'Whale Rider's' Keisha Castle-Hughes Expecting

Keisha Castle-Hughes

"Whale Rider" star Keisha Castle-Hughes, 16, and her boyfriend, Bradley Hull, 19, are expecting their first child this spring, her representative tells People. The two have been dating for three years.

The actress first made waves playing the fiery Paikea in 2002's "Whale Rider" – a role for which she received a Best Actress Oscar nomination. At 13, she was the youngest Best Actress nominee in history. "I thought I was still dreaming," she said about the honor at the time.

Since "Whale Rider," Castle-Hughes has taken few roles, though she did play the Queen of Naboo in 2005's "Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith" and will appear as Mary in the upcoming movie "The Nativity Story" co-starring Shohreh Aghdashloo.

The Australia-born actress grew up and still lives in New Zealand and – like her character in "Whale Rider" – is part Maori.

Fashion Baby Alert on 'Project Runway'

Nina Garcia

The fashion baby boom continues on "Project Runway." Nina Garcia, Elle fashion director and "Project Runway" judge, can now add mother-to-be to her formidable résumé. The Colombian native and her husband, David Conrod, a senior managing director at Guggenheim Capital LLC, are happily expecting their first child next March.

Garcia, who is now four months pregnant, is expected to attend New York's Fashion Week next February but will not be traveling to Milan and Paris. The couple is also currently in the midst of renovating a newly purchased apartment on the Upper East Side, which will now undoubtedly include a fully stocked nursery.

There must be something about the 'Runway.' Heidi Klum has gone through two pregnancies since "Project Runway's" premiere. Klum and husband, Seal's son, Henry, was born in 2005. Season three contestant, Laura Bennett, competed while expecting her sixth child and her sixth son.

Celebrities have been known to name their offspring with some unique and creative monikers. We don't often "get" the origin of their naming or the rationale behind the babies naming fate. Not that the names Melissa Etheridge and her partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels are all that abnormal but on her blog, hollywood farm girl, Tammy Lynn so eloquently and poetically blogged about the origins of the names of their recent twins. Thought I'd share it . . . Enjoy!

Heaven has been good to us
from the beginning of our journeys

Honey had her father
guiding her way through music
records at 4
guitars at 8
gigs from the age of 12
always always
holding her hand,
lighting her way:
"Listen to Neil, Missy
do you hear that lyric?
do you hear that music?
now THAT is a fine song writer"

he taught her all he knew
and some of what he didn't know,
he was the most important person in her life
he passed away when she was 30
his name was John

Johnnie

Evelyn
the Big Indian Chief
as she called herself to
all 20-something of us little ones,
the babysitter of the neighborhood
enough love in her
to fill two dozen children
daily,
she was my buddha mama
potty-training me
loving me
disciplining me
never letting me get away with
trouble-making
always good for a rocking in her chair
on her cushy belly of love
big enough to hold three small children
as I've said before
her middle name

Rose

the music teacher in 8th grade
who saw me crying
and pulled me aside
to let me know
I was not invisible
and neither was my pain
she was my first
confidante
she was the one
who took the knives out of my hands
she was the one
who taught me how to fly
her last name

Miller

Honey's brother
not by blood, but
brother by soul
by spirit
he was there during her downs
her ups
before I even came into the picture
he helps us keep privacy
like you wouldn't believe
sneaking us in and out of hospitals
for cancer
chemo
radiation
fertility appointments
OB appointments
pre-labor hospital appointments

he is
part guardian angel
part body guard,
part brother,
and all

Flavor Flav Expecting Seventh Child

Flavor Flav

Flavor Flav, who's dating "Flavor of Love" winner Deelishis, is expecting a child his seventh with another woman, his manager, Clifton Johnson, confirmed. The baby is due in early January, he said. Johnson would not reveal the mother's identity. The new baby joins his three sons and three daughters.

When things didn't work out with Nicole 'Hoopz' Alexander, who won the first season of his hit VH1 reality show, Flav resumed an "on and off" relationship with the baby-to-be's mother "hence, the conception," Johnson said.

