Episode 3.25: An Invisible Thread (Season finale)

Airdate: April 27, 2009

  • 04/23 - It's a major character [who dies], and the death definitely sticks. But there is a twist. (Hint: It's possible no one will be leaving the show.) Source: The Ausiello Files
  • 04/22 - According to Greg Grunberg, "The last two episodes are absolutely huge. My character is asked to do something, and does something, that is incredibly dark and results in the demise of another character. It's not expected. It's pretty sick. Torture is involved. It's someone we all know. It felt great to tap into my dark side." [...] Sources confirm to us that the Heroes death that sticks is male, and he's someone you've definitely come to know quite well since season one. In many ways, the killer also dies, but you'll just have to wait until next week to understand what that means. Source: Kristin on E!Online
  • 04/22 - The season finale of Heroes find the demonic shape-shifter [sylar] turning into Sen. Nathan Petrelli in order to shake hands with the president of the United States and take command of the country. There's also time for a little skin-crawling romance. "Sylar corners Claire and springs a proposal on her," creator and executive producer Tim Kring tells TV Guide. "He has this theory that she will come to love him because he can never die and she can never die -- and thus, they're destined to be together." The hour ends with a teaser for "Redemption," the next story arc in the series. "We will flash-forward three months and see the return of a character a lot of fans thought would never come back," Kring says. "We also see Sylar shape-shifting yet again, and who he becomes is a real shocker. It's the goofiest thing we've done yet -- and I mean that in a good way!" Source: TV Guide
  • 04/22 - Sylar will kill a Season 1 Character. We will see more of Matt's darkside. Hiro and Ando combine their powers in attempt to take down Building 26. Nathan and Sylar will face-off. Actor Michael Dorn returns as the President. Tracy will return. The end of the episode will lead into Volume 5: Redemption and we will meet the new female baddie. Source: SpoilerTV
  • 04/13 - "The baby and his family is the reason Parkman is going to do something in the last episode that he may regret for the rest of his life," [Greg] Grunberg says. "It's a huge story that we play out - something that only a guy who's been pushed and is desperate to save his family would ever do." So how does the recently resurfaced Janice - Parkman's cheating ex-wife who disappeared early in Season 2 - figure into this family unit? "We've got a lot of stuff to do," Grunberg says. "It's definitely a strained relationship. It's going to take some time and some real emotional scenes for them to get back together. But I think that's what people are going to want to see. I think when Janice finds out that Matt's been thinking about her and just wanting this relationship so bad, that it's going to work." But Grunberg suggests getting through their past issues won't happen overnight. The actor revealed that Janice has even more secrets than viewers may have guessed, especially relating to the "touch and go" powers of the couple's baby. "It's going to take some work," Grunberg says. "How much can you trust a person who was dishonest with you? She's got secrets of her own - Janice is not as simple a character as everybody thinks. Where did those diamonds go in Season 1? There's a lot of things we don't know. We made a baby with powers together, and I don't think that's a one-sided thing." Source: TV Guide Online
  • 04/13 - "We will have a little surprise in store for you," [actor James Kyson Lee] said. "Basically, Ando and Hiro's goal is to take down whoever is behind Building 26 and take down the bad guys, and both of us are going to try to combine our powers and see if we can make it happen." Wow, I gotta hand it to the writers-they figured out a clever way to keep Nathan on the show, even though he's dead, and Sylar dead, even though he's alive. What mother would want her son personified in the body of the person who murdered him anyway? Why, Angela Petrelli, of course! Which leads to the main (and possibly only) reason I would tune in to watch the show next season (if there is a next season)- to see Peter's reaction when he finds out what Mommy and Matt did. :mad1:

It certainly won't be to watch the continuing saga of Nicky, Jessica and Tracy's latest incarnation... :P
