  1. Sarah is probably my favourite right now. She's playing well and she entertains me.
  2. Willow was invisible to me for the whole beginning of this season, but she's starting to grow on me this week. She's fun!
  3. I thought it was funny, anyway. This is a very slow forum this time around!
  4. I'm calling Adel as my early favourite. He seems like a nice guy (so far!).
  5. Oh, Paul. Those are some big, dirty mistakes you're making! Accusing someone of racism on national tv when you don't even believe it? Yuck.
  6. I agree entirely. I don't get the 'mannish', 'bully', etc stuff. She seems like a woman who knows how to play the game and also will tell you if you're being a dumbass (or a racist). She seems intelligent, quick and comfortable with herself. I'm cool with her.
  7. The fact that Candice and Howard have to have a conversation like that in the Big Brother house makes me feel sick.
  8. That's a pretty awesome paint job, actually. What did she use?
  9. I think in general the Canadian version was so much less manipulated. It was played much more like a game than entertainment, but it still managed to be incredibly entertaining.
  10. I just wanted to comment on how much I love that you used the word, "dolt". Yay! Also! Aaryn is a type of person I've never met before. I'm pretty okay with that fact.
  11. The question is: is she going to reflect and learn from it, or take it as something done TO her rather than something she did to herself?
  12. I think the firings are fair. My husband fired a guy from his crew for referring to a gay fellow construction worker as a "faggot" over beers after work. Hate speech isn't childish comments and there is no excuse for it. It's not like these people have been secretly filmed without their knowledge. They're aware that they are being broadcast internationally, for crying out loud. Frankly I'm surprised to see anyone, on any site, defending them, and I'm also surprised that no one in the house has called them out on it. My children know to stand up for the bullied, and they are 8 and 6.
  13. I don't mind Nick. He seems like he wants to play hard, which I always like. The fact that this thread for him this week is so short is probably a good sign for him.
  14. I was all prepared to dislike Elissa, as I was never a Rachael fan, but I think she might be my favourite. And that fact is definitely the result of the rest of the cast being so unpleasant.
  15. Reading the things that she and Ginamarie have said makes me feel nauseated. I don't really have a problem with swearing (I think we Canadians swear more than Americans overall) but I have no interest in tolerating someone spewing hate speech.
  16. I ditto the thanks! I don't have time to watch the live feeds so I love being able to come here to read the updates!
  17. I don't know; I kind of liked that they were personalized to each contestant. The Peter/salad one was fantastic.
  18. I don't know if the Shield is much of a secret anymore. I agree re: the next HOH competition - there's been enough q & a comps. Time for an endurance!
  19. Oh, AJ. Why did they save Andrew over AJ? Just curious because of the whole East vs West thing on last night's show.
  20. I still like Talla. Yeah, she's a bit much, but I think she's fairly kind. I don't watch the live feeds though - am I way off?
  21. I think Canadians tend to have pretty big potty mouths (TPB, anyone?) but it's not usually offensive, or said in anger; more used as expressive language. People 'round my part of Canada are big swearers but are super-careful around children or religious people. My American BB watching leads me to the conclusion that Americans swear more out of anger; is that accurate, neighbours to the south?
  22. Not really, but every time I go to Havre, Montana everyone there asks if I'm Canadian, even before they see my obviously Canadian bank card/credit card, and I can't figure out how they can tell!
  23. Hmm, you might be right that generally people think of them as the same thing. In my head they are different. Haha. For example (and this is kind of a dumb example): in my younger days I worked at a McDs near a border crossing. I could usually tell whether someone was Canadian or American because the Canadians would say, "could I get a Big Mac, please?" And the Americans would say, "I'll have a Big Mac". One is more polite, but I don't think that it makes the others unkind. Just a different way of talking. Or, if someone bumps into me, I say "sorry" not because I'm sincerely sorry but because it's customary. It's just what we do.
  24. I think these contestants are very Canadian. I think the "niceness" things gets confused with politeness. Canadians are very polite, but I'm not sure we're any nicer than Americans. I think the biggest difference between the countries' BBs are that when there has been conflict, ie Tom and Suzette, Emmet and Suzette, they sat down and talked about it face to face.
