Dancing With The Stars ~ U.S. Season 19 Episode 12

Tonight's Dancing With The Stars starts with highlights. The announcer welcomes us to the Semi-Finals of Dancing With The Stars. All of the Semi-Finalists are welcomed to the ballroom by Tom and Erin.

 

Tom says that these couples have all made it through the first nine weeks of competition. They are going to have two dances tonight. Tom says, it will be a demanding night, so they are going to get started right away.

 

We see highlights and practice sessions from this week for Sadie and Mark. They are dancing the Quickstep to Problem by Ariana Grande. The crowd is on their feet, cheering for them as they dance. The crowd goes wild for them when they are finished. Len says, that was fast. He says, he's a little disappointed really, because he didn't find anything he didn't like really. Julianne says, there's a light thing that she has, and people take that and go with it. Bruno says, wonderful, and plenty of content there. He says, it had the contemporary twist that suited her beautifully. Carrie Ann says, she has to compliment her on her hold, and it was beautiful. They go upstairs to Erin for their scores. Erin tells them to get up there. She says, everyone was holding their breath after last week. Sadie says, it was fun and great. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len - 10, Julianne - 9, Bruno - 9. Total 37. Erin talks about Erin's Man Crush Monday on Twitter today, and it was Len holding a 10 paddle. Erin says, they will earn more votes in their next dance, but they still need votes. Tom says, Len and Social Media don't really get along. More to come after the break.

 

We come back to Dancing With The Stars with the judges dancing by their table. Tom welcomes everyone back to the Semi-Finals. We see highlights and practice sessions from this week for Tommy and Peta. They are dancing the Jazz to Tainted Love by Soft Cell. The crowd is cheering for them as they dance. The crowd gives them a roaring applause and standing ovation when they are finished dancing. There is a lot of whistling and hollering going on by the audience. Tom says, he loves this, you have Tommy Chong, and he turns Peta around, and says, and Peta's thong. Julianne says, that was wild, she loved it, and it was great entertainment. She told Peta she rocked it. Bruno says, just sit back and enjoy it, and he did enjoy every minute of it. Carrie Ann says, Peta is the MVP of this season, and she has made Tommy look great. Len says, he could not have done what Tommy has done, and told him, well done! They go upstairs to Erin for their scores. Erin says, we need to talk about the wardrobe department, and what they do with Peta each week. They talk about their movements in their dance, and show a jam session from the week. Tommy says, this group is really close, and he's the granddad. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 7, Len - 7, Julianne - 7, Bruno - 7. Total 28. Erin says, she gives Peta a 10 for her outfit. Tom says, there are more dances to come after the break, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with professionals spinning us back to the Semi-Finals, according to Tom. We see highlights and practice sessions from this week for Bethany and Derek. They are dancing the Samba to I Want You Back by The Jackson 5. The crowd really loved their dance, and erupts for them when they are finished dancing. Bruno says, you little tease you, chase me, chase me, you'll never catch me. He says, it's really daring to take a dance like that, and make it work so well. He says, well done! Carrie Ann says, it's a very solid Samba, but she feels a little underwhelmed by it, because there is more to her. The audience boos. Carrie Ann talks like Bruno, and Tom says, that's scary. Len says, it's a little sticky, and it was fun, and he liked it. Julianne says, this is probably the hardest week, because it's the Semi-Finals, but you have nothing to worry about because you did so good. She tells Derek to get out of his head, not worry about it, and get over it, because he did so well. They go upstairs to Erin for their scores. Erin says, it was sticky with two boys fighting for her in the dance. Bethany and Derek say that the dance went well. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len - 9, Julianne - 9, Bruno - 9. Total 36. Erin says, Derek's best friend Mark made a cameo in their video, and they put up a split screen showing how Mark looks like Woody Allen. Tom says, he thought it more of a Chico Marx look himself. He says, there will be more dancing to come after the break, live.

