Oddly enough, the ultimate dating show, "The Bachelor" and its spin-off "The Bachelorette," have a spotty track record for lovebirds. In the eleven seasons combined, only three couples remain together: "Bachelorette" Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, who tied the knot on national TV; Bachelor No. 6 Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado; and Bachelor No. 7 Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice.

They seem to be very a low profile couple, or former couple. When watching that season of the Bachelor I think he made his decision to choose Mary long before the game was over, and struggled with himself because he was contracted to play it out and pretend he had not made a decision.

'Bachelor' star to stay a bachelor

August 16, 2007

The marriage that seemed so inviting when the reality-TV cameras rolled is losing its appeal for Andy Baldwin and the woman he proposed to on ABC's "The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman."

The two have called off their engagement, and social worker Tessa Horst postponed plans to move from San Francisco to Hawaii, where the Navy doctor is stationed. But Baldwin told In Touch Weekly that the relationship goes on.

"When the fantasy wore off and the reality set in, we both realized that we weren't ready to be engaged," he said. "We're taking things much slower."
