Fatcat Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I agree with it is a tv show get over it, and yes some people have waayy too much time on their hands obviously, and that includes me,lol but I do differ that dan has not been mean spirited, he has and some think I am crazy, but he put that mantis unter a hot glass to observe the bug, and do not tell me that bug did not suffer, that is mean and I don't care if he is a bio teacher you can only say so much in defense of that kind of crap, that is something maybe a kid does and in all innocence, but not an adult and if you think it was nothing, well to each his own, I am tellin you I beleive that anyone who shows that kind of disregrd for any kind of life has a mean streak. And BigMDgirl, post away, it is just how some post around here that po's me, has nothing to do with what your opinion is, it is when everybody should think the way some do or you are excluded and shunned and constantly having stuff thrown out here to prove that by God they are right, an opinion is an opinion, it does not have to be proven or dis proven. oh and by the way when I say it is a show and some people have to much time on their hands, I am saying that with humor, I am at the top of the list, maybe even the only one on my list, lol, but it is true we come here to post and some folks have a great way of getting across what they want to say without hurting feelings and ruffling feathers, but some on here just come out and rip what you say to shreds and it tends to make a person feel crappy. Some say thier opinions better than others and I am one who appericates the people who can keep a sense of humor and also not just ignor me like I am the plague the whole BB season, just sayin
GingerSnaps Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Yeah, I thought that was a side to Dan never seen before with the mantis. But, I just think he's an ahole and was acting like an ahole---he had those nudgy, annoying ways and the mantis was done to get under the others skins. Yeah, maybe he is a sicko, but the mantis thing doesn't qualify him for losing his job. JMHO!
LenRay Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Hi, Sam! Yes, Dan saying he wore that Shirt to "stay in good with the school" Sounds like a "Hail, Mary" pass to me! Kind of like McCain picking Palin. Wonder what Dan will think about a woman on his ticket? Maybe Dan just didn't want Hillary as opposed to any woman, which when it comes to foreign policy in Middle East, women are not respected. I thought Condeleeza and that woman Sec of State Madylyn Albright, although both very smart, being women just don't go with Mid East. Also Palin may do it for McCain, although McCain doesn't enjoy not being the media darling she is. I saw some event last week McCain was speaking first, but the audience knew Palin was "in the building" and the crowd started chanting "-Sarah, Sarah..." before McCain had finished his speech and I noticed a look of..."snippiness" on McCain's face. But between Dan and Memphis I would chose Dan. I'd prefer Renney and Keesha to be F2 but the Queen Renney and the Princess Keesha have sailed! Can't wait to hear Memphis pleading his case with Jury..."Uhhhh...mmmm...Wow, Dudes and Dudettes, I don't know." But it won't change any of our lives, kind of like whoever wins election the "military industrial complex" will still be running the good old USA! Sugar B,Fat Cat, hope you two haven't been drowned out by that storm! Maybe Bush will be in your neighbor hood for a photo op!!!
YosemiteSam Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I'm sorry Sam! I really do respect your opinion, and I really do look forward to your posts. Even when they don't reflect my feelings. I think everyone else has made more of an issue of his religion in the house than he has! Lord knows we've had our share of bible thumpers in the house throughout the years. I've just never lost sight of the fact that this whole Big Brother thing is truly a social experiment of throwing a bunch of diverse personalities together, remove all external stimulae, and sit back and wait for the fireworks! I believe it's largely manipulated by production to make it more entertaining for the public! So don't give up on the show, and please don't give up on us Mortyites! It's our individual opinions that make this such a nice place to visit! Sono- The religion banter was about a question I had asked LEN. Wasn't particularly about Dan, but kind of considering how he brought up being Catholic. It was a question for discussion but has turned into bashing. I don't take this personally. I get spit on, cussed out, attacked, yelled at, shot at this is fun for me. Suppose to be a release, and it is. I've said nothing bad about the Dan lovers, just Dan himself. But some people take it personal like they are dating or related to them. The point was missed and is now off and running in a whole other direction. Psssssttttt.... Did I tell you I can't stand the little Rat? LOL All in fun SONO- well, for some.
sonoerin Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Psssssttttt.... Did I tell you I can't stand the little Rat? LOL Ummmmmmm - Maybe!