Deelishis (real name London Charles), whom Flav chose in the recent second-season finale of "Flavor of Love," is reportedly standing by her man. "She understands that this is definitely something prior to her involvement on the show and her involvement with Flav, and she says she supports him regardless," Johnson said.

Flavor Flav (real name William Drayton Jr.), 47, founded the hip-hop group, Public Enemy, in the '80s. He found fame anew in 2004 on the third season of VH1's "The Surreal Life." He has since starred in the network's "Strange Love" and "Flavor of Love."

It's A Boy for Scully

Gillian Anderson

The truth is finally out there. Less than eight months after separating from her husband, Gillian Anderson, the former "X-Files" star, has given birth to a son. The father of the baby is Anderson's new boyfriend Mark Griffiths, director of a lucrative wheel-clamping firm.

The couple's son, Oscar, was born three weeks early at the exclusive Portland hospital in central London on Wednesday, November 1, weighing 6 lbs 8 oz. But the birth was made public only this weekend after he came out of intensive care. A heavily pregnant Anderson, 38, was last seen in October at the premiere of her new film, "The Last King of Scotland," about Idi Amin.

The actress was previously married to Clyde Klotz, an art director on "The X-Files," with whom she has a 12-year-old daughter, Piper Maru. The UK-based American actress came to prominence in the 1990s playing Dana Scully, an FBI special agent, in "The X-Files." Her escapades with aliens and freaks turned her into a pin-up for geeks.

Gillian Anderson

Her acting talent, however, was recognized this year when she was nominated for both an English Bafta Award and an American Emmy Award for her portrayal of Lady Dedlock in the BBC's adaptation of "Bleak House."

In April, Anderson announced her separation from the film-maker Julian Ozanne, her second husband, after 16 months of marriage. After the split Anderson reportedly said: "I'm incredibly strong willed and like to do things my way. If I'm 100% honest, part of me thinks my way is always the right way."

Anderson is believed to have met Griffiths, 34, when her relationship with Ozanne was in trouble. She told friends she was pregnant with Oscar just three months after the split. Griffiths has been linked in the past to Geri Halliwell, the former Spice Girl.

"Both mother and baby are doing fine now," Anderson's spokesman said last night.

Cruise, Holmes leave for honeymoon
By MARIA SANMINIATELLI

BRACCIANO, Italy -
Officially, they got married in Los Angeles, but the spectacle of the wedding between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes was here, in a 15th-century castle that evoked fairy tales and lit up with red, white and green fireworks for a cheering, celebrity-laden crowd.

There were fireworks inside, too, a "never-ending kiss" between the betrothed after they exchanged vows Saturday. The kiss lasted so long it caused guests to shout "stop, stop!" said Giorgio Armani, who attended the wedding and designed the outfits of the bride, the groom and their baby, Suri.

The couple flew out of Rome Sunday for a honeymoon in the Maldives, said Ciampino airport spokesman Adriano Franceschetti. The rest of the wedding party was due to fly to Los Angeles later in the day.

The ceremony was a lavish apex to perhaps the celebrity world's most closely watched relationship, proclaimed with Cruise's leap on Oprah Winfrey's couch, bestowed with the nickname "TomKat" and raised to a new level seven months ago when Holmes gave birth to their daughter.

The evening wedding was performed by a Scientology minister in front of more than 150 relatives and friends, the couple's publicists said.

Oil-fed torches and tiny candles flickered from the battlements and windows of the Odescalchi castle in this lakeside town as the couple and guests gathered for the ceremony in the town about 45 kilometers (27 miles) northwest of Rome. Suri, dressed in white, arrived in her mother's arms.

The wedding party included Cruise's two children, Isabella and Connor, from the superstar actor's previous marriage to Nicole Kidman, the publicists said in a statement. The best man was Cruise's best friend David Miscavige and the matron of honor was Holmes' sister Nancy Blaylock.

