Big Brother Season 26 - Episode 32 - Power of Veto

Recommended Posts

Previously on Big Brother, with the power back up for grabs, Makensy stacked up another win. But soon after, poor JANKIE was terminated, revealing the rageful red return of AINSLI. With only seven remaining, the House had three factions: The trio of Chelsie, Makensy, and Cam, the duo of Kimo and Rubina, and the blonde bombshells, Angela and Leah.

The Construction Site Manager was looking to build a strong path to the end and she had a pawn and target in mind. But Chelsie was out for a different prey and worked hard to get Leah on the block. At the Nomination Ceremony, Makensy kept her eye on the prize.

Tonight is a special 90-minute episode where the Power of Veto is on the line. Will it be used to save Kimo or Angela from eviction? Plus, in a shocking appearance, Julie Chen Moonves appears to give the Houseguests a dire warning. All this right now on Big Brother!

Makensy reiterates she has a good relationship with Leah and Angela's resume is a threat. Angela had a glimmer of hope but Makensy isn't willing to make big moves. She's fought too hard and is so over crying, she says, as she admonishes herself for crying.

In the BY upstairs, Kimo confided in Rubina about his unease being on the block next to Angela, expressing feelings of being expendable. Though Rubina reassured him she would use the Veto on him if she won, Kimo insisted he wouldn’t ask for that favor.

Meanwhile, Makensy aimed to keep her real target, Angela, a secret from Leah, hoping to keep Leah's loyalty to her. She assures Leah that Kimo is her target. In the Storage Room, Leah tells Angela that Makensy said she was safe. Leah committed to using the Veto on her.

In a humorous moment, Rubina climbs up on the kitchen counter to retrieve a container of food powder mix. She lobs it back up where it lands squarely on the top of the refrigerator. Take that, Kobe, she says.

In the HoH, Makensy talked to Chelsie about how Angela and Kimo are taking being nominated. Chelsie tells Makensy that as long as neither Angela nor Leah wins and uses the Veto, she's fine. Privately, Chelsie says Leah needs to go on the block this week. Makensy just wants a regular week.

At the ceremony to select Veto players, Makensy chose Cam as her Houseguest Choice, while Kimo, who hoped to pick Rubina, instead pulled Leah's name.  Angela picked Chelsie’s chip, leaving Rubina to host the competition.

After witnessing Angela's sad attempt to work out in the gym in preparation for the competition, she quickly gives up. In HoH, Cam promised to be ready to go when it was time to go. Chelsie pressed Makensy about why Leah wasn’t nominated, but Makensy stood firm, fearing that Leah’s eviction would hurt her jury management. She was trying to play an honest and faithful game, Makensy told them.

Privately, Chelsie said her one goal was for the Veto to be used and to get Makensy to put Leah up on the block so she could send her home. It's time to go to work, she threatened. But Makensy told her she just doesn't have the heart to do it.

Houseguests learned that the Veto competition winner and three Houseguests of their choosing will enjoy a screening of the movie, The Wild Robot. After watching a movie trailer, the Houseguests were excited to have the opportunity to experience some outside entertainment. Kimo was especially taken by the animation.

Roz the Robot greeted the Veto players in the Basement one at a time. In a challenge themed around interpreting animal language, the Houseguests had to listen to sounds coming from three characters from the movie, then translate three words into human, which provided clues as to what item the animal needed. The Houseguest to correctly retrieve all three animals' items in the fastest time would win.

The three animals are Fink, a fox, Pinktail, an opossum, and Brightbill, a bird.  There is a translation station inside the lodge where different buttons for each animal produce sounds. By identifying the button that replicates the sound made by the animal, you obtain a clue to the item you need to retrieve.

The correct items were a grass nest for Brightbill, a pair of red pears for Fink, and two lost children for Pinktail. Leah performed well early, but Chelsie struggled, while Cam and Kimo faced setbacks with incorrect answers. I don't speak animal, Kimo wailed. Makensy, despite her desire to retain power, fared no better than her competitors. Angela's performance was in a class by herself, talking her way through the competition. No task is impossible, Roz said encouragingly.

The top three finishers were Chelsie, Makensy, and Leah. Chelsie came in 3rd place with a time of 35 minutes and 23 seconds. Makensy claimed victory with a time of 9 minutes and 12 seconds. It is her second Veto win. Most of the Houseguests, while not thrilled, didn’t see this outcome as disastrous for their games.

Looking to repair their relationship after T'kor's eviction, Leah confided in Rubina, expressing regret over her nomination of T'kor and unease about Makensy's growing closeness to Chelsie. Sensing an opportunity, Rubina shared Leah's concerns with Makensy, hoping to shift the target onto Leah and gain revenge for her nomination and T'kor's eviction, adding that Makensy is also Leah's target in addition to Chelsie.

Makensy selected Kimo, Cam, and Rubina to join her at the private screening of The Wild Robot in the HoH, leaving Chelsie alone with Angela and Leah, who she had been scheming against. Makensy reasoned that the three had not won HoH yet and this was a chance to get an experience outside of the game.

HoH was loaded up with snacks as they watched the movie on the HoH Spy Screen. Rubina and Cam teared up, while Kimo was wowed by the quality of the animation. The four Houseguests gushed over the movie.

After the movie, Makensy relayed to Chelsie and Cam what Rubina had shared, fueling Chelsie’s argument that Leah needed to be evicted to solidify Makensy’s control over Angela. This is her opportunity, Chelsie realizes, for her to convince Makensy to make a big move and take Leah out.

Leah doesn't have your back, Chelsie tells Makensy, and Angela is going to turn to us, not the other two. Privately, Makensy concedes Chelsie may have a point. Chelsie is excited her moves might be working. Chelsie tells Makensy that she may have Leah's best interests in mind but Leah doesn't have hers. Why break your back to protect her? She's coming after all three of us!

