crustylugholes
Sounds like a flagrant rip off of 'Hell's kitchen', right down to the surly British chef.
georgectv
it's actually a flagrant ripoff of Last Restaurant Standing, which is a reality show we stumbled across on the BBC-America channel we have on Dish Network. We have seen about 4 episodes of Last Restaurant Standing, and it's been very enjoyable to watch. It started with 9 couples competing for 8 spots on the show. One week they are shown trying to run their restaurant. The next week, 3 teams are selected as the worst and compete in a challenge, with the losing team having their restaurant closed. From the BBC website... Last Restaurant Standing Hopefully The Chopping Block will be as enjoyable as Last Restaurant Standing has been for us. cablejockey
I like the idea of the two restaurants competing, instead of two teams in one kitchen cooking for one restaurant. I've come to the sad conclusion, that I'll watch just about any reality show, so I may as well add this one too.
hnybny91
Well, this show got axed (or chopped...haha) after just three episodes. I watched the first one and thought it was very boring. Aparently I wasn't the only one.
Dade
Courtesy of: THE FUTON CRITIC NBC CHOPS "BLOCK" AFTER THREE WEEKS By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC) [03.26.09 - 09:45 PM] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC has put "The Chopping Block" on... the chopping block. Scheduling updates released this evening indicate repeats of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" will assume the show's Wednesday, 8:00/7:00c slot effective immediately. "Block" was the least-watched program on the night for the second week in a row (save for a repeat of The CW's "90210"), posting a series low 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 on Wednesday. It's not clear when - or if - the five remaining installments in the competition will be aired.
