I'm not complaining that that they aren't there. I'm defending the original poster of this tread who asked if they were any shots yet. Others jumped on him/her. I'm just saying Americans in general are so uptight on this issue. CBS has all but advertised this show as T&A with things like lettuce leaf bikinis.

My 5 year old granson watches and loves BB. If there was nudity he would not be allowed to watch. Sorry all but I feel todays youth doesn't need to see nudity on general tv, they see enough of it on cable, dish, dvd and movie theaters. If BB were not on general tv there might be some nudity.

Big Brother is not wholesome family entertainment. It never has been. In the beginning it might have been acceptable for kids to watch. But, the antics of the houseguests, the general raunchy direction the show has taken really does make it adult entertainment. And yes, I do find it entertaining, but I don't pop popcorn, and gather the family to watch! Thankfully, the kids have no interest in the show and wonder what is wrong with me, because I do. :wink:

But I always thought if you had the feeds, you could see nudity, if they were willing to show it. So they censor it? Have they always?

I have been lurking for some days and read a lot what you guys were posting. I didn't intend to write anything, but now I was just too provoked.

This hypocritical attitude by some writers is just upsetting me. I am german, so obviously from one of the countries one of the writers referred to in his post. We have nudity all over the place, in many magazines even on the cover, and they are laying out for sale (and for looking at) in the supermarkets. We have of course naked bodies on TV, and as long it is not pornographic (I know, you cannot understand the difference between porn and nudity, I really feel sorry for you!), nobody will ever think anything bad about it.

Actually, I am offended by the violence that children are taught here. They are taught to hold weapons, even children are allowed to shoot with real guns. That is wrong, so wrong!

So, coming back to BB, in Germany it failed DESPITE heavy nudity. The producers thought naively when they just put up pornstars (from real hardcore movies) and pretty Bimbos, they will have the garantee something's going to happen. Yeah, and it happened. So what? Nobody cared! It was still a collection of idiots, with nothing to talk about, because their heads were empty. It was plain boring to watch, so in the end nobody did anymore. Only the first season was really big, that was 5 years ago.

Earlier this year they started to make an "endless" BB, with no end in sight. They were casting people who were willing to become parents on TV, including getting pregnant etc. It did not help, nobody cared. The show will be cancelled soon, maybe is already cancelled (don't know the latest on it).

Anyway, what I wanted to express was, that for non-americans this prudish american attitude is plain ridiculous.

First, to SurfGranny, I actually found Jack to be a very attractive man and would have loved to have seen what he was packing. So please don't play the age card. I think men and women of all ages are attractive.

As for showing nudity on the TV show, I never said that should be done. Although I think america is WAY too uptight about nudity (i.e. Janet Jacksons very hot boob), I never said it should be on the televised show. What I was saying is the same as I have said for the past few seasons. We pay money for the 24/7 feeds. The feeds are advertised on the show as completely uncensored. See everything that you can't see on tv (which implies nudity). There is a warning when you enter the feeds that says you MUST be 21 to view (again, the hint that there will be nudity), but anytime there is something even coming close, they go to fish or "we'll be right back" or they switch to people sleeping.

These folks sign up to have people watch them 24/7. I am sure that their contract has something in it stating that they may be naked and on the internet for the rest of their lives and they signed it. How many times have we seen the live feeds focus on the girls breasts, the mens crotches, the parts of the body that people find sexy? Yes, whether you wanmt to admit it or not, you are a voyeur if you have the live feeds. You want to see the disgusting, crude, sexist, bigoted, naked truth about the folks in the house. Otherwise you would not have handed over your money to Real Player.

I DO watch the other versions of BB via the web and it is so common to see nudity. Hell, on BB Australia this season, the shower is a like a huge locker room and ALL of the HG's shower together and it is shown.

Hmmm, how many of you that are dissing me for bringing this up have clicked on the link here on Mortys to see Josh in Playgirl? Jases fruit bath? Scott's pictorial? Amanda and Daves heated night? Does that make you a perv too? Hw many of you (including ScottishTxn who I do like) commented last season on the size of Scott's willie? Guess you would have had to have seen it to make a comment? So that means that you clicked on the link as well.

I am not looking for porn, there are plenty of sites for that. I am looking to see everything regarding the houseguests. They put themselves out there, they make comments about themselves, I wanna see. That is part of why BB is successful. We are ALL voyeurs.

Just for example, Both Eric and Howie have made comments over and over about how small they are "down there". So they brought it up. But for people who sure aren't interested, many people commented when Howie popped a tent in his shorts. Hmmm, not interested in that stuff, but sure willing to post a ton about it. Or mock them as we saw last year with Scott.

Why doesn't everyone get honest and just say that they enjoy watching for whatever reason, and not bash anyone who watches for different reasons?

If half the world hates us for not knowing all the facts .. then I am not very pleased with half the world. Not everyone who lives here cared about the Janet Jackson thing. Half the people in this country think George Bush is a moron, and are against us having gone to war. To say that Iraq has never done anything to the US .. is well. Not completely truthful either.

But all of that is besides the point. And are points probably best addressed in another thread.

Personally -- I have never understood why people freak out about sex and swear words so much. Why are some swear words ok (like bitch) while others are not? I could understand a parent objecting to watching the hg's perform a strip dance followed by hard core sex. But I can not understand the big deal with someone watching the feeds seeing an occasional boob .. or ass as someone is changing and or taking a shower on the live feeds.

I think CBS as a network would reserve the right to edit that stuff out of their tv broadcasts if they dont' want it aired but I don't see why it's a huge deal if it's seen occasionally on the live feeds.

I have always wondered why girls take their clothes off when actors get busy in movies, and you see their bodies -- but you never see a man's mister happy the way you do in british films.

But I digress. I don't have children at the moment .. but I don't think that nudity will be considered a big deal in my house when I have them. I don't feel the need to 'protect' a child from what we all have anyway. It's normal. And it should be celebrated as something beautiful, instead of being looked down upon as something sleazey or not quite right. Telling people to cover up, all the time I think does create an attitude where people can be more prone to being uptight, or self concious about their bodies.

I think as with everything -- it's about balance. Children should not be protected from knowning that there are bad things in this world -- but neither should they be exposed to purely bad things, so that they experience the sensation that being violent, or manipulative, or backstabbing is an 'ok' thing.

I think that BB and the charchters choices to be manipulative, backstabbing, using their sex appeal to get what they want, etc is a great opening for some parents to discuss with their kids why such behavior is wrong ..

Nudity or not, the show and the cast still needs to be good. I personally liked Jack, but apparently CBS had other ideas. The BB producers obviously don't feel he was good ratings - otherwise why all the eye candy? No one over 50 has appeared on BB since, which if you've been reading this board, you know I think sucks. My point is, nudity won't boost ratings - interesting cast interaction would.

This year's cast is beefcake and bimbos and boring as all hell. If they'd gotten interesting bimbos or interesting beefcake, it might have been a different story, but it is not. I don't think nudity would save this season.

9:26 AM BBT: Yvette said CBS said they're not running a porn site. If they are careful by not getting too comfortable or complacent about being naked the cameras will not pick it up. The cameras will usually change when they change and the shower camera will only be used if they are talking in there.

I'm talking about Playboy, Penthouse, etc. not porno movies. If all they want to see is nudity then why not stick with those magazines? You'll get a lot more nudity, it'll be a clearer shot and it'll be people who are being paid to be nude. I don't see what the big deal is anyway. As far as I can tell they're all regular people with regular people-parts. What's so great about seeing them naked as opposed to seeing the people in porn magazines? But I mean if you're really desperate just spy on your neighbours or something.
