CBS is accepting applications for 'Survivor 12'

CBS has begun accepting applications for Survivor 12. Mail-in application forms are being accepted now through June 17, 2005 and must be accompanied by a three-minute videotape. To obtain a copy of the application click here

As with previous editions of the program, once all the tapes have been reviewed, the producers will fly to cities across the country to conduct in-person interviews with the selected semi-finalists. According to information released by CBS, approximately 800 semi-finalists will be interviewed in 12 American cities.

The regional interviews will then be used to determine the approximately 48 finalists who will fly to Los Angeles in September 2005 for additional interviews and extensive physical, psychological and background checks. A final cutdown will form the group of contestants who will participate in the twelfth installment of Survivor, which will be filmed in late 2005 and broadcast in Spring 2006.

D'oh!! I'm in Australia so I can't audtion, I'm so jealous! We had Survivor Australia for one season but it sucked and got bad ratings (though a girl who made the final 3 threatening to kill the other two was kind of amusing! Especially when they had the reunion and she was like "Yes it's always fun to have a nervous breakdown on tv" which made everyone laugh. Aside from that it was so dull.

Yep Ranster their all there... I don't post over there much, but I read there a lot to get information... Some of what I get comes from them and some from real sources... I don't share much of what I am told by real sources because of the torment I went through last year with being given the wrong info to try and get me to post it there and get me banned... I went to a mod there first thankfully...

For those of you that are looking for spoilers for S12 here are some that were posted over at suck's by ChillOne who has spoiled before and has always done well with it... They posted this December 11th well before the announcement from Jeff on the finale...

SPOILER

Happy Holidays everyone! Well, ever since Wezzie and Dan broke the news on Survivor's return to Panama, I've been receiving information from the many friends I made while touring the Pearl Islands after the filming of ASS. As of now, I really only have descriptions of contestants; not names (well, except for one). So, I'll leave it up to my spoiling colleagues out here to try to unravel those mysteries before the January premier. But, I also have some game details. So, we can all piece together the puzzle throughout the S12 season. Anyway, here is what I know (so far):

PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE TO READ THIS THREAD IF YOU THINK POTENTIAL SPOILERS WILL NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOUR SURVIVOR VIEWING EXPERIENCE! OK, now that I got that off my shoulders...

.

.

.

.

.

.

To begin, infomation points to a 3-tribe scenario at the beginning of the game. For many, that comes as good news.

Additionally, the production will include the somewhat frequent use of a "penalty island". How it is used in the context of the game, I'm not sure. But, contestants are punished/banished to this island and isolated for a night due to some event in the game. Most likely, it's related to the challenges.

OK, now to the peeps. I know the descriptions of seven contestants; those that probably are in the Final 9 of S12 (based on intel). They are -- with game details associated with each:

1) Military guy ... with Air Force roots and possibly even an astronaut. His name is Barry (or Jerry). Might be the leader and most in control. The intel is that this guy is really kicking ass in the challenges. He wins the family reward challenge. Possible Final 4 candidate.

2) Black Girl ... a nurse. Awarded a family visit from Military guy (see's her husband). Possibly Final 4 candidate.

3) A very small man ... Awarded a family visit from Military guy (see's his son). Possibly Final 4 candidate.

4) Blonde girl ... does not get along with Air Force guy. When all are spending time with their families, she is sent to "penalty island". Does not get to see her mom. Possible Final 4 candidate.

5) Another blonde girl (noticible highlights in her hair). Voted off right before the family reward episode. Possible jury member. 7th place?

6) Asian guy ... sent to "penalty island" early in the game. Comes back to help his team win the next challenge. Possible jury member. 6th, 8th or 9th place?

7) Caucasian Girl w/ blonde rasta-style hair ... Possible jury member. 6th, 8th, or 9th place?

Well, that's it for now. I know there are 2 people missing from the Final 9 equation. But, as of now, we should have enough to chew on to make for fun conversation and debate (especially when mixed with other S12 spoilers). As I hear more, I will post. And, when the contestants are officially revealed, it should make for even more fun matching them up with this intel.

