Blue Iris (aka Ellen Niemer Pinsky) (January 21, 1947 - April 22, 2009), a 62-year-old woman from Burbank, California, formerly employed in the fashion industry. As Blue Iris, she performed in "granny porn", and sidelined as a stand-up comic with her comedy troupe 'The Ding Dong Show' while clad in a blue wig. She reportedly had shock therapy in her 20s which she blames for her many ailments.

Blue Iris began her porn career at age 54 when a neighbor suggested her for a role in a "granny porn" video. She was discovered by the Howard Stern Show and she made her first Stern Show appearance on February 4, 2004.

In 2006 Blue Iris gained "Wack Pack" status. On October 18, 2006, Artie Lange engaged in a ten second French kiss on-camera with Blue Iris, to settle a bet made with pro wrestler Chris Kanyon when the New York Yankees failed to advance past the New York Mets in the 2006 Major League Baseball playoffs.

Blue was a life-long smoker who suffered from emphazeyma. On January 30, 2007 "Howard 100 News" (on Howard Stern Sirius channel 100) reported that Iris was hospitalized after suffering a stroke. On January 31, 2007 she called Stern's show to explain that she was experiencing weakness on her left side, as well as impaired verbal and math skills. In 2008 she had a 7 pound tumor removed from one of her ovaries.

Blue suffered a heart attack on April 19, 2009. According to one of her friends on Twitter, Tonya Moon, she went into cardiac arrest and was put on life support. She apparently went brain dead, and passed away sometime after noon today.

Friends are posting their condolences on her web site at: http://www.myspace.com/officialblueiris Her profile lists her martial as "single" although Blue is survived by her husband, Ron, of twenty-five years.

Still hanging on!

According to an AM report on the Howard Stern Show, Blue Iris is still on life support and alive. Her husband has given the hospital a "do not resuscitate order." I got the info that she has passed from The Post Chronicle, http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original...212224953.shtml
