julianne says, it's week 7, and the anticipation is up, and it can get exhausting. She says, don't let it get to them, and they are doing an awesome job. She tells her to just watch her arms a little bit, and says, they are nitpicking her, because she is such an awesome dancer.

 

They head to the sky box for their scores. Tom says, there's more Dancing With The Stars on tomorrow night as well. Erin complements Rumer on how good of a dancer she is, and tells her she knows how hard it is for the training. She has Rumer explain her situation. She says, she's so thankful for Val, and appreciates the judges’ comments, she wants to get better, and make it to the end. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 8, Len - 9, Julianne - 9, and Bruno - 9, for a total of 35. Erin tells everyone to make sure they get their votes in for this couple. Tom says, there's more dancing through the decades when we return to the ballroom, live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the ballroom, and the judges are having fun at the judges table. We see Noah and Sharna's highlights and practice sessions for this week. They are dancing the 70's Jazz to Super Bad by James Brown. The audience goes crazy for them when they are finished. Carrie Ann asks what that was? She says, that was insane and great, and she loved it. Len says, it was great, and he may have the limbs, but he's twice the man. He says, he can't go overboard like Carrie Ann, and some of these are becoming group numbers, but, it's as good as any dance they've done. Julianne says, it's the most fun she's had at the judges table. She says, in the last few weeks she's seen them improve, and this week was great. Bruno says, they are bad ass hot, and yet so cool, it gives him chills.

 

They head to the sky box for their scores. Tom says, there will be a dance off later in the show for extra points. Erin asks Noah about his pelvic thrust, and he says, this is ABC, so he's going to let that go for now. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 10, Len - 9, Julianne - 9, and Bruno - 9, for a total 37. Erin says, Carrie Ann enjoyed the pelvic thrust as did the rest of them. She says, there's a tear in this playa's eye. Tom says, more to come after the break, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with the judges moving to the music playing, while they sit at the judges table. We see Robert and Kym's highlights and practice sessions for this week.

 

They are dancing the 80's Argentine Tango to Word Up by Cameo. The audience cheers for them during their dance, and gives them a standing ovation when they are finished. Tom says, he thought the smoke was the effect, but they were creating that themselves. Len says, they are up one week, and down the next, this week they were up. Julianne says, she just loves that each week they are always happy. She tells Kym that she's princess by day, and this by night. Bruno says, it was great, and he wants everything. Carrie Ann says, the chemistry they have is great. She says, at times Kym was to much woman for him, and they all laugh. She says, it was well done.

 

They head to the sky box for their scores. Tom reminds everyone to get their votes in for the couples again this week. Erin asks Kym about their package. Kym says, they were getting into character. Robert just says, squirrel. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 7, Len - 8, Julianne - 8, and Bruno - 8, for a total of 31. Erin says, they are going to need viewer votes to survive next weeks double elimination. Tom says, the dance off for bonus points will be coming up in a little bit. We come back to Dancing With The Stars with professional dancers dancing the 90's Tango. We see Nastia and Derek's highlights and practice sessions for this week. During practice Derek broke his toe on a stage light. He then rolled his ankle and sprained it. So he is out for this week. Sasha Farber is going to his replacement this week, and this weeks dance is still be choreographed by Derek this week. Derek is having trouble with the fact that he can't dance this week, but he still wants to be part of it.

 

Nastia and Sasha are dancing the Modern Charleston to Honey, I'm Good by Andy Grammer. The audience is clapping along with them dancing, and Derek is part of the routine with other back-up dancers, with a boot on his left foot. The audience erupts for them when they are done. Tom says, and that is how you make lemonade out of lemons. He says, WOW! Julianne says, she wants to give a round of applause to production, the team and crew. She thanks Sasha for stepping in to help. Julianne says, they killed that dance. Bruno says, that's the best subway dance he's ever taken, and you will never get a better ride. He says, so many elements were there that surprised him, and it was a revelation of a dance. Carrie Ann came out to hug Nastia, and asks Nastia if she felt the difference? She says, tonight she was dancing, and she was living. Len gives a thumbs up, because they ran out of time.

 

They head to the sky box for their scores. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 10, Len - 9, Julianne - 9, and Bruno - 10, for a total of 38. Erin says, they have the immunity as of now, with a higher score than Riker and Allison. Derek tells everyone he's way ahead of schedule on recovery. Erin tells everyone they need to get their votes. Tom says, only Derek, that just injured himself less than a week ago, can say he's well ahead of schedule on recovery. More to come, live, when we come back.

 

The judges are clapping to music when we return to the ballroom. Tom says, Nastia and Sasha are at the top of the leader board right now, we'll see if they stay there with their score of 38. We see Willow and Mark's highlights and practice sessions for this week.

