He started dating Alves, a native of Rio De Janeiro, after breaking up with Spanish actress Penelope Cruz in 2006. McConaughey announced the new arrival in a posting on his Web site. Now comes the greatest adventure -- raising one, together." Alves, a model and handbag designer, recently said she plans to take time off once the baby arrives. "More important than anything is that I have a peaceful life and a peaceful home," she said.

Blanchett missed out on a second Oscar at this year's ceremony, losing to Tilda Swinton and Marion Cotillard in two female acting categories. She is shortly to star alongside Harrison Ford as Agent Irina Spalko in the fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" series, titled "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." 4. Baby News Elisabeth Hasselbeck 'Views' A Son Tim and Elisabeth Hasselbeck "The View" Co-Host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 30, and Arizona Cardinals Player Tim Hasselbeck, 29, welcomed their second child, a son, on the morning of Friday, November 9, at an Arizona hospital, the network announced Saturday. The bouncing baby boy weighed in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces. Their baby arrived two days before his due date without complications for the child or the television host. The Hasselbecks did not release the name of their new son in the birth announcement. Instead, his name will be shared during Monday's "The View" in a phone call to her fellow co-hosts. "Elisabeth and I are happy to announce the arrival of our son and we're thrill he arrived safely," Elisabeth's NFL quarterback husband, said in a statement. "Both mom and son are happy and healthy." Elisabeth Hasselbeck The new baby joins big sister, Grace Elisabeth, 2-1/2. The couple had been open about their secondary infertility, finally announcing that they were expecting again in April. They kept the sex a delivery surprise. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, known as the most conservative voice on the show's panel, bid farewell to her co-hosts on October 23 to begin a two-and-a-half month maternity leave. Hasselbeck originally was scheduled to take maternity leave on November 9, but left instead at the end of October. Hasselbeck announced her pregnancy on the show in April. "It was not easy to leave my co-hosts and our crew early," Elisabeth Hasselbeck wrote in an e-mail earlier this week, "but it was more than clear to me that I want my family to be under the same roof when our baby arrived." Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck face off The former "Survivor" Contestant became a 'View' staple after she won a nationwide search in 2003 for a co-host to replace Lisa Ling. Her conservative viewpoints often placed her at odds with her former co-host Rosie O'Donnell during the comedienne's one-year stint on the show last season. The debates between the two became must-see television. Their most heated argument culminated in a split-screen view of Hasselbeck and O'Donnell arguing about the war on terror in May 2007. During the confrontation, O'Donnell accused Hasselbeck of not defending her more forcefully against conservative commentators. The verbal sparring nearly brought Hasselbeck to tears on-air and hastened O'Donnell's show exit.

Mrs. Asner seeks spousal support and attorney fees, with property rights to be determined later. The couple have no minor children, according to the filing, first reported by CelebTV.com. 6. Arrest News 'Transformers' Star Shia LaBeouf Arrested by Stephen M. Silverman Shia LaBeouf's mug shot "Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf, formerly of Disney's hit tween show, "Even Stevens," was arrested in a Chicago drug store early Sunday morning in Chicago after a night at the Chi-Town hotspot, The Underground, reports CBS News. LeBeouf was cited on a misdemeanor count of trespassing for refusing to leave the store after numerous requests to vacate the premises. A security guard in a downtown Chicago Walgreens repeatedly told LaBeouf that he was to leave the store because he appeared intoxicated, say police. When the young actor refused, the guard alerted police. The arrest occurred at around 2:30 a.m. Following his arrest, LaBeouf was described by authorities as "very courteous and polite" to the arresting officers. Bond was posted for the 21-year-old actor before 7 a.m., police said. Police did not give LeBeouf a sobriety test since he was not behind the wheel of a car. Next year, LaBeouf will appear in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Shia LeBeouf on the set of 'Indiana Jones 4' LeBeouf is the second teen Disney phenom to notch a mug shot under their belt, dutifully following in the footsteps of the pioneer Disney bad girl -- Lindsay Lohan. Like the recovering Lohan, LeBeouf is one of the most acclaimed young actors in Hollywood. I doubt the arrest will hurt his career too much since this is his first run-in with the fuzz. All he needs to do is keep the partying under control and stay away from shopping at late night pharmacies. LaBeouf, star of the upcoming fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" series, is scheduled to be in court on November 28. After growing up watching Disney tween shows like "Bug Juice," "Flash Forward" and "Even Stevens," it's a bit hard for me to come to terms with the fact that Louis Stevens was arrested. I guess stars have to shed their squeaky clean mouse ears image sometime.

Hospital News Rock Pioneer Bo Diddley Suffers Heart Attack Rock Pioneer Bo Diddley GAINESVILLE, Florida -- Ailing rock 'n' roll pioneer Bo Diddley suffered a heart attack while undergoing a medical check-up, and is in stable condition in a Florida hospital, his spokeswoman said on Tuesday. "The situation is very serious" for Bo Diddley, who suffered a heart attack in Florida on Friday, August 24. The legend's publicist says he fell ill at a doctor's check-up, was moved to intensive care, and is now in stable condition. The 78-year-old musician, whose distinctive rhythms and guitar style influenced rockers from Buddy Holly to the Rolling Stones and U2, felt unwell during a check-up last Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was transferred to the emergency room where he suffered the heart attack, spokeswoman Susan Clary said in a statement. He underwent surgery so that a stent could be fitted to help blood flow to his heart. He was moved from intensive care to cardiac care on Tuesday morning, Clary said. "He is conscious," she said. "The situation is very serious." Bo Diddley Diddley, whose real name is Ellas Bates, suffered a stroke in May. It left no physical disability, but it impaired his speech and speech recognition, his manager said at the time. In recent years he also lost some toes to diabetes. Diddley helped lay the foundation for rock 'n' roll in the mid-1950s when he developed a syncopated "hambone" beat -- known as the "Bo Diddley" beat -- that was aped by Holly on "Not Fade Away," the Who on "Magic Bus," George Michael on "Faith" and U2 on "Desire." Diddley topped the charts in 1955 with the song, "Bo Diddley" and went on to enjoy such hits as "Mona" (covered by the Rolling Stones), "Who Do You Love" and "I'm A Man." He also cut an imposing figure on stage, sporting a pair of thick spectacles and playing a rectangular guitar. Diddley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, alongside bluesman Muddy Waters, and soul icons Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye. But he never received the same sort of mainstream recognition as his peers, and frequently complained that he never received a royalty check.
