I truly think he likes men. He did seem to enjoy being on top of the other guys during the luxury competition. And then he kept turning around and giving a big 1000-watt smile to Hayden(?). Did Rachel give a jealous look? I think his goal is to have a threesome with Hayden and Kristen before Kristen leaves the house, or maybe just ... Hayden? I'm not sure. He's as poor as any college student. I'm pretty sure he said he was teaching and then was laid-off this year and that was why he took the swim coach job. He would have gotten his BA at least 6 years ago. He also said he was going to go for his masters. I may be wrong but that's what I remeber him telling Rachel.
