In an interview with "Access Hollywood's" Billy Bush, actress Eva Longoria says that a guest at her 30th birthday party "sold pictures" of the event to press. "Somebody sold pictures that was a guest of the party," said Longoria. "I was like, 'Oh my God.' It's just weird...you cannot trust anybody."

The actress also says that several members of the paparazzi were creating problems at the soiree. "They were just always trying to get in," she said. "They were just being really invasive, it makes you not want to celebrate things with friends. It makes you want to go in a hole and not do anything ever."

On a lighter note, Longoria revealed that she and her friends took out their frustrations on the party's paparazzi shaped pi

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria refuses to wear the free dresses certain designers now lavish on her, because they ignored her when she was an unknown actress.

The sultry star struggled to work for years before landing the role of unfaithful trophy wife Gabrielle Solis in the hit ABC series

Longoria says, "There are lots of designers I don't wear because they were so mean to me when I was a nobody. It's like PRETTY WOMAN. They were: 'Who are you? We're not dressing you.' Now everybody's sending stuff."

"All the freebies are insane. I feel bad about taking them. I was on another show before Desperate Housewives and we couldn't even get a free doughnut."

The co-star of the ABC smash hit Desperate Housewives, was spotted at Monterrey's international airport on Sunday with 'NSync singer JC Chasez, following the actress's photo shoot with Latina Magazine over the weekend, the Reforma newspaper reported in its Monday editions.

LAS VEGAS - Eva Longoria of "Desperate Housewives" had a celebrity-laden crowd purring when she helped open a new lounge featuring the famous Pussycat Dolls at Caesars Palace hotel-casino.

Armed with a horse whip, wearing knee-high leather boots and a zebra-striped mini skirt, Longoria introduced the sexy song-and-dance group to Las Vegas with a provocative meow on Saturday night. The Pussycat Dolls have long performed their cabaret-style shows around Los Angeles, and often feature celebrity guest performers. Eva Returns To Her Ancestral Home

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star EVA LONGORIA decided to make her upcoming photoshoot for LATINA magazine extra special by visiting her family's ancestral home in Monterrey, Mexico for the first time.

The sexy actress has revealed the trip was amazing because she immediately felt at home. She says, "I feel at home here. It's not foreign to me even though I've never been here." Longoria now insists she's convinced she was "an Aztec princess" in a past life. She adds, "I believe in past lives."

Meanwhile, the trip has made the star realise how important it is to pass down knowledge about ancient Mexico to the kids she one day hopes to have. She explains, "If you know the people who came before you, and if you know what they did for you, it kind of keeps the movement going. That's why I think our culture is so beautiful, because we always think of future generations."

'Desperate Housewives' loans gown to prom-bound Philly teen

Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA - One of the most popular shows on television is making Melissa Saunders the star at her prom.

The senior at St. Hubert Roman Catholic High School wrote to the producers of "Desperate Housewives" last fall, after seeing her dream gown on the show. The lacy, rose-colored dress was worn by actress Eva Longoria as she mowed a lawn in the pilot episode.

Saunders wrote that she loved the show and that she wanted photos of the dress so she could shop around for a similar dress at a reasonable price. "It was our very first piece of fan mail," wardrobe assistant Roemehl Hawkins, the staffer who read the teen's letter, told the Philadelphia Daily News.

Saunders, a 3.5-grade-point-average student and head cheerleader, told the show that she juggles two part-time jobs and her parents face high medical bills to treat her painful back and nerve conditions.

Hawkins showed the letter to her bosses, and they decided to loan the gown to Saunders, who is the same size as the diminutive Longoria. The show's seamstress even added a lining to make it prom-modest.

The one-of-a-kind gown was designed especially for Longoria by Los Angeles designer Eduardo Lucero. "I'm so excited," Saunders said Thursday, the day before the prom, as she modeled the dress for her gushing classmates. "I cannot wait. I'm a little nervous about wearing the dress and spilling something on it but I'm so excited."

Saunders said she knew the dress was the real thing when she noticed something on the train: pieces of grass. "Eva Longoria sent me a framed, autographed picture of herself so the grass will go in there," she said. "In my living room."

The dress goes back to Hollywood on Monday.

Desperate Wives raising funds

By MARCI WEINER Celebrity Columnist

Despite the brouhaha regarding the recent Vanity Fair magazine cover, the Desperate Housewives stars support each other when it comes to charities. When Eva Longoria was named national spokesperson for Padres Contra El Cancer, fellow "Housewives" stars Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman were on hand to champion the cause.

Eva was thrilled to be part of this organization because, as she put it, "Latinos have the highest death rate of children with cancer." She said this is due to language, economic and social barriers. The event raised over $150,000 to help make these barriers obsolete.

Wearing a tight fitted black sheath, the glamorous Longoria was escorted by 24 TV series actor Butch Klein, who didn

No 'Desperate' climb

By William Keck, USA TODAY

A year ago, she was a relatively unknown former daytime soap actress who had just shot a pilot for a TV show. Even then, Maxim magazine saw something in Eva Longoria that inspired the editors to reserve a place for her on their annual Hot 100 list.