YosemiteSam Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 LOL, on that note off to work. You guys have a great night keep up the sense of humor, we can fight later
uvp Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 good debate it was getting dead around here jmho
ElleNaturelle Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Yo, your points about speeding and breaking the law while being a police officer are right..I didn't think about that. I do see what you're saying, I just don't see the things Dan has done as being bad though. He lied to Ollie yes, but in his head, he was being strategic to call others out and see where they stood. At the time I didn't like this whole move, but it did serve it's purpose. If he was being a complete slug, sexing it up with ppl, being vulgar, gross, and a pig, then ya, I'd say his character is called into question. But I found him to be nice, polite, and funny. He's like a big little kid... I think at times when he's being silly (like that time he was to Renny), ppl misunderstand it. I don't think any of it is done with mal intent though. As for his comments made before the show...if you want to bring in the bible where women in there have no rights basically and are owned by their husbands without a voice...then we can... but even I don't believe that. I think ppl twist what's written in sacred scripture to serve their own purposes. I'm not going to sit here and do that for the sake of a discussion lol....hey, I do have standards... lmao (literally) @ Sono...you're one funny poster!
GingerSnaps Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Maybe Dan just didn't want Hillary as opposed to any woman Maybe so, and I feel the same way. As a New Yorker I know Hillary did crap for my state so why would I want her running my country....does that make me a woman hater? To show how personal people take the game....Dan was disliked at the start of the game just because of his views but then posters came around. Skreesha was disliked too until she got on the wagon and was thought of furthering his game. I never liked Jerry myself until I thought he could wipe out Skreesha, Dan and/or Memphis. While some condemn Jerry for leaving his wife, those same people said crap about Libra leaving her infants. There are those who dislike hg's cursing, yet curse like sailors on other sites. Eh, I don't know where I am going with all this and I guess I am saying that opinions can change about hgs at anytime. I choose to dislike them all from the start and if my opinion changes during the game (rarely) it's a pleasant surprise for me. JMO!
Fatcat Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 it is all good you guys, it does get a tad heated in here sometimes, I do not think anyone meant or means any personl vendetta to each other. I am not in with all the religion part of this argument, but I will say this Dan has put himself in the public eye, and I am not sure he has personally done any real harm to his job, but I have said before, BB is a cheesy game show, I sure would not want it out there on my resume of things that I have accomplished. Do I find it facinating?? well yeah, and it is an experment in human nature and a lot of what if's? I will always watch it, and I will always come here in spite of how the boards go, or if i am majority or minority. OK I am off to work too, y'all have fun now, be back laatteerr
sonoerin Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Eh, I don't know where I am going with all this I choose to dislike them all from the start and if my opinion changes during the game (rarely) it's a pleasant surprise for me. You have GOT to start watching Survivor
ElleNaturelle Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 We need to light some candles, hug, and sing... Editted to add: then we'll rip out eachother's hair....to keep uvp amused
LenRay Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Hi, Ginger! Yes Jerry flicked Keesha out just like she was another one of his millions of other boogers. J to K: "You ain't the first, baby, and you won't be the last!!!" What I would love to see is a shot of Bill C. "glad handing" Sarah Palin!!!
sonoerin Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 BB is a cheesy game show, I sure would not want it out there on my resume of things that I have accomplished OMG Fatcat! You are also the Mistress of Understatement!
GingerSnaps Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 And say a few "Hail Mary's" and "Our Father's." You have GOT to start watching Survivor I'll try it...I have emotions vested in this show now; I've posted in the threads.
LenRay Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Yes, Elle, we should all go to one of those Mystery Murder Weekends...maybe combine that with a Hurricane Party...
sonoerin Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 lmao (literally) @ Sono...you're one funny poster! Once a butt man, always a butt man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fatcat Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 OMG Fatcat! You are also the Mistress of Understatement yes sono and I wear that badge proud, lololol, you gave me a great laugh for the drive to work, see now that's what I'm talkin bout, lol
GingerSnaps Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I actually did know where I was going with all that: "he who cast the first stone......" I don't think Dan is a bad person, it would have showed.
LenRay Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Dan could have been a lot more obnoxious. Does Monica about Dan's pet Scorpions????
sonoerin Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I've seen you call BB a cheesy gameshow before, and it cracks me up everytime. I just can't help it though, BB is like one of my guilty pleasures!
Marty Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 BB also sure does take away from a persons love life too. just sayin
Fatcat Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 well mine too Sono, absolutely cheesy or not, I love it,lolol It has really become a cult classic, like underground, no body at work talks avbout it openly but I know who watches, lolol
sonoerin Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I don't think Dan is a bad person, it would have showed. I think that's the biggest thing Ginger. Dan is the same age as My youngest son. I see the same mischievious side in him. My son is a great person and a wonderful son! He's got a mischievious side though that can make you crazy, but it's one of the things I love the most about him BB also sure does take away from a persons love life too I've seen some of your post over on the Survivor board Marty! I think you'll be just fine