Holmes wore a black dress and boots before she changed into Armani's off-the-shoulder ivory silk gown. Her father, Martin Holmes, walked her down the aisle and she carried a bouquet of flowers made by Armani including calla lilies.

Cruise, who sported dark shades and waved to fans as he rode through the castle gates in a van, wore a single breasted navy blue Armani handmade suit for the wedding, with an ivory silk French collar shirt of the same fabric as the bride's gown.

Armani told The Associated Press that Cruise, then Holmes, walked down a stone ramp lined with flag bearers in medieval costumes and to the roll of drums. They exchanged vows in a former stable decorated simply with white flowers. "For the Americans this was very special, because Americans do not have this kind of thing back home, and they dream of such things in our beautiful country, and you can see the surprise and the awe on their faces," said Armani, who also designed the clothes of the rest of the wedding party and the couple's immediate family.

Italian singer Andrea Bocelli serenaded the couple at the reception and the bride and groom cut a five-tiered white chocolate wedding cake. Fireworks later burst above the castle, but the view was marred by a foggy night.

Other famous guests included Brooke Shields, Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey and Victoria Beckham, wife of soccer star David Beckham and former Posh Spice of the Spice Girls.

The two stars arrived separately to the castle earlier Saturday, with pouring rain forcing Holmes and her daughter to take shelter under large, green umbrellas as they left their limousine. The sun was shining on the castle when Cruise arrived in a van from Rome, where the family had been staying in a luxury hotel near the Spanish Steps, with some fans shouting, "Tom, Tom!"

When the groom drove up, Holmes watched from a castle window and anxiously gestured with her hand.

Holmes was giving Cruise a Vacheron Constantin watch engraved simply, "I Love You," as a wedding gift, the company said. It said she bought the gift in Los Angeles last week.

As the sun began to set, candles were placed in pots along the road to the castle and in some of the windows. Men wearing tuxedos and women holding up the hems of their long gowns walked up the steep path to the castle.

Security was tight, with Carabinieri paramilitary police patrolling the walls of the castle and all vehicles banned from the center of Bracciano.

The flag of the Odescalchi family, whose ancestors include Benedetto Odescalchi, the 17th century pope Innocent XI, fluttered over the castle's towers. "When I first walked here, I didn't know why they chose this place," said Emily Roeder, 19, an American who came to Bracciano for the day from Florence, where she is studying. "Then I saw the castle and the streets all around, and it's really romantic."

Hundreds of the town's 14,000 residents and fans of the stars braved intermittent rain to catch a glimpse of the arrivals. "I want to see at least one of them — even if it's not Tom Cruise," said 15-year-old Erica Bandiera. "I want to see Beckham's wife," said her friend Luca Costanzi, 15, with a huge grin.

There was even a bit of stargazing on at least one Seville-to-Rome flight when the pilot pointed out to passengers the castle where the wedding was taking place.

Scientology ceremonies contain many elements of traditional weddings, including rings and vows. But they also include certain Scientology fundamentals, including vowing never to go to bed without communicating about any differences.

A spokesman for the Church of Scientology for Rome, Fabrizio D'Agostino, said an exchange of vows with a Scientology rite was not legally recognized in Italy, and would have to be preceded or followed by a civil union.

The publicists said Cruise and Holmes had "officialized their marriage in Los Angeles prior to their departure for Italy," saying that was customary for couples marrying outside the United States. Cruise's publicist Arnold Robinson wrote in response to an e-mailed question about whether that meant they had been married in a civil ceremony that "the required steps were taken for the marriage to be legal."

Holmes and Cruise became engaged in June 2005, about two months after they went public with their relationship, kissing and posing for photographers in Rome. Their daughter was born April 18.

Much of the attention given to Cruise since their relationship began has been negative. He was mocked for the couch-jumping episode, criticized for his comments about Shields' use of prescription drugs to treat postpartum depression and questioned about his embrace of Scientology, the religion founded by science-fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard that holds an opposition to psychiatry and related medication among its tenets.

