All BB does is guide this group of simpletons to make the show halfway interesting. I think if they were left on their own to make independent decisions they would all just sit there waiting for the dinner bell to ring. They need all the help they can get IMO.

If they have nothing to hide, why don't they show the DR on the live feeds??????

If they did that, we wouldn't have this thread. Now where would the fun be in that????

just sayin........ :animated_rotfl:

PS...so true BBinMiami and you gave me a good chuckle!

Well they do a lot of "therapy" in there. I think they really need a little private time

Seriously.

I would perfer if they made it a policy to not ever try to effect the outcome of the game. Makes is not a real "game".

Got to :animated_scratchchin: which actually gave me a headache :sick2:

I think DR worked a little manipulation last week in James behalf because he could of set a POV record of 4 in a row and made for good BB promo. Now with that gone, don't think they give a rats dupa if he stays or goes. Infact don't think they give a ... for whoever stays or goes at this point now.

How else could the producers manipulate the tv audience and the hg themselves if they were to show the whole DR sessions?

True, although BB UK does show BB talking to the HGs in DR. I remember when I was in London watching their BB and heard the DR conversation, I was pretty shocked. Of course they probably cut out anything that could have been really leading, but I liked the transparency of it. Heck, it took me a couple seasons of BB in the US to realize that someone actually talked to the HGs in the DR... I just thought they went in there and just blabbed on their own. I was young and naive.

Still, if they were to reveal some of the DR conversations with BB talking, it might make things a bit more interesting. Come on, what does BB have to lose at this point? More ratings? I think we are already at that point.

True, it might be their last resort to save the show. Hookers, drug addicts, strippers, bums, bible thumpers and penthouse pets can't keep the ratings up alone.

Bias or not, the show has worked pretty well up to this point. It's interesting until there are only a couple of people left in the house and it's definitely entertaining. I know the DR manipulates, and it's part of the deal in my book. But ya know..it sucks that this is the worst season ever..this is my first with the live feeds. I did catch some BBAD last season. *sigh* I would love to see some DR time revealed...especially when the HGs are losing their mind over something. I figure they'll have to do something to change things up either this summer or immediately after, otherwise it's curtains for BB. They need come up with something quick after the way this season has gone. It seems the trashiest moments were the most interesting, and I don't care for that myself. I'm far from innocent or a prude, but if I want to see an orgy in the tub or James doing his Dick Swinger porn star routine, I'll tune in to the Playboy Channel.

Good post MrsFroman.

The game of Big Brother used to be played with the brain and not the body. (as in sex) It was so interesting the strategy conversations they used to have. They had drama but it was mostly just the drama of who would win the comps etc. I love humor and I thought the old BB's had so much more humor. This year the sex shows the blow ups and the crying is not entertaining. The F word every other sentence gets on my nerves. Yes I am still watching this year because like reading a book you want to know the what is in the next chapter and the outcome.

I really really hope that next season goes back to its roots. I hope that BB stops trying to manipulate the HG. JMO

It's called Occam's Razor.

The simplest solution or answer is usually the correct one.

Are we to believe that the dozens of comments from houseguests about DR manipulation have all been gameplay over the last two years and none of this is true? That sounds silly.

OR, should we believe that some of these houseguests ARE telling the truth because the chances of them all lying seems a bit ridiculous.

Occam's Razor folks.

I had to look up Occam's Razor in Wikepedia

Occam's razor

From the Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can change

Jump to: navigation, search

Occam's razor (or Ockham's razor) is a principle from philosophy. It says that the simplest explanation is usually the best one.

William of Ockham, a Franciscan friar who studied logic in the 14th century, first made it well known. The principle says that if there are several possible ways that something might have happened, the way that has the least guesses involved is probably the right one. In Latin this is sometimes called lex parsimoniae, or "the law of briefness". William of Ockham wrote it as:

Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem'.'

This can be translated as:

Things shouldn't be done more times than they need to be.

In other words, you don't need to think of a lot of other explanations for something when you already have a simple one.

Occam's razor often comes up in medicine when there are many explanations for symptoms and the simplest diagnosis usually is the correct one.

Honestly I didn't catch on to the manipulation last year except when Jen told us what the diary room thought she should do. Then it was like wah?? :inquisitive:

It is so apparent to me this year that they are trying hard to keep James in the game. Not the other HG but James. I know they edit James to be this poor guy on his own island and just a free spirt riding his bike around the world nice guy. CBS viewers are to think he is an outcast that all the other HG are trying to get rid of and poor James ........ all alone.

If you put funny interesting people in the house people will glam on to who they like and then just let it play out...

but is it rigged or just manipulated? rigged would be they hand james a get off the block free card. the manipulation works if the houseguests are gullible. i remember jen from last year saying they would try to influence her, and she wouldn't let them. i know it's manipulated, i'm not questioning that...i don'

t even have a problem with it.

Not rigged but manipulated and that is why they have a bunch of sorry ass HG that don't have brains.

I think the manipulation began with Grodner.

People only get mad about this because they can see things real time. Survivor, Amazing Race, Real World, etc. are no different.

I agree BB does pose questions in a suggestive way in the DR, but all the competitons aren't rigged. Yes they do put out competitions that they would like to see certain HGs do well in (Amy's beauty school competiton in BB3) but anything beyond that is really stretching it.

and just like Dick has said many times on Housecalls...Big Brother wasn't designed to be compeletely fair to anyone. There is no sign on the door that says circumstance doesn't affect the game.

Isn't manipulation part of life? I dont' think it's a problem most of the time, but bias -actually takes it a little over the top. However as I said before, it's part of the deal and we know that. BB will have to change it up a bit or go bye bye.

This season the HG's talk about what goes on in DR a lot more than last year and we hear quite a bit before the flames come on. It's amazes me how much they talk about it and makes us all know just how manipulating DR is.

I never knew DR actually told people how to act and tried to sway votes.

Thes guys need someone to help them out a bit. Your in a game 24/7 and all you hear is lies and the truth all day long. Its would be like your head being fill with sawdust. You get so much crap up there you cant tell your own thoughts from one someone in the house put there. You need someone to lay the cards on the table and tell you the options and reasons. Help organize things a bit.

This year they need it, the partnership thing threw everyones game off. you cant tell me James is not playing for Chelsia, or Nasty playing for Matt. These guys dont get bright ideas. They get dim thoughts. :frusty:

Yes, people get manipulated all the time, but this is a game and there is money involved for the winner. I suppose they have nothing better to do than live there for whatever reason, but they are still giving up their free time to win money...so I think manipulation is wrong in this case. Also, the manipulation benefits the producers in some way--meaning ratings.
