I watched this show last night. I've always had a fascination with ballroom dancing and whenever I found a televised show (while surfing otherwise who knows when these shows are on?) I watched it. Makes me wish I had stuck with dancing all those years ago as a little girl.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the first couple... hot, hot, hot. Even though all of them had some awkwardness about them I think after 5 weeks it's amazing they looked as good as they did. The other 5 couples had one or the other that I didn't care for but, there's room for improvement.

I look forward to seeing them dance again and to see them get better.... gives me hope that I can take it up again "someday" :D

I really like this show.. This is what I think of everyone tonight..

I know I'm going to spell some names wrong rofl.

Rachel Hunter and her partner: Woah very nice.. :)

Joey Mcintire and his partner: They were very very good.. When Joey was smiling, his face looked stiff.

Trista Sutter and her partner: I don't think she was very sensual. When they were rehearsing she was very uncomfortable and asked her husband what she thought of the routine. Awww that is so sweet. He was fine with it so she should have just relaxed.

John O'hearly and his partner: They were awesome!!!!!! John cracked me up with his facial movements. :)

Kelly Monaco and her partner: Trista did you watch them? Wow! Now they were alot sensual!!! Very good!!! To bad they got kicked off..

Evander Holeyfield (sp) and his partner: I don't think they have any chemistry. That's all I have to say about them.

I really wish the audience would stop booing at the judges.. Let them talk geez. Stop being rude! This is a great show.. I hate the voting system. You are only suppose to vote 5 times? Well I was only able to vote twice. with Rachel hunter and Joey Macentire. The rest of the time it said it didn't go through but my 5 times ran out. WHAT?!!?! This stinks. I'll just vote online. but how many times can you do that tho?

I was doing other things while I was watching this show tonight, but wasn't it Trista that was booted tonight? Kelly and her partner have another chance.

I think those judges have it in for Kelly. She probably won't be there that long. Tonight she did so much better and I agree that she was very sensual.

My favs are John O'Hurley and Rachel Hunter. AND I just get a kick out of watching Evander dance.

Great show! Well...not great. But, a good filler until BB comes on.

Yup Trista was booted.. I wasn't upset when she was booted altho now I won't be able to see her husband.. He is hot.:)

Seems like they do have it in for Kelly. Don't know why tho. Very strange..

Yeah John O'hurley is my fav too! He is so funny. I love him on seinfeld.

Great show! Well...not great. But, a good filler until BB comes on.

Well it's a pretty good show. Why does BB come in july? It should come in June so they have 3 months to be there..

Dancing with the Stars

OK, secret confession time: I love dancing movies. I've watched Strictly Ballroom more than anyone should, and I even kind of liked the J.Lo Shall We Dance? So I was drawn to this bizarre show like a bee to honey. After five weeks of intense training, six celebrities show off their stuff live; then the judges critique them and the audience votes for their favorites. What a nice American Idol substitute. I thought about throwing a pity vote in Kelly Monaco's direction, since the General Hospital star took a beating from the judges. But I'm seriously concerned that with her equilibrium problem she'd have to overdose on Dramamine every week just to stay in the competition. Maybe it's better that she go home and leave the dancing to the professionals, or to Trista, who seems thrilled to have another moment in the limelight, even if it means causing permanent back damage. Did you catch the grateful look on Ryan's face when they panned to him? Sure, some might think he was just proud of his wife, but secretly I think he was thrilled that this wacky adventure didn't involve him so he could just sit on the sidelines.

I'm a bit confused, though, because I thought former New Kid on the Block Joey McIntyre went through this big rigmarole a few years back to be billed as Joe or Joseph. I guess he gave up on that. But all those "Hangin' Tough" moves came in handy; he looked pretty graceful while cha-cha-cha-ing. And the screaming groupies must have prepared him for his swooning partner, who looked positively delighted to strut her stuff with the Beantown boy. In fact, I was pretty impressed with all the male contestants' moves on the dance floor. Even Evander Holyfield seemed markedly improved from his rehearsal sessions and will soon be floating like a butterfly, and John O'Hurley just hammed it up with delicious flare. I wasn't sold on Rachel Hunter's waltz, but seeing the supermodel suffer through lessons was great. My biggest problem is that you have to wait an entire week to hear the results. I'm the queen of little patience and while I'll be tuning in again next Wednesday, the anticipation might drive me crazy, especially if I become obsessed (if I'm not already).