Cruise, star of the "Mission: Impossible" series and "War of the Worlds," was divorced from Kidman in 2001, was previously married to Mimi Rogers and had a high-profile romance with Penelope Cruz. Holmes, who starred in TV's "Dawson's Creek," and last year in "Batman Begins," had been engaged to Chris Klein.

'Project Runway' Klum Has New Male Model

Heidi Klum and Seal

Heidi Klum, 33, and her husband, Seal, 43, have welcomed a baby boy, according to the supermodel's Web site. Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel was born Wednesday, November 22 at 5:01 p.m. in Los Angeles. "He is healthy, beautiful and looks just like his mother," according to the post signed by Seal.

Seal posted the following message on Klum's official website:
To our children, a brother
To our parents, a grandson
To my wife and I, a son
To our family, a blessing.

The 8 lb. 11 oz. arrival is the third child for the supermodel and her second with the British singer, who is also father to the couple's 14-month-old son, Henry Guenther Ademola Dashtu Samuel. Klum's 2-1/2-year-old daughter, Leni, is from a previous relationship with Formula One manager Flavio Briatore.

Seal and Heidi Klum

Klum and Seal confirmed that they were expecting another child in June. The couple began dating in February 2004, while Klum was pregnant with Leni and married in May 2005 on a beach near the singer's home on Mexico's luxurious Costa Careyes.

From the start, Seal, whose real name is Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, was like a father to Leni. "The arrival of any child brings you a lot of happiness," he said last year prior to the birth of Henry. "If we're lucky enough, we'll have more."

Klum, the German-born star of Bravo's "Project Runway" wholeheartedly concurs. In August, she told Life magazine, "We want to have a lot of children. (Seal) always says that he finds me the most beautiful when I'm pregnant."

Last November, just two months after Henry was born, the proud papa said that he and Klum "try to spend as much time as possible together. There are days we never get out of our pajamas. We play with the kids in bed, watch TV, cook, hang out." Klum added, "Our kids are a constant source of amusement."

Heidi Klum and Seal

Thanks to the Web site, RTL, the meanings of Johan's names. Johan is a Nordic and German version of the name Johannes, a Hebrew name that means, "The Lord is gracious." Riley is traditionally Irish in background and means "small stream or creek."

Fyodor is Russian and means "God's gift" and Taiwo means "to smell/taste the world" in Yoruba. In twin births in Africa (Seal is English with a Nigerian/Brazilian background) the first twin in a set is often called or nicknamed Taiwo.

RTL also confirms that Leni's name is simply 'Leni Klum' -- she has no middle name, unlike her brothers' multiple ones! Also, RTL reports that Johan's birth was Heidi's first Cesarean section. No reason was given, but we assume it was not elective due to Heidi's quote from a year ago after Henry's birth:

"Henry's birth was easier than Leni's, because I knew what to expect. I would never consider an elective c-section for a few reasons - because I like the experience of a vaginal birth, and also I am scared to have my abdomen cut open!"

Leni and Heidi Klum with Seal and Henry Samuel

Seal has also posted a new blog -- it reads: "Mama and baby are doing great. She is so good at having babies, I feel so blessed and fortunate to have a wife like her, they are both so beautiful. Leni and Henryboy were both so excited seeing him yesterday.

It's amazing how much he looks like Leni when she was born. I mean, he is completely different looking from Henryboy so as Lauren put it, he will surely look more like HK as he grows. He is so precious and really hasn't been that noisy on his first night spent on earth.

Wow! what an amazing experience to have been a part of. Thanks for all the kind wishes that you guys keep sending us. You're all the best fans anyone could ever have . . . I really mean that."

'Dancing' Star Willa Ford Engaged

Mike Modano and Willa Ford announced their engagement in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, California -- Willa Ford doesn't wanna be bad anymore—she wants to be married. Former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Willa Ford is engaged. Ford broke the news on Thursday, November 30 at the Action Sports Awards in Los Angeles that she is set to marry National Hockey League Star Mike Modano.

