'Celebrity Fit Club' Begins Third Season

cfc_scale.jpg

'Celebrity Fit Club'

Celebrity Fit Club is back for its third season as a one-hour reality show in which eight overweight celebrities compete in two teams of four to lose weight. In each episode the celebrities attend "Fit Camp" where they take part in a range of physical and motivational activities designed to shed the pounds, increase team spirit and rivalry, and win prizes.

In each episode, we'll see them at home or work struggling to maintain their regime. And in each episode, we'll see them at the "Weigh In Ceremony" where they'll be individually weighed and judged by the panel: a doctor, Dr. Ian Smith; a psychologist, Dr. Linda Papadopoulos and their fitness trainer, Harvey Walden.

The celebrities are also weighed together in teams on a huge counterweight scale each week. To be fair to both teams, the scale is calibrated and a weight loss percentage is then calculated to find the winning team of that weight loss period. In the final show, each member of the team that has lost the most weight across the series wins a grand prize.

This show is about more than diet and exercise. It deals with difficult emotional issues around body image and the fear of failure. The show is constructed to show celebrities as they are rarely seen. By signing up to "Celebrity Fit Club," they're making a brave statement to the world that they have a problem and they need help to overcome it.

The celebrities will be challenged to succeed with a combination of empathy and tough love from our panelists. They'll be aiming to shed pounds, but they'll also have to shed their inhibitions. The show will involve:

  • Celebrities being weighed publicly. They'll hate it, but admitting your problem is the first step to defeating it.

  • Celebrities getting the hard facts of their medical condition.

  • Celebrities in therapy and under hypnosis revealing the deep-rooted emotional reasons for being overweight.

  • Celebrities subjected to many outrageous varieties of therapies from tried and true yoga, to the latest exercise fads such as Krav Maga.

  • Celebrities with their partners and families, facing up to the reality of their condition. Husbands, wives, partners and children all have their part to play in supporting - and sometimes undermining - the celebrities' efforts.

  • Celebrities bonding. It's astonishing how the desire to beat the other team can forge friendships and camaraderie. Most of the challenges faced by the cast are funny as well as tough.

  • And celebrities at war with each other.
There will be eight shows in the series, filmed over a period of 16 weeks.

He's back for another round! Hyper, irreverent, and ". . . so gay, I can put a lisp in the word 'cracker,'" the man simply named ANT first decided he wanted to become a comedian when he saw Whoopi Goldberg's one-woman show on HBO.

Appearances on the WB's "Jamie Foxx Show" and "For Your Love," E!'s "Talk Soup" and a monthly co-hosting gig on the syndicated "Ricki Lake Show" kick-started the comedian's career and lead to ANT being the only comedian to appear on each of the first three seasons of NBC's smash hit "Last Comic Standing."

ooo yall are wrong for hating on someone that doesn't look the same way they did 20 years ago. But some of the people on the cast have always been fat like Countess Vaughn and Bruce. Those people shouldn't be on the show. I think only people who were small then got fat like Kirstie Alley should be on this show so we can see them back the way the used to be.

Yall don't remember Young MC? Just bust a move?

That sucks that Ant is still the host. They really need a new host, but since his manager is Somebody special, he will always be there. Remember how they cheated on Last Comic Standing? He ended up in the house telling them same corny gay jokes ("I'm not gay but my boyfriend is"). People were confused as to how this happened until they realized who his manager was. I think his manager was the producer of the show or something?

Courtesy of: VH1, CELEBRITY FIT CLUB 3

Introduction

Wednesday Jan. 4

10/9c PM

The eight celebrities arrive at their first weigh-in ceremony, where they meet the host, ANT and the panel of experts: Dr. Ian Smith, Psychologist Dr. Linda Papadapoulos, and Drill Sergeant Harvey Walden, IV.

Each celebrity undergoes a series of tests to determine their overall health and fitness level and then gets dunked in a special tank of water that measures their body fat percentage. Then, one by one, each celebrity makes their first trip down the catwalk to get a harsh dose of reality - their weight. The panel of experts lay down the law on how much weight they are expected to lose, leaving several celebrities in shock with weight loss goals of up to 40 pounds in 100 days.

But this isn't just about how and what you eat, the celebrities also get their first taste of fit camp - otherwise known as Harvey's house. Harvey puts them through the paces, measuring and assessing their physical fitness or lack thereof.

From crunches and push-ups to a 100-meter sprint with hurdles to a long jump, the events give the celebrities a rude awakening regarding their athletic prowess. Bizarre can't catch his breath during the push ups, and Bruce finds that he is unable to compete in many of the days activities. Fit Camp ends with a half-mile run where all of the celebrities find themselves needing to walk for part of the race. At the end of the day a challenge is issued: The team who improves the most in the same events at the end of the season will receive a 10-pound credit toward their combined weight on the Giant Scale.

The panel creates two teams: Jeff, Tempestt, Bizarre and Kelly versus Chastity, Young MC, Countess and Bruce. The panel appoints Chastity and Jeff as team Captains, despite Harvey's reservations about having Jeff leading one of the teams.

The battle for the grand prize begins as Jeff and Chastity are determined to lead their teams to victory as they will go head to head at future Fit Camp competitions and also put their fat-burning skills to the test - because the team which loses the most combined weight over the course of 100 days will take home the grand prize.

The winners from Episode 1 won JVC brand televisions ... Check out their official website at www.jvc.com/ to learn more!