Best wishes to everyone this holiday season.

Here's a screen shot taken at the end of the S11 when the previews were on for S12... There are three boats here... Blurry but still three boats...

Jeff Probst on KCBS News

"The next Survivor has a great twist. We have an island called Exile Island, and the idea was: every week we're going to send one survivor on their own to exile. So, not only will you have to be on this island having to deal with the rain, and the bugs, and no food, you're away from camp, which is where the game is played. And the flipside is...is that somewhere hidden out there is hidden immunity idol. So while you're out there trying to endure the conditions, you're digging around trying to find this thing. And it turned out to be a great twist."

"This next season is really likeable group [in contrast to Guatemala's feistier group] and the whole notion of Exile Island puts some people in peril. It's a tough...it's tough when you get sent to this island, it's hard."

ChillOne added to his information... Here it is...

SPOILER

New/updated intel (includes one of the Final 9 survivors I was missing):

1) Military guy ... with Air Force roots and possibly even an astronaut. His name is Barry (or Jerry). Might be the leader and most in control. The intel is that this guy is really kicking ass in the challenges (wins something like seven immunity challenges in a row). He wins the family reward challenge. Probable Final 4 candidate. Final 2 based on his immunity challenge dominance?

2) Black Girl ... a nurse. Awarded a family visit from Military guy (see's her husband). Possible Final 4 candidate. See F4 vote dynamics intel below.

3) A very small man ... Awarded a family visit from Military guy (see's his son). Possible Final 4 candidate. Possible jury member. 6th, 8th or 9th place?

4) Blonde girl ... does not get along with Air Force guy. When all are spending time with their families, she is sent to "penalty island". Does not get to see her mom. Possible Final 4 candidate. Name: Danielle? Also See F4 vote dynamics intel below.

8) A tall, skinny guy ... Possible Final 4 candidate. (Note: Obviously, this guy may not have been skinny at the start of the game)

I'm told that at the Final 4 Tribal Council, there is a voting stalemate; 2-2. To settle this, the 2 square off (Black girl vs. Blonde girl?) in that TC fire building challenge we've seen before -- first to have their fire burn through the string, wins. Loser walks.

Of course, we now know it's called "Exile Island," not "Penalty Island." That is all.

Is it my imagination or are the immunity necklaces getting uglier and uglier. Is that a shrunkin head? Gross!!

Just curious...

Is #3 a real little person, like Wee-Man or Chara? Have they ever had a 'little person' (is that politically correct?) on Survivor? Interesting....

Thanks, Yana. Your spoilers for Survivor 11 were great! They were a big help with the Fantasy League. (Is that considered cheating? ;) Oh well, it's just to beat my friends in the tribe!)

I was watching the Palau reunion yesterday, and Janu was talking about her night on the island alone when they sent her away after being first out of the challenge. She was talking about her self relization while being alone, and reffered to it as "Exile Island". I found it interesting. Seems like they are doing a whole season of that, and Janu named it, and didnt even know it!! haha

TDT posted this over at sucks...

I'm pretty sure Tina Scheer is indeed a contestant on Survivor: Panama.

Tina was all set to be on S11, but the untimely death of her 16 year old son right before filming started put a break on her being on the show... She was replaced by Amy...

ETA: the website information

I found a website with some information on Tina...

TINA -- WISCONSIN / MAINE

Tina has been Log Rolling for 30 years, starting out as a young girl in Wisconsin and it has literally taken her around the World. Through her involvement in Rolling, she became interested in Chopping and Sawing and is the only woman that competes in Chopping, Sawing and Log Rolling! She is responsible for introducing Women's Chopping & Sawing at The World Championships in Wisconsin. Tina has been to Australia 10 X with her exhibitions and competitions and she along with Dany were the first Women to chop and single saw at the Royal Sydney Show in Australia in April of 2001. She was the only female member of a team of axemen to travel and compete in South Africa. Timber Tina has been the voice of the Stihl Timbersports Series for 10 years. She owns The Great Maine Lumberjack Show and is the owner/operator of the Lumberjills.