The 25-year-old Ford said Modano popped the question in bed. Ford recalled, "We were out to dinner the other night, and I think he had it (the ring) with him the entire night. He was really nervous. Then right before we went to sleep he asked me and I said, 'Yes.'"

The 36-year-old Modano, who is a center for the Dallas Stars, had the ring he bought redesigned three times before proposing because he was nervous about having it "just right." She and Modano plan to wed at the conclusion of his hockey season.

Willa Ford shows off her diamond engagement sparkler

The couple has been dating on and off for four years, mostly long distance because of their schedules. Modano has been playing professional hockey since 1988 when he was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars, the team which went on to become the Dallas Stars.

Ford was previously linked romantically to Nick Carter from 1998-2001. During "Dancing With the Stars," Ford was also rumored to be dating her dancing partner, Maksim Chmerkoskiy. However, Ford finally admitted she was never involved with Chmerkoskiy. "Everybody thought it was going to be Maks!" Ford said of her engagement.

The duo was eliminated from "Dancing With the Stars" in October after the fifth week of competition. Shortly thereafter, Ford said in an ABC interview that they were "not an official couple," while Chmerkovskiy posted on his Web site that they were "very close friends."

Mike Modano and Willa Ford

"I really like her and we are having a great time together. If you don't mind I would like to leave it at that," Chmerkovskiy wrote. The fleet-footed twosome was due to reunite for the "Dancing With the Stars" Tour later this month.

Unfortunately, Chmerkovskiy was forced to pull out for personal reasons and Ford opted not to dance with a different partner. Instead, the singer will be heading into the studio to work on her next album, which is due out next summer.

Rancic proposed to DePandi on Friday, December 15 during a cozy evening helicopter ride over his hometown of Chicago. He sealed the deal with some deep-dish pizza, champagne, chocolate cake and a generous sprinkling of rose petals.

"At first, I thought Bill was surprising me with a helicopter ride over downtown Chicago to see the Christmas lights," DePandi described . "Then, suddenly he pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen and asked me to marry him. I was so excited I could barely speak," says DePandi.

Bill Rancic and Giuliana DePandi

"When we got back to his house, he had roses and rose petals scattered everywhere and a big chocolate cake sitting next to a bottle of our favorite wine," DePandi added. "It was the best night of my life." The couple, who have been dating for nearly a year, are planning a late 2007 wedding in DePandi's native southern Italy, she says.

Although DePandi and Rancic first met when she interviewed him following his "Apprentice" hiring in April 2004, they didn't get romantic until earlier this year. During an interview for a Boys & Girls Club charity event, DePandi asked Rancic on air if he was dating anyone. He said no and, when the cameras stopped rolling, asked her out.

Rancic, 35, has worked in various capacities for the Trump Organization since his reality-show win, and will again appear as one of Donald Trump's sidekicks during the upcoming season of "The Apprentice," which kicks off Sunday, January 7. DePandi, 31, a managing editor at "E! News," began her stint as an anchor alongside Ryan Seacrest last year.

ANAHEIM, California -- Tiger Woods celebrated his 31st birthday on Saturday, December 30 by sharing some of his biggest news of the year -- his wife is expecting their first child this summer. "Obviously, we couldn't be happier and our families are thrilled. I have always wanted to be a dad." Woods exclaimed.

"I just wish my father could be around to share the experience," Woods sadly added. Tragically, Woods' father, Earl, succumbed to prostate cancer in May, 2006. "He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband and friend," Woods said. "I wouldn't be where I am today without him, and I'm honored to continue his legacy of sharing and caring."