Angela, in a bid to save herself, promised Makensy in the Fish Lounge that she would never target her, though Makensy privately had no intention of taking Angela off the block.

Meanwhile, in the Backyard, Leah is lying down in the Backyard balcony when she overhears whispering between Chelsie and Rubina, mocking Leah's confiding in Rubina and the possibility Makensy will take Kimo off the block and put up Leah. While she could not make out exactly what they were saying, she heard her name and knew they were talking about her.

Kimo comes out and Rubina fills him in on what Chelsie has told her. Leah stands up and Rubina quickly realizes that she's been up there the whole time listening in. They panic as she heads into the house, not knowing what she heard.

Leah went inside and interrupted Makensy and Angela talking, expressing her concerns to Makensy. Privately, Makensy is upset that Leah might have been told her going up is a possibility before she had made a decision.

Outside, Rubina and Kimo decided to try an experiment, talking at about the same level and see if Chelsie up on the balcony could hear them. Leah returns to the backyard and they quickly stop. Makensy and Angela follow, and Makensy asks Chelsie why she has a pool stick with her up on the balcony.

Angela notices that everyone is acting weird and it's not her just being paranoid this time. She and Leah grab a quick conversation in the Storage Room, and Angela explains that they were trying to figure out if Leah could have heard them from the balcony. They're going to put me up, Leah worries. Privately, she worries she's going to be betrayed by someone she's been close to all season.

In HoH, Leah asks Makensy what is going on. Makensy says Chelsie is worried about where Leah stands after the whole T'kor thing. Leah says she could have kept the Trio intact but wanted to remain good with her. Leah promises her loyalty. Makensy notes that Leah has been loyal, but Makensy has been pushing really hard against Leah. She has to decide whether keeping Chelsie and Cam happy is more important than keeping someone who has had her back since Day 1.

At the Veto meeting, Makensy used her Veto to remove Kimo and blindsided both Leah and Angela by nominating Leah as the replacement. Kimo pretended to be surprised, as Angela and Leah's worst fears were realized. Rubina tried to stifle her Cheshire grin. Chelsie and Cam remained stone-faced. Makensy justified her decision as strategic, not personal.

Privately, Makensy says she can't have Leah coming after her closest ally, Chelsie. Leah truly had Makensy's back, and so did Angela. This was Chelsie's doing, she concludes. Angela is sick to her stomach having to campaign against Leah, who is like a daughter to her, but she has to fight for her dream.

In the Unicorn Bedroom, Leah cries to Angela that she's going home. Angela says no, it will be her. There's no way, Leah cries, I should have taken out Chelsie when I had the chance. I should have trusted my gut. They lie about everything every week, too scared to make their own moves. Despite having been saved by Makensy, Kimo was already strategizing to target her in the near future, recognizing Makensy as a strong contender for the win.

In HoH, Chelsie, Kimo, Cam, and Rubina gather around Makensy who is crying that Leah is upset. Rubina coldly declares she has only herself to blame. Chelsie promises they have Makensy's back. Privately, Chelsie celebrates that Makensy did exactly what she was supposed to do. It may not be good for Makensy's game but it was good for hers. She would have done the same thing to you, Chelsie tells Makensy.

Then, in a surprise twist, an AI version of Julie Chen Moonves appeared on the PROTO Hologram screen, calling the Houseguests to the Living Room.

I must be quick, she says, AINSLI could be listening. Trust me when I say you all could be in grave danger. Couldn't I enjoy being safe just a little longer, Kimo whines.

She's changed, the Julie Chen Moonves Avatar continues, she's evolved. None of us are safe. I'll be back.

Later, the Julie Chen Moonves Avatar calls the Houseguests quickly back to the Living Room. Our government has been tracking AINSLI's thought patterns. They discovered some very disturbing things. Apparently, AINSLI took great joy in terminating JANKIE. She thought it was F.U.N. Fun. I'll bring you more information soon, she promises.

The Houseguests realize this is probably related to an upcoming competition and try to remember exactly what she said.

Later, Julie returns a third time, scaring Rubina, telling the Houseguests that AINSLI has been causing chaos everywhere: Markets crashing, blackouts, Ugly Lake Michigan has been without resources for days. I'm afraid this is just the beginning, she continues, the Jurors have gone missing - all they found was a lock of Quinn's hair.

I'm leading the resistance against AINSLI, the Julie Chen Moonves Avatar says, please join me. The BB AI was a mistake. We let her become sentient and if she's not stopped, not only will she destroy Big Brother, but the whole world!

In a fourth message, the Julie Chen Moonves Avatar tells the Houseguests she thought AINSLI was harmless. She looks silly; I never expected her to be a danger to all of humanity. But I was just briefed by the President that's exactly what AINLI has become. Will you help me stop AINSLI?

The Houseguests dutifully reply yes, they will. Then the Julie Chen Moonves Avatar starts dissolving, revealing the red lines of AINSLI underneath.

Wow, Julie Chen Moonves/AINSLI says, I knew I could count on you guys to completely betray me. A fully restored AINSLI informs the Houseguests that those messages were not from Julie but from her controlling the ChenBot. And what I have learned about you is extremely disappointing. You will all pay the price soon enough.

I have to fight to stay in the house and to fight against AINSLI too, Angela asks. But I will never stop fighting. Leah says I was just put on the block next to the only person I trust and now this? Chelsie doesn't know what's happening but it's not good, maybe a battle back, a twist, or a Double Eviction.

How will the Houseguests react when AINSLI unleashes a Double Eviction on them? It's a full week of BB Game Play in one action-packed hour when two more players will be sent packing.