 

The Dancing With The Stars Mirror Ball Trophy is spinning around, when Dancing With The Stars returns. We see highlights and practice sessions from this week for Janel and Val. They are dancing the Paso Doble to Blame by Calvin Harris. The crowd goes wild for them at the end of their dance. Tom calls them over to him. Carrie Ann says, she wanted more. She says, that was over way to soon, it was so dynamic. Len says, just enough of everything to keep him satisfied. He says, it was a great routine, and they nailed it, great job! Julianne says, she felt like they were one. She says, there was no separation, and they are in it to win it. Bruno says, they really set the stage on fire. Tom says, he smells good scores coming. They are sent upstairs to Erin for their scores. Erin says, she thought the Romeo and Juliet routine was hot, but this was sick. She says, the comments were insane and she's in the zone. Janel says, each week she's been motivated to do better, and they are in it to win it. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 10, Len - 10, Julianne - 10, Bruno - 10. Total 40. Erin tells Val not to hurt her, out of his excitement. Erin asks him if his brother should come see him each week for him to do this great? He says, he lives with him, so he doesn't want to see him that much more. Clips are shown of things to come after the break.

 

The judges are chatting at their table when we return to Dancing With The Stars. Tom leads in for highlights and practice session from this week for Alfonso and Witney. They are dancing the Argentine Tango to Love Runs Out by One Republic. The crowd is on their feet cheering for them as they dance. They get a huge applause and whistling when they are finished. Tom calls them over by him, and asks Alfonso if that's the I'm hurting smile? Alfonso says, yes it is. Len says, that was great. He says, pain is temporary, and to get through it to the finals. Julianne says, he can get out there. She says, you can tell he was in pain, but he is a fighter. Tom interjects because Alfonso is crying. Alfonso says, they've made it through one, and they have one more to go. Bruno says, there's nothing to cry about, because you couldn't tell. He says, it was great, and to get out there for the next dance. Carrie Ann says, he was stacked perfectly out there because of being in pain. She tells him to go easy, but get back out there for the next dance. Erin tells Alfonso, he can't go up there and do this to her. She says, they did great, and they are both fighters. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len - 9, Julianne - 9, Bruno -9. Total 36. Erin asks how they are going to get through the next dance? Alfonso says, because they are fighters. Erin tells them to get ready for the next dance, and tells everyone they need their votes. Tom says, that's the end of round 1. The next round starts after the break, live.

 

Professional dancers are on stage when Dancing With The Stars returns. Tom welcomes everyone back to the Semi-Finals. Janel and Val are at the top of the leader board with a perfect 40. Tommy and Peta are at the bottom of the leader board with a 28.

 

We see video of important people in Sadie's life talking about her. Sadie and Mark dance the Argentine Tango to Problem by Ariana Grande.  Noah Guthrie sang the song for them in the ballroom. Len says, it was a terrific routine, and we are looking for people to make the finals. He says, you two should be there. Julianne says, she thinks people forget that she's only 17. She says, she loved the guitar in the dance, and she really liked it. Bruno says, she was pushed by Mark, and she did really well. He said he agrees with Len, and they should be back next week. Carrie Ann says, she suited the dance. She says, she's so proud of her. She loves the guitar, and it actually made them even better. Tom says, great job you two, as they go upstairs to Erin for their scores. Erin says, she loves how her grandma says she's away from her big family, and she feels that she's made a bigger family. Sadie says, she surprised herself how much she's grown up, matured, and how far she's come. She says, it's unbelievable, and she's so blessed. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len - 9, Julianne - 10, Bruno - 9. Total 37. Total for the night is 74. Tom says, Sadie's been there just over 9 weeks, and she's matured. He says, he's been there over 9 years and hasn't. We see video of important people in Tommy's life talking about him. There's more dancing after the break. We go to break with people behind the scenes standing next to and by Alfonso, possibly helping him work through his pain.

 

Tommy is looking at a snow globe, and Tom is upstairs with his balcony buddies, when we return to the ballroom. Tommy and Peta dance the Rumba to Tainted Love by Hannah Peel. Tom says, that was so good, and so sweet. Tommy's wife really enjoyed it. Julianne says, there was something magical in that piece. She loves it, and it reminded her of the Nutcracker. Julianne was holding back tears. Bruno tells Peta she did an incredible job. He says, it was great and he loved it. Carrie Ann says, she hasn't cried in a while. She says, she loved it. She says, that was poetry, and it was magic. Peta is wiping her tears away. Len says, he hasn't always been the judges favorite, but he's America's favorite. Len says, no one as old as him will ever get this far on Dancing With The Stars, and who knows, maybe he'll get farther, well done! They go upstairs to Erin for their scores. Erin says, what are you people doing to me? Peta says, she's just so proud of Tommy. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len -8, Julianne - 9, Bruno - 8. Total 34. Total for the night is 62. Erin says, congratulations, and thanks them for moving them to tears.