Here Alan Cumming the Grooms

Grant Shaffer and Alan Cumming

NEW YORK CITY, New York -- Tony Award-winning Scottish actor, Alan Cumming married American illustrator Grant Shaffer in a civil ceremony outside London over the weekend, the actor's spokeswoman, Bianca Bianconi said. Burke Makes 'Dancing' Love Connection

Cheryl Burke and Matthew Lawrence

"Dancing With the Stars" champ Cheryl Burke has found a new partner – off the dance floor. It's none other than Matthew Lawrence, the brother of Season Three contestant Joey Lawrence, a source tells People Magazine. "They are definitely together," says a friend of Burke's. "Cheryl is very happy."

The new couple were spotted getting cozy during the 'Dancing' wrap party in Atlantic City at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa on Monday, February 12. "Matthew and Cheryl were dancing close in the VIP area to a few songs and to [Justin Timberlake's] 'What Comes Around," an onlooker said.

According to another source, Burke, 22, had champagne, strawberries and a cake with the top reading "Happy Birthday Matt" sent to her suite at the Borgata on Sunday evening. The reason? It could be because Lawrence turned 27 on Sunday, February 11.

The couple met during the season three taping of Dancing, but didn't get involved until they reconnected during the tour. "It's early days," says Burke's pal, "but I don't think I've ever seen Cheryl this happy."

Bryan Still 'Dancing' with Partner
by Kate Stroup

Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas

After weeks of speculation, "Dancing With the Stars" recently ousted Sabrina Bryan is coming clean about her off-screen sparks with dance partner, Mark Ballas. In fact, she's positively gushing. "I absolutely love and adore him," she told TVGuide.com.

And thanks to their shocking October 30 departure from the show, the former favorites finally have time to explore their feelings—starting with a romantic night out this weekend. "['Mark is'] joking that it's our first date," she told TV Guide. "We've always hung out, millions of times, millions of dinners. But this is different."

"We've been so focused on the competition . . . but now that that has died down, we'll see where it goes," Bryan said of their blossoming romance. "We haven't had a chance to do any of that [dating] or even talk about it. We didn't even realize that people would think that about us until they started asking us."

The Cheetah Girls include: (L-R) Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams
and Sabrina Bryan

Bryan added, "Because you get so close to someone, you get so comfortable, that you don't even see it." Though their dances on the show were full of passion, fans really didn't get to see the true depth of their feelings until Sabrina got the boot and she lovingly called Mark "baby" as they said goodbye on air.

Bryan and Ballas are not the first to find love on the dance floor. Mario Lopez and his former partner, Karina Smirnoff moved in together last spring. One of the reasons Bryan and Ballas appeared to have struck up a romance was the serious amount of time they spent together rehearsing.

"He's just so close to me," Bryan said. "And the fact that Mark and I were able to get so close so quickly was so awesome. It made everything so comfortable. It made me able to trust him in ways that would've stopped or held back my performances had I not trusted him."

"I mean, I'm in a music group now with the Cheetah Girls," Bryan continued. "And one of my biggest fears was stepping away from them and not having someone around me that I felt was my true family. The Cheetah Girls feels like family."

Elisabeth Hasselbeck 'Views' A Son

Tim and Elisabeth Hasselbeck

"The View" Co-Host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 30, and Arizona Cardinals Player Tim Hasselbeck, 29, welcomed their second child, a son, on the morning of Friday, November 9, at an Arizona hospital, the network announced Saturday. The bouncing baby boy weighed in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces.

Their baby arrived two days before his due date without complications for the child or the television host. The Hasselbecks did not release the name of their new son in the birth announcement. Instead, his name will be shared during Monday's "The View" in a phone call to her fellow co-hosts.

"Elisabeth and I are happy to announce the arrival of our son and we're thrill he arrived safely," Elisabeth's NFL quarterback husband, said in a statement. "Both mom and son are happy and healthy."

Elisabeth Hasselbeck

The new baby joins big sister, Grace Elisabeth, 2-1/2. The couple had been open about their secondary infertility, finally announcing that they were expecting again in April. They kept the sex a delivery surprise.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, known as the most conservative voice on the show's panel, bid farewell to her co-hosts on October 23 to begin a two-and-a-half month maternity leave. Hasselbeck originally was scheduled to take maternity leave on November 9, but left instead at the end of October. Hasselbeck announced her pregnancy on the show in April.