The Meltdown

Sunday

11/10c AM...9/8c PM

The most dramatic episode - with the biggest meltdown. Celebrity Fit Club history starts as the Celebrities arrive at their second Fit Camp only to discover Bizarre A.W.O.L and Jeff Conaway in a drug induced haze. Although Jeff says that he simply took two Benedryl, his slurred speech and inability to walk in a straight-line forces Dr. Ian to step in and evaluate Jeff to see if he is capable of participating in the events of the day. Already down one member with Bizarre missing, Kelly LeBrock and Tempestt Bledsoe are forced to deicide if Jeff should participate in the Fit Camp Challenge or if they should use only two members to compete against Chastity's' team in a Hawaiian style outrigger race.

Things go from bad to worse at the Weigh In Ceremony when Jeff has a violent meltdown before things even begin. Jeff throws his shoes across the room and explodes at Harvey after he asks Jeff to sit down so the show can begin. After things settle down, team names are announced. Chastity Bono introduces her team name as "Ebony Flame" and Jeff's announces that his team is named "Greased Lightning."

As the Celebrities weigh in with the panel to see how much weight they lost, faces light up as almost all of them either achieve or exceed their weight loss goals. But when Jeff steps on the scale, his temper flares up again as he argues with Kelly about Fit Camp and uses a litany of excuses to explain his lack of weight loss and erratic behavior. Finally, Chastity steps up and says what everyone is thinking: that Jeff is on drugs. And Harvey and the rest of the panel extend an offer of help.

At the Giant Scale, things don't look good for Greased Lightning, as Ebony Flame takes an early and sizable lead.

**NEW GUY**

Sunday Jan. 15

9/8c PM

At this week's Fit Club, things take a tragic turn when an out of control night of drinking and pills sends Jeff Conaway to the emergency room. The panel arranges an intervention with Dr. Drew Pinsky who has an eye-opening conversation with Jeff where he admits to being severely depressed and over-using several powerful prescription medications. Jeff then decides to check himself into a drug rehab center.

Meanwhile, this week's Fit Camp proves to be the most demanding challenge in Fit Club history, and three celebrities drop out even before the event begins. Dr. Ian decides that the challenge may be too demanding for Bruce, who is away taking a heart stress test. Countess has an anxiety attack and a work out warm up with Harvey gives Biz an asthma attack - leaving only four celebrities to face a muddy obstacle course sponsored by the United States Marine Corps called The Volkslauf.

The remaining celebrities hit the obstacle course and the obstacle course hits back - Chastity Bono struggles and almost quits for several minutes in an effort to climb over a giant cargo net, and then encounters even more resistance - falling off of a rope bridge into a mud filled trench.

The Weigh In Ceremony proves successful for some celebrities like Young MC who loses another eight pounds, and disappointing for others as Countess Vaughn actually gains weight over the past two weeks. However, Countess starts sharing her personal problems about her marriage with the panel, to explain her lack of focus on herself.

With Jeff Conaway gone indefinitely, Kelly LeBrock is appointed the new team captain in Jeff's absence, and a new celebrity steps in to take Jeff's place, weighing in with the panel for the first time.

After everyone has met with the panel and received their individual weight loss targets, ANT leads the celebrities outside to the Giant Scale to see which team is ahead in the battle to lose weight.

what's up with people gaining weight? How long have they been there and Moesha's friend has GAINED weight? Talking about she's going through stuff at home. Walk it off hun.

And why is Gunner there? Shouldn't you have to be kinda fat like Chastity to be on there?

And Vanessa is always complaining about the tasks, but then she turns around and tries to flirt with the guy (the military dude). She's trying her best to flirt, but he is not feeling her. And what's up with her always talking about "Looks are very important with the line of work I'm in", "What I do for a living is based on looks". I wanna go B!tch, what DO you DO? You haven't done anything worth recognizing since the Cosby show and you were wack back then with your lopsided afro. But if I talked to the TV, she probably would not hear me.

The fat joke writer with the glasses cracks me up with his one liners.

Young MC is cute.

I think next week they will be voting a person off their team to trade to the other team. I'm assuming that it will be Moesha's friend and either Gunner (since he doesn't have much weight to lose), or Vanessa Huxtable (since she's not that motivated).

Dang-- when is this show on anyway? I'll be checking VH1's site next!! I ususally don't even have to pay attention to when things are on, because it seems like they show them so many times, I usually run across it at some point!

I like this show -- even though it's celebrities, it seems more realistic, than the biggest loser. They are more on their own, with guidance, rather than living in an isolated, controlled situation. And, they lose more realistic numbers too -- and gain also. Wow -- just like real people!!! I guess when you aren't an 'A' list celeb, you revert back to some of your more human characteristics!

What do you all think of Ant. ( Ant?? that's his name huh --- and I'm sure he picked it out himself -- whatever dude!) I'm not quite sure what he adds to the show. I guess his name is fitting, since he is an annoying little thing. What is he? A comedian or something??? It's tough for me to tell. I thought his comment to Biz, about not being able to stay off the wieners was, while not shocking coming from Ant, but still pretty gross. He says something like that, and an image pops into your head, whether you want it to or not --- and there are some images I do NOT need to see!:o:(

Ant is some cornball up and coming comedian. No one really likes him, he's not funny, he doesn't really have fans, but he knows the right people and that's how he got this gig. I think they should let the fat joke writer with the glasses take over as host after this season.

TK809 - Young MC did Bust a Move but Tone Loc sang Wild Thang and Funky Cold Medina. I feel silly just typing this.
