What Are Your Favorite "movie Scenes"

Recommended Posts

ohhh, good thread.....

Child's play when after the mom realizes there were no batteries in Chucky and he rolled out of her arms and hid....and later when he's crawling down the hall minus a leg and arm and all charred up....(speaking of Chucky where's Ginger?)

Pet cemetery when the little kid is under the bed and slices the old mans heel, then his face.....

Evil Dead when Ash is trying to cut off his own hand.....

my absolute favorite moment in movie history is in Jaws when they're in the hull of the ship swapping tales and showing scars, then the story of the USS Indianapolis, and ends with the a rousing round of "show me the way to go home...." THIS IS THE BEST 10 MINUTES IN FILM HISTORY

lidarln - I agree on Jaws. It was incredible.

I couldn't find my favorite in a clip, but it's in Sling Blade when Karl and Frank are sitting out in the woods and Karl gives him books and tells him "I love ya boy"

Thanks Reap! You're a sweetheart. Those are exactly what I meant. Don't suppose you can find the SlingBlade scene I talked about? I tried and couldn't.

And now, the reason I'm called MrsFroman -

There are so many that come to mind but here are a few of my favorites:

Absolute classics:

Andy broadcasts Mozart- The Shawshank Redemption

A Master at slapstick:

I blubber like an idiot every time I watch this scene:

...and this has to be the most gut-wrenching and superbly acted scene ever:

The Choice- Sophie's Choice

Some of the best movie scenes

the 1st victim in Jaws....when she first gets pulled under.

the 1st time the shark jumps out of the water and you actually see it.

the head that pops through the hole in the boat when the guy finds the shark tooth.

the scene just after the original star wars storyline rolls and the camera pans down to the star destroyer ship closing in on princess leahas ship....i was like...WOW!

mrsfroman...........TOTALLY AGREE about the last dance of Dirty Dancing! i can watch that a million times!

another fav of mine is the final courtroom scene in A Few Good Men:

You want answers?

KAFFEE

I think I'm entitled to them.

JESSEP

You want answers?!

KAFFEE

I want the truth.

JESSEP

You can't handle the truth!

And nobody moves.

JESSEP

Son, we live in a world that has walls.

And those walls have to be guarded by men

with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You,

Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater

responsibility than you can possibly

fathom. You weep for Santiago and you

curse the marines. You have that luxury.

You have the luxury of not knowing what I

know: That Santiago's death, while tragic,

probably saved lives. And my existence,

while grotesque and incomprehensible to

you, saves lives.

You don't want the truth. Because deep

down, in places you don't talk about at

parties, you want me on that wall. You me

there

We use words like honor, code,

loyalty...we use these words as the

backbone to a life spent defending

something. You use 'em as a punchline.

I have neither the time nor the

inclination to explain myself to a man who

rises and sleeps under the blanket of the

very freedom I provide, then questions the

manner in which I provide it. I'd prefer

you just said thank you and went on your

way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a

weapon and stand a post. Either way, I

don't give a damn what you think you're

entitled to.

KAFFEE

Did you order the code red?

JESSEP

I did the job you sent me to do.

KAFFEE

Did you order the code red?

JESSEP

You're goddamn right I did.

Off the top of my head and there are many more but the spaghetti western's are some of my favorites.

The end scene in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Lee Van Cleef hands Clint Eastwood a shovel (while he is watching Eli Wallach dig). The gun duel....that music is haunting.