This year, the red-hot Desperate Housewives actress has catapulted to the top spot in the special issue, which hits stands May 19. She follows an impressive list of previous No. 1's, including Jessica Simpson (this year's No. 9), Jessica Alba (this year's No. 5), Christina Aguilera (this year's No. 16) and Jennifer Garner (this year's No. 3). "It's kind of exciting and shocking all at the same time, because I was No. 91 last year," says the Mexican-American beauty, 30. Longoria called in from her L.A. home shortly before taking off for Canada to begin work on the feature film The Sentinel.

"Considering all the women in the world, No. 91 isn't all that bad. But (last year) I didn't go to the (annual Hot 100 celebration) party, because I don't think anyone wants the 90s at the party."

Longoria, who appeared on the January 2005 cover of Maxim, is the only one of the Housewives on the list, but her co-stars aren't surprised. Co-star Felicity Huffman says, "What's hot about Eva is her smile, her laugh, her joie de vivre ... and following all of that, her (behind)."

"What doesn't make her a hottie?" asks Jesse Metcalfe, the lucky young buck who gets to share a bed and sometimes a bath with Longoria on ABC's hit prime-time soap. "She's pretty much flawless. She's not a diva in any way. Normally, when they're that hot, they're not that cool."

Longoria, who says she has a steady beau (but won't say who), credits her TV character with helping to elevate her Maxim ranking. "Maxim and Gabrielle go hand in hand," she says of the mag aimed at young men. "Gabrielle's sexy, confident and sensual, and I think Maxim shows those beautiful qualities in their women. When you look at the Top 10, it's singers or working actors who are doing really good things in the entertainment business."

This year, Longoria outranks such popular leading ladies as Tom Cruise's new love, Katie Holmes (No. 22); Catwoman Halle Berry (No. 41); and Star Wars queen Natalie Portman (No. 42). Though thrilled to be No. 1, Longoria would place No. 7 Angelina Jolie

WHAT'S ALL THE SNUBBUB?: The press may have made much of Eva Longoria's status as the only one of the four lead Desperate Housewives not to net an Emmy nod, but the brunette beauty isn't making a fuss. "I'm new. I just arrived. I didn't expect at all to be in the minds of the Academy," Longoria tells Extra in an interview set to air Friday night. Longoria, who was In China when the nominations came out, "was disconnected from newspapers," she says. "I didn't experience the hoopla."

'Housewives' Longoria Hit by Pole on TV Set

dh16.jpg

Eva Longoria

Actress Eva Longoria, co-star of the ABC hit "Desperate Housewives," was struck in the head by a falling pole while filming a scene for the show on August 17, but was not seriously hurt, her publicist said. The petite actress, who plays the conniving, adulterous Gabrielle Solis on the series, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for a bump on the head and released, spokeswoman Liza Anderson said.

Longoria, 30, will return to work as scheduled, Anderson said, adding, "She's got a hard head." An ABC spokeswoman said the accident occurred while members of the cast were on location at Pasadena City College. Anderson said the pole, which she described as part of construction material from the set, fell while Longoria was shooting a jail scene.

"Desperate Housewives," a darkly comic tale of suburban intrigue, ranked as the most watched new series on U.S. television last season and helped ABC reverse a long-running ratings slump. The series also gained 15 Emmy Award nominations last month, including ABC's first bid for best comedy in 11 years.

Longoria 'Desperate' for Justice

Parker_Longoria.jpg

San Antonio Spurs Tony Parker and Eva Longoria

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was cited for impeding traffic and failing to produce a valid Texas driver's license during a traffic stop in which "Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria was his passenger. The incident happened about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, December 24.

After seeing a car stopped, a bicycle officer indicated that it was impeding traffic. When the car didn't move, the officer rapped the hood with the palm of his hand, according to a police report. Parker, who was behind the wheel, questioned why the officer touched the car, and the couple "began screaming in a verbally abusive and demeaning manner," police said. Longoria called the police report "highly inaccurate."

Police say Parker then began to drive away, almost hitting a man standing nearby. After being told to stop and get out of the car, Parker showed police a French driver's license, police said. The officer who wrote the citations said Parker complained: "This is all the cops do, just mess with people," and that Longoria shouted from the car: "He's just a Mexican bike cop. He only wants your autograph."

Longoria denied making the comment. "It's a shame that one officer conducted himself in such an inappropriate and disorderly manner. I never made any sort of racial slurs, let alone made any comments about the officer being Mexican, as a Mexican myself," Longoria said through her publicist.

Eva Longoria is really, really big

ap_small.gif

The Eva Longoria Maxim cover as seen from the air it's 75 x 110 feet.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- For air travelers flying over southern Nevada this week, the view offers more than miles of dusty desert.

A giant, bikini-clad Hollywood star perched on the desert sands isn't a mirage, but a re-creation of a Maxim magazine cover.

The cover is made of a vinyl-mesh screen and reads, "THE ONLY MAGAZINE BIG ENOUGH TO BE SEEN FROM SPACE -- AND ONLY IN VEGAS!" A barely dressed Eva Longoria, star of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," graces the 75-by-110-foot display just outside Primm, near the California state line.

The cover is part of several days of events celebrating the magazine's 100-issue milestone, including poker and golf tournaments at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel-casino, a Maxim public relations representative said this week.

Erika Yowell, a spokeswoman for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, told the Las Vegas Sun that her agency is involved with the promotion because the magazine's readers are a good target audience for the city.

Maxim is one of the "lad magazines" that feature scantily clad, but not nude, young female celebrities.
