Willie Hantz, Week 2 (Out - July 20)

Willie was insulting everyone and Joe simply put it back on Willie. Joe had his fists up because Willie came at him in a hurry and had just said earlier that he was essentially going to evict himself. Willie was the only one to make physical contact. It's all on Willie and the fact he couldn't control himself.

Your right about a lot of stuff here but the one thing that sticks out to me the most is you saying Willie made contact first, when Willie headbutted Joe it was in response to Joe backing him up and bumping him in the chest (only it was Joes stomach because of his pudge).Whic IMO gives Willie the right to defend himself. People can use words all day long. But as soon as you put your hands/body on someone its a whole nother story..(I watched the interaction between them that they played on the show several times And the first time it shows the contact is when Joe did it. Also, they were both to fault here. They BOTH instigated the situation. As feeds show right before they went down Joe was jumping like a 5yr old in HOH excited to "go make him blow"..They both crossed the line no matter which one started what first so the should both have been expelled. Thats just the bottom line...

What they showed of the blow up of Hantz let us know he was deliberately wanting out of the game. He knew that being aggressive with a big guy like Joe was a two edged sword in his favor. He looked like he was brave to be going after someone bigger and he could count on Joe to behave pretty much like he did. Joe put his hands up in a defensive stance, but did not act aggressively, but also did not back down. Hantz counted on Joe wanting to maintain his alpha male position enough not to back down. He got what he intended to get. Then Hantz got into his space and chest butted him, but being as short as he was his forehead hit Joe somewhere around the nose. I do not think Hantz intended to make that contact only the chest push. Joe complained loudly about the contact with his face. Well I suppose it was both shocking to have that contact, and being on TV I guess makes people worry about how they look too. There was a complaint that he threw the pork skins at Janelle, but that was really an aside of disgust at her for picking on him and his team for slop (though he was not really much of a team player, he was annoyed that what he did spilled over to his team, probably not only because he saw it as unfair, but also because he wanted all the credit for his acts to be his. He did say he was not a team player. Throwing the pork rinds was hardly violent; Hantz was not out of his mind, he was calculated enough not to want to let himself be seen as being violent to a woman. He would not be able to live that one down in the South. He saw he was going to be voted out and he wanted a bigger finish on his own terms, He got what he wanted on all levels.

Agree. What Willie done was calculated. He wanted out of the game and he got out. Why he didn't just walk out the door is beyond me. Maybe they don't get paid if they DOR but they still do if they're evicted.

Willie made some remark toward Joe first when Joe walked by him. (Willie had been calling them c***ts before the feeds were cut). Joe simply responded and Willie RAN to the bathroom to start a fight so that he would be evicted. Joe put his fists up in defense, as most people would, and Willie was screaming "hit me, hit me, hit me!" Then Willie head/chest butted Joe. He wasn't in an uncontrollable rage. He did it to be evicted as he was IMMEDIATELY docile and obedient when called out by BB. He got what he wanted.

I do feel bad for Willie because of how Brit and Jojo treated him. When Willie was in the penthouse, Joho was all up his butt, singing his praises even when he was being a jerk and more than happy to be a jerk with him. Then when his power was gone, so was she, while whining that it wasn't fair that she should have to pay for Willie's mistakes. She's a lot of big talk and no action. I wish Willie had wanted to stay in the game, not because I like him so much but because he provided about the only entertainment value in the house.

  1. Honestly, I think Willie went too hard too fast, and yes there was a reason that everyone started hating on him. Saying that, I do think Willie should have took a step back and tried to mend relationships like Will did in Season 2.

Also saying that, I do think Willie was bullied and that is the reason he blew up. I mean even his own coach, Britney, isolated him and told everyone not to talk to him. Respect to Britney as a person, but as a coach, not a very nice person. She instigated everyone to hate him as she seems to alot. I give Britney props that she knows how to rally people to hate the other person she does not like. She did that in season 12 with Rachel, she is doing that now with Mike this season, and she did it to her own teammate, Willie. She is very much of an instigator. I wish people could see how Britney is and not be lulled by her cuteness and humor but see her as a person who has alot of negative hate in her.

Willie had his tantrum because everyone bullied against him and didn't give him a chance to make up with him. Though I don't agree with his physical violence, he was pushed to do that because everyone turned their back on him.

I have to learn from how he was treated and be a little more sympathetic to people.

Anyway, thanks

R

I still feel for Willie. I've never seen an entire house turn on someone that viciously before. After the HOH comp, Britney started treating him like the absolute scum of the earth and rubbing salt in the wound at every opportunity. She is supposed to be his coach. And he was pretty patient with her. She then encouraged the only friends he had in the house to turn against him. What did this guy do to deserve all that cruelty? Yell at the guy he was trying to save for spreading lies about him to the house?

If Ashley had stuck with them and Frank was voted out, Britney would be singing his praises but because things didn't go her team's way she portrays herself the victim of this horrible monster who has never said a bad word to or about her.

I feel badly for Willie... the ENTIRE house shunned him, his coach didn't have his back or try to resolve anything except for the few times that she said "Willie you really need to calm down"... His 'Team' was all for him when he had the power BUT as soon as the tables turned they all turned into Benedict Arnolds... He got a raw deal. I went over & over the 'fight scene' - Joe- whom in my opinion is a much bigger bully- should have been tossed too. He is an asshat, a bully, a pot stirrer... just a creep.