 

We see video from important people in Bethany's life. Tom says, Behany and Derek will do their Contemporary routine after the break, live.

 

Tom welcomes everyone back to the Semi-Finals. He said we saw Bethany's video before the break, now she performs her unplugged dance with Derek. They dance Contemporary to I Want You Back by The Civil Wars. The audience really cheers for them when they are finished. Tom says, beautifully done you two. Bruno says, this dance should be on permanent display in an art gallery as a masterpiece. Carrie Ann says, she couldn't even blink, it was wonderful. Len says, he loved the props, and he loved it. Julianne says, it was picture perfect. They go upstairs with Erin for their scores. Erin says, it was gorgeous. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 10, Len - 10, Julianne - 10, Bruno - 10. Total 40. Total for the night is 76. Erin says, they've made it this far, and they need votes to go for that Mirror Ball Trophy. We see video from important people in Janel's life. Dancing With The Stars Semi-Finals returns with Carrie Ann taking a selfie with the other judges. Janel and Val dance the Argentine Tango to Blame by Calvin Harris. It is performed by Time for Three live. The crowd cheers for them during their dance, and roars for them at the end of the dance. Tom tells Janel she has the best smile. Carrie Ann says, she is the most dynamic out of the women performers left, and it was wonderful. She says, the lifts bugged her, it was a bit ungraceful, and the audience boos. Len says, he agrees a little with Carrie Ann, but she's an incredible dancer. Julianne says, she loves that Janel has a God-given gift, and no one can take that away from her. She says, she dances with everything she has. Bruno says, there was an incredible chemistry and fluidity in the dance. He says, he loves the lift, and it was totally in tune with the feel of the performance. He says, they did a great job. They go upstairs with Erin for their scores. Erin tells Val he has his shirt open, and he plays the violin, and they have a momentum going. Janel says, they want to keep going, and she wants to win with him. Val has been playing the violin since he was 5, but stopped when he was 17, because it wasn't a chick magnet. He thanks Time for Three for performing for them. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 9, Len - 9, Julianne - 10, Bruno - 10. Total 38. Total for the night is 78. Erin says, they will need votes to help get them to the Mirror Ball Trophy. Tom says, sadly we have to send someone home tonight. The audience boos, and he says, he knows, but that's how they play. The last dance of the night will be Alfonso and Witney. We see video for important people in Alfonso's life. They will dance next, after the break, live.

 

The Semi-Finals for Dancing With The Stars returns for the final dance of the night. Tom welcomes everyone back for Alfonso and Witney's dance. They dance Contemporary to Love Runs Out by OneRepublic. Christina Grimmie sings the song live for them. The audience cheers and whistles for them when they are finished with their dance. Len says, he loves the drama, passion and intensity of that dance. He says, you couldn't tell there was pain, and well done! Julianne commends both of them for both of their dances. She says, they've done amazing. Bruno says, they both always read from the same page, and they are always in tune with each other. He compares them to two instruments being in sync all the time, on the same page of music. He says, they are amazing. Carrie Ann gives a lot of adjectives for them, and says they were amazing. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 10, Len - 9, Julianne - 10, Bruno - 10. Total 39. Total for the night is 75. Tom says, they need votes to go for the trophy.

 

Tom sends them to the stage with the rest of the couples for the elimination. The first couple safe who has made it to the finals is Alfonso and Witney. The next couple who is definitely dancing in the finals is Janel and Val. Joining them in the finals next Monday night is Bethany and Derek. Sadie and Mark and Tommy and Peta are left. On this tenth week of competition, the couple now leaving is Tommy and Peta. The audience boos. Erin calls them down to them. The audience gives them a standing ovation. Tom congratulates them. Erin thanks them for every single week. Peta is crying. Tom says, when he heard the whole cast line up, his name was the one he was most happy about from the 70's. They show highlights of Tommy from the season. Tom tells them to take center stage and take a bow. Tom and Erin recap all of the phone numbers to call to vote for the dancers this week. Janel and Val are at the top of the leader board with 78, and Sadie and Mark are at the bottom of the leader board with 74. Tommy and Peta will be live on Good Morning America and The View. The final two episodes will be on Monday and Tuesday next week. The winner will be crowned. Castle starts next, here on ABC. Tom says, goodnight.
