Hey I noticed Mario seemed really into Karina also, it seems all her partners do. :dance2:

He was all hands. Seems like a touchy feely kind of guy.

I really don't like Karina either. I don't think I can put a finger on exactly what it is. A combination of her voice, her hard, jerky dancing, or how she can seem to be showcasing herself rather than her partner?

And I'm sorry -- I know everyone says that hip hop, or other styles of dancing won't help you in ballroom, but come on. This guy is obviously comfortable performing in this way, so he is at a clear advantage. Doesn't mean he'll win, but you can't tell me it isn't a bit easier for him, than for a football player, or an actor, or any other type of celebrity who's craft doesn't involve intricate dancing.

I would expect Jason Taylor to be better at soccer or baseball than someone who had no athletic experience at all. So the same goes for dancing.

But I'm not holding it against him because there have been lots of stars who have had a variety of dance experience. I don't know where they draw the line, or how they determine who is too 'professional' to be on the show. They have their rules and that's fine. But I don't like it when they act like they are all on the same playing field.

Why I don't like Karina:

1. She always looks like she's smelling something rotten.

2. She had a crappy attitude when she lost to Cheryl & Emmet Smith in the finale.

3. I don't like romantic partner hookups. It's such a cliche.

I agree Marty...I think that they are really hard on him and I don't know why!!! I'm not crazy for Karina (the scowl, attitude, facial expressions, etc.) but it is her choreography.

I have to say that I think the music has about 50% to due with the enjoyment of the routine. If I don't like the music, it's harder for me to enjoy the routine...JMO

I am not an expert dancing judge, but it seems to me that Mario doesn't get as good of scores as he deserve. He and Karina are fun to watch and yesterday they did a terrific job but just didn't quite see the scores I thought they should get.

Romantic Partner hookups? Perhaps I am completely out of the loop here but at least watching the show I have not seen evidence of this. Even if they are romantically linked, as long as they stick to dancing on the show, I am not sure what difference it makes or even if it is anybody's business.

I'm shocked that he went home before Marissa- that shouldn't have happened. Oh well.

I loved his classy exit with a nod to our troops though.

I'm pleased with this elimination. I've already voiced my dislike of Karina, but lately I felt Mario thought he was much better than he actually was. I do believe, though, that this team fell victim to the injured Christian pity vote.

Several posters have mentioned they don't like Karina because of her scowls, etc. While I don't know her personally, I am guessing she is a perfectionist and her scowls are in reference to her own critique of herself. Many performers these days have learned the professional advice which is to smile and look pleasant no matter what. Even politicians learn to smile while they are being grilled because if people turn down the sound on the TV, they are unable to distinguish if the person is happy or in trouble if they are always smiling. Things must be good if they are smiling, right?

Obviously Karina has not learned this lesson or needs more work on it. Regardless, this seems like a less important point to make than scoring her dancing overall.

In my opinion, Mario should have made the finals and I was sorry to see him go. Last season I was disappointed when Sabrina was eliminated early and when Mel didn't win the contest overall. I guess I have to console myself with the thought that this is a contest with professional judges AND public input as well. Marie Osmond made it to the finals after all, but personally I didn't feel she deserved it, even though I agree she tried very hard.