I think that production (and ALL of the coaches since that is part of a coach's general responsibility) could have and should have defused the situation considering that (in line with some of your thoughts) they brought Willie on board because of who he was and the overall Hantz reputation for controversy. I think the situation was blown out of proportion and I think that Willie's continued presence would have made BB14 more interesting or frankly, interesting. It is barely interesting to me at this point.

It is patently clear to me that online interest in BB has declined. I don't attribute the decline to Willie's situation specifically but BB surely doesn't need any missteps. In my opinion, they need to move away from bringing former HG's back so much. I do not find Janelle, Dan, Mike Boogie or Britney all that interesting in the first place.

I think the remaining HGs really screwed the online feed followers by acting like Willie was King Kong or something. There is one thing worse than a bad loser, and that really obnoxious winners who love rubbing salt into the wound. Can't wait for these creeps turn on one another.

How funny is it that it turns out you wre right...She didnt even really WIN that coaches comp, yet the first SECOND she had the chance to rub it in WIllies face she did...Way to be a 30 something mother there Janelle...(and btw you dont have to use your fists to be just as much a bully and at fault for physical confrintations)

yep totally agree! Next prediction, she is going to breakdown infront of cameras! She needs something to save her popularity right now! Watch! Im waiting for the crocodile tears to flow! She is a dang good player and she knows how to play the public too! That is why people love her! She knows how to work the crowd and she is a dang good player! I call her the queen of mean! But thats Jani! I told you she was being cocky! Lol! But i blame Brit the coach mostly for Willie demise on bb! When the going got tough she ran, hid and before it was over turn on him like a snake and killed him with Joes help! Even mike boogie said it was brits fault! Mike Boogie! But brit is walking around like she is the victim! Geesh! Smh!

You must not be watching the same show I am. While what you say is true with respect to the incident at the end, it is not what was happening in the days/hours leading up to the incident. If anything, Joe and Brit were the ones throwing out the most insults imo.

I know I can't either! I think some of them (Janelle for me) think they have a solid fan base, however who I like goes by their behavior in the house and how they play the game etc. So I am no longer will I ever been Team Jani...Willie had some fault in this whole situation too. But I wonder how a 30+ something mother can behave the way she does...

lol! Game wise she is going a great job! I name her the queen of mean! Becuz she has always hit below the belt! I feel for her becuz she only has bb! That is her accomplishment! Im not putting her down! Im just stating the facts! We thought she was going to do something big after bb6 and 7! But her acting skills sucks as u can see in her DRs lol! This is probably her last horah! I hope she does well and this time win! But her biggest flaw is she plays with emotions... anger! I really do hope she goes far, but on her own not with bb help!

Ok, my 2 cents with a penny change:

There are lots of "at faults" in this situation:

First faults go to production;

They deliberately went out and recruited "a Hantz' for ratings.

They give psychological tests to these players and this one was textbook.

They put in this stupid coach twist just to bring back some of their "has been" HG's, which everyone

figured out pretty quickly was clearly production controlling the game as much as they could.

Expect the Unexpected should be changed to Expect to be Blindsided by Production

Production should have tried to diffuse some of this in the Diary Room instead of allowing it to escalate

the way it did. They have psychologists on staff, and they should have seen this coming.

The fans and other HG's knew Willie was going to explode.

Next set of faults to Brittany:

She is the worst excuse for a coach and a poor excuse for a BB player. She pretended to support Willie but then she not only turned on him but took the whole house with her.

brittany constantly berated Willie, kept after him telling him what a loser he was, everyone hates him, he's responsible for her looking bad (seriously, nobody needs to take that).

Next to the house:

Ok, Willie was a pain and obviously a hothead so why push his buttons. Brittany saw her 100K slipping away (like she was going to win in the first place - big joke) so she jumped ship, Janelle mocking him "obviously I'm choosing Willie for slop", tJoJo "I'm sorry but I just can't associate with you" and Joe not keeping his big mouth shut.

Willie:

He has a temper and he does not know how to diffuse it, did not even try by going into DR, asking to talk to a shrink.

Unfortunately, he also comes from a "good ol' boy" background where things are pretty much solved with fists, so that's what he understands.

Also (I think, so just my opinion) he feels women should be "love, honor and OBEY" and they are not supposed to talk back to you or talk down to you.

He came into the game with a chip on his shoulder, did not come to play with a coach (especially such a stupid and vindictive one), did not come to be coached, managed or controlled and it backfired because that's not what production had in mind for this season.

He's a Hantz and this is just what Hantz' do.

I think you've summed it up fairly well. I would agree with about 95% of what you've said and the 5% would be about his background (we just don't know so I won't even go there - being from the south I hate when assumptions are made about "southern society" because those assumptions are often negative and totally untrue).

New reality show - The Hantz's unleashed

Isn't Frank's father a wrestler? Combine the two families for a new wrestling show. Tall, lean, bushy headed good guys v short, squat, bald headed bad guys.

Gotta say the fight description was blown up a bit ... I read on Morty's main page about Mike saying he headbutted Joe 4 times? ... Anyway ...

Willie couldn't control his temper but a lot of things led up to that point and there is only so much a man can take ... I just hope someone else can step up and save this season now because we likely just lost the most entertaining person in the house less than 2 weeks into the season.

Actually if Joe wanted to be unconfrontational, he would have put his open palms up and said something like "hey man I dont' want to fight" but the fists imo were an aggressive stance. Willie may have wanted to get evicted by taking a punch but if he was truly pathological, he would have tackled or punched Joe. He did not do that. Meh, so he headbutted him with the brim of his hat and that was enough for him to be escorted out. I still think Joe should have been escorted out also.