I thought Kelly Monaco was awesome last night.  And even though the judges dont like her for whatever reason (maybe her softporn past?)  the fact that so many of the promos for this show are running during GH is going to keep her in for awhile I think.

I am hoping Evander is the next to go.  He sort of just stands there while his partner dances around him.  I was sad that he outlasted Trista -- I thought she did a decent job and I have to admit I loved her princess dress.  :D

Kelly Monaco has a softporn past?? Do tell!!! I watch her on GH all the time and never even knew....

Anyway, I thought that Kelly performed better the second time around so I was also suprised by the judges' votes and comments.

I was, however, definitely shocked to see Trista voted off. I guess America has finally grown weary of seeing her on tv

I thought Evander was horrible last week. He looked stiff and very uncomfortable. I read somewhere (I think it was Andy Dehnart) that Trista had posted on her web site a plea to all her fans to vote for her. The fact she was voted off before Evander and Kelly, who was at the bottom with votes, doesn't say much for her plea, does it..

I was kind of surprised tonight. I thought Kelly's jive was much better than Joeys and I am not sure I get the Johnathan thing either. Hes good but so far he has done fairly similar routines each week. IMHO the men have an advantage because they dont have to do all the turns and twists.

I am rooting for Kelly but of all the dancers I think the best one is Rachel Hunter.

Dancing with the Stars

"G.I." Joey jumped over Ashly's head. Wow. Didn't see that one coming, or the period costume. The young couple both looked like they were having so much fun out there. He and John are by far the most fun celebs to watch, so I was biting my nails when it came down to the New Kid and the boxer in the bottom two. I was about ready to start writing my diatribe about this stupid voting system that allows people to vote for people they like, regardless of their dancing abilities. I mean, I like Evander Holyfield, and I think it is pretty amazing that he even attempted this show, but he's never going to gain the grace and lightness that you need to be a ballroom dancer. As for all the people who wrote in to tell me that they voted for Kelly because they were GH fans? Yeah, I get that, but it seems to go against the purpose of the show, which is to reward dancers based on a specific performance. If the audience vote for Kelly that was revealed tonight were actually based on her upbeat little jive instead of last week's less-than-perfect rumba, I'd be happier. And sure I understand that she's working hard, but all of the couples out there are amateurs, and before this week, her progression was seriously slower than the others'. Meanwhile, I'm wondering if John O'Hurley's serious about that Speedo comment; that certainly would add some spice to the show. And speaking of needing a little flavor, can someone please tell the band in the background to put a little more spunk in their music? Right now they are like the group you'd rent for your prom, and for a big national TV show, it would be nice if they were at least the kind you'd want at your wedding. AC

Here is what I think about last night's show.. When I wrote down all the information on a piece of paper I put a star with the ones I liked beside their name..

Evander Holyfield and his partner: Evander is still stiff while his partner wow her dancing is hot. :) They still don't have any chemistry. Well he is gone now so I guess people agree with me. I think he is better in the boxing ring.

Rachel Hunter and Johnathan Roberts: Hey they were very good. She has got great long legs. :) 1 star.

Kelly Monaco and alec: Wow they were very very good. Finally the judges like her geez. It's like pulling teeth with them. 1 star..

John O'Herley and Charlotte: WOW!!!! THEY WERE AWESOME!!! John is still making those facial expressions that crack me up. They are my fav! They were my fav since day one! 4 STARS!!! :) Why is her name spelled charlotte when they pronounce it charlotta?

Joey Mcintire and Ashly: They were good altho Joey still has his face stiff. He has to learn to relax. 1 star.

I voted for John and Charlotte.. when did new kids on the block come out? I think it was 1987 and I was 13. I was so confused back then because I was thinking don't we already have a band called new kids on the block? Or maybe they are called old kids on the block. I could have sworn I heard the band new kids on the block before.. Okay maybe I was wrong back then ROFL.