 

They are dancing the Futuristic Jazz to Electric Feel by MGMT. The audience goes crazy for them, and gives them a standing ovation. Tom calls them over to him, and tells them that was fun. Bruno says, his little crouching tiger is now a master. He says, it awesome and perfect, and even the cherry blossoms were playing tribute to her. Carrie Ann speaks in another language to her. She says, what was fantastic was the sync, but sometimes it didn't come together all the way. Len says, it was excellent and well done. Julianne says, it was so intricate and well planned. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len - 9, Julianne - 9, and Bruno - 10, for a total of 37. Tom says, they are one point off the leader for immunity. Tom says, Nastia and Sasha have the highest score of the night, and therefore have earned the immunity for this week. Tom says, the dance off is next, live.

 

When we return to Dancing With The Stars, Tom says, Nastia and Sasha have earned immunity and can not be eliminated. The couples are all lined up on the walkway, and a video is played to tell everyone how the dance off will work. Riker and Allison choose to dance against Willow and Mark. Willow and Mark choose the Salsa for their dance. Tom tells the remaining couples to all head back stage. The girls take their long skirts off, and Tom again, tells the remaining couples to head backstage since they clearly don't take direction. He tells them, that's why you should come to dress rehearsal.

 

Riker and Allison begin the dance off dancing to the music of Temperature by Sean Paul. Then, Willow and Mark take the dance floor to do their Salsa. The audience cheers for both of the couples. Tom calls them over to him after they are both finished dancing. Len says, it's a bit like his bank account, not a lot in it. He says, it was very very close. He says, he has to pick on, and they will have to wait and see who it is. Julianne says, it was very close, but very different. Bruno says, it was so hot and spicy, but very very different. He says, it's like chocolate and vanilla. Carrie Ann says, they both had very different dance styles. Every judge says, we have to wait and see what happens.

 

They all head to the sky box for their scores. Tom tells viewers to to vote on Twitter, and Riker and Allison have won by 60%. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - Willow and Mark, Len - Willow and Mark, Julianne - Willow and Mark, and Bruno - Willow and Mark. Erin says, Willow and Mark will get 2 extra points added to their total, giving them a total of 39 for tonight. She says, the votes will still count towards next week’s double elimination also.

 

Noah and Sharna choose to dance with Robert and Kym. Robert and Kym choose to dance the Cha Cha. Tom says, that means that Chris and Witney and Rumer and Val will dance the Foxtrot later. He tells the remaining couples to go back stage, and let the dance off begin.

 

Noah and Sharna start the dance off dancing to Dance With Me by Kelly Clarkson. Robert and Kym then dance their Cha Cha to the same song. Tom calls the couples over to him. Julianne says, this is really difficult because they both did well, and the hip action was good. She says, there was a minor issue at the beginning, but the hip action was great. Bruno says, it was very good, and it's more difficult for a man to do the Cha Cha. Tom says, if their is a tie, Len's vote breaks the tie. Carrie Ann says, they were both very good, but there were a lot of mistakes. Len says, they were very similar.

 

They go to the sky box for their votes. Noah and Sharna are at 69% on Twitter. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - Robert and Kym, Len - Noah and Sharna, Julianne - Noah and Sharna, and Bruno - Robert and Kym. Erin says, that means Len's vote is the tie breaker, and Noah and Sharna have won this. They get 2 points added to tonight's score, now giving them a total of 38. Erin says, they all still need votes for the double elimination. Tom says, the final two couples will dance off, when we come back, and then one couple will sadly be eliminated tonight, live.

 

When we come back the final dance off ensues. Rumer and Val dance first to Orange Colored Sky by Natalie Cole. Chris and Witney then dance their Foxtrot. The audience cheers for the couples, and Tom calls them over by him. Bruno says, they were both dazzling, they did great. Carrie says, they were both great, but one did shine. Len says, Chris had a little bad luck. Julianne says, it was tight. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - Rumer and Val, Len - Rumer and Val, Julianne - Rumer and Val, and Bruno - Rumer and Val. Tom says, that gives them 2 points for a total of 37 tonight.

 

Tom recaps the night, and that Nastia and Sasha are safe tonight. The first couple safe tonight is Noah and Sharna from the remaining couples. The next couple safe is Robert and Kym. Also dancing next week is Chris and Witney. Tom says, that means one of our high scoring couples will go home. The next couple coming back next week is Riker and Allison. Either Rumer and Val or  Willow and Mark will be eliminated now. Willow and Mark are eliminated, and are leaving now. Erin says, we are all sad and shocked. She asks Mark for his reaction? He says, it is what it is. He tells Willow that she has done such a great job from day one, and she's only 14 years old. Tom says, can he not be a TV Host for a minute, and be a dad, and he gives her a hug. Tom says, everyone needs the votes tonight, and this proves it. The leader board is shown on the screen with Nastia and Sasha at the top, and at the bottom are Robert and Kym and Rumer and Val. Tom says, the 10th Anniversary Special is tomorrow night at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