Oh and I waited until 10:21 to vote on the phone and I didn't have a problem this time. Guess i will just have to wait until that time to vote. :)

Wow -- didnt see that one coming. Definately thought Joey was going home and he wasnt even bottom 2.

All I can say is Kelly Monaco rocked tonight. IMHO she blew everyone away and after tonight I could see her winning the whole shooting match.

Well I dont know about the "soap freaks" but I think that the judges have given Joey and before him Evander lots of leeway but came down on Kelly hard. Each week she takes it gracefully and uses the instructions that they gave her (like ballet classes) to improve. I dont think Rachel deserved to go home -- like I said I thought Joey should have gotten the boot as he looks like hes doing broadway choreography instead of ballroom, but Kelly definately deserved number one tonight. Her routine was the most difficult and her rhythm and hip movement were better than anyone elses, including Rachel. Johnathan seems to do virtually the same dance every week and Joey jumps all over the place. So if I had been a judge I would have scored it virtually the same way these judges did.

Oh and even if none of the "soap freaks" voted for kelly and she came in dead last on the popular vote, she still wouldnt have gone home with a number one placement from the judges.

Kelly was awesome...nice save with the wardrobe malfunction! She works hard and gets better and better each week. I'm glad that the judges finally appreciated her effort and her style. Her hip movements were damn sexy! John was uncharacteristically stiff tonight and I agree with the judges, his footwork was messy. Joey's goofy facial expressions (the one where his mouth is wide open and his eyebrows are raised in mock surprise) while he was dancing were annoying and he always puts just a little bit too much gusto into the dance routines. I really thought he'd be the one to go. Oh well. Rachel, I always said is a bit too tall and awkward looking to truly be graceful, although I do think that she's good. I was surprised to see her go.

Shocker

Thought it would be Joey too.

Even as big as Rachel is... she has the grace of a natural dancer IMHO.

You've got to give Kelly credit for keeping her cool when the top of her .... umm, dress came apart (seems like she had a problem with her dress last week too).

And what is up with those judges ? John would look stupid at his age wiggeling his pelvis around with his size and age !

I've really been impressed with how much hard work these celebs have put into this. I thought I'd end up bashing it ..... but, it turned out to be one of the better reality shows they've thrown together latley.

My thoughts.. :)

Joey Mcentire and his partner: eh. They were okay. Joey's face looks so stiff and annoying. They weren't the best.

Rachel and her partner: Wow their dancing was so sloooooow. It's like pick up the pace. I didn't think they were going to get booted out.. I thought Joey and his partner were going to get booted.

John O'hearly and partner: LOVE THEM! 4 STARS. :) They had less votes along with Rachel. :( But whew he is safe. :)

Kelly Monaco and her partner: They were pretty good. She almost had a wardrobe malfunction. That is what I always worry about with those dresses they wear.. She was good at covering it up rofl.

Then all of them danced together. they were pretty good. Glad they could change cus wow poor kelly rofl.

:rofl I only just noticed that tonight, sonyab, Joey's facial expressions. They did make him look rather goofy.

I thought for sure he would be the one to go tonight. Rachel might have been not as graceful tonight but Joey was all over the place as the judges said (ok that was for the last number where they weren't being judged but he annoyed me tonight).

Kelly was terrrific tonight. She really nailed that number and she handled the dress malfunction perfectly. She deserved to stay. I think she has been improving every week. I do like John but tonight he seemed rather, as someone said earlier, stiff. Like he had too much starch in his tux.

Great show!

I liked Joey's dance tonight. I thought he and his partner did a great job. I'm glad he gets to stay. They seemed to move quite well and with ease.

Rachel? Well....I used to like her, but she seemed to get worse with each show. Tonight she seemed very nervous.

I thought Kelly did very well despite her wardrobe malfunction! She was having a fabulous time and seemed to hit all the steps just right.

John..I love John, but tonight he was my least favorite. Now, HE has some facial expressions that are annoying. He was very stiff and his footwork just wasn't there. He's still my favorite though, and I hope he does better next week.

I hope John and Kelly go to the final two. Should be interesting.

What do you mean, Lauren, by broadway? Too flamboyant? Too showy? I never really noticed him before tonight. And I didn't think he was bad, just though Rachel would have stuck around for another week.