"It was not easy to leave my co-hosts and our crew early," Elisabeth Hasselbeck wrote in an e-mail earlier this week, "but it was more than clear to me that I want my family to be under the same roof when our baby arrived."

Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck face off

The former "Survivor" Contestant became a 'View' staple after she won a nationwide search in 2003 for a co-host to replace Lisa Ling. Her conservative viewpoints often placed her at odds with her former co-host Rosie O'Donnell during the comedienne's one-year stint on the show last season. The debates between the two became must-see television.

Their most heated argument culminated in a split-screen view of Hasselbeck and O'Donnell arguing about the war on terror in May 2007. During the confrontation, O'Donnell accused Hasselbeck of not defending her more forcefully against conservative commentators. The verbal sparring nearly brought Hasselbeck to tears on-air and hastened O'Donnell's show exit.

Milo and Hayden Go Public
January 2, 2008
Sources: Buddy TV, People, Popsugar.com

After months of speculation and denial, Heroes stars Milo Ventimiglia and Hayden Panettiere are now being considered an item.

"Hayden's mom adores Milo. She thinks he's so cute," a family friend told People magazine just before the turn of the year. "She tells her friends that he's her boyfriend. She's very proud."

The magazine is also reporting that Ventimiglia, who plays Peter Petrelli on Heroes, spent time with Panettiere's entire family while in New York City last month.

"He's even met her grandparents,” the friend said. “He fits in perfectly with the family. Milo jokes around with her little brother. They're buddies."

Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia are also apparently “very affectionate and very comfortable around each other.”

“He really takes care of her, even down to the little things like giving her a back massage and going with her to work things,” the friend added.

A representative for the actress, who plays Claire Bennett on the series, has neither confirmed nor denied the reports, simply saying that they do not address “inquiries from the media regarding Ms. Panettiere's personal life.”

The new development in the Heroes stars' romance comes in the wake of a report made by The Sun, claiming that Milo Ventimiglia had referred to Hayden Panettiere as his “girlfriend” and said that “he loved her” during a pre-Christmas Walter Grill party in Los Angeles.

Ventimiglia is 12 years older than Panettiere, which accounts for the slight generation gap between the two Heroes stars.

"At first it doesn't seem like there's a big age difference, but then you do see it,” the friend told People. “He's more proper and reserved, and she's still playful and very girly."

The two were first rumored to be dating in September, after they were seen getting cozy at an Emmy's party. They denied the reports, although by mid-November, it became clear that they shared a close relationship, having been spotted together publicly at several benefits and other events.

"She and I are close friends,” Ventimiglia said some time before Thanksgiving. “It's only natural that people are going to couple us together."

SYDNEY, Australia -- Toni Collette has given birth to her first child, a baby girl, Australian media reported. The Sydney-born actress and her husband, musician Dave Galafassi, welcomed Sage Florence Galafassi into the world Wednesday, January 9, a spokeswoman told the Australian Associated Press.

"Both mother and baby are very well and very happy," the spokeswoman was quoted as saying. Collette, 35, was nominated for a best supporting-actress Oscar for her role in the 1999 supense film, "The Sixth Sense." Her screen credits also include “Little Miss Sunshine,” “The Night Listener" and "Muriel's Wedding."

She announced her pregnancy in July, saying she had recently been leaning toward motherhood roles. "It is strange the last three films I've done I have been pregnant," Collette said at the time. "I'm just like, 'What is the universe trying to tell me?' But I think everything happens when it's meant to."

Nicole Richie

It's A Girl for Nicole Richie, Joel Madden

Nicole Richie and her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden are the parents of a daughter, the couple's representative at Handprint Entertainment tells People. Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born Friday, January 11 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz.

"The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents," says the rep, who confirmed the birth to People exclusively. Richie, 26, said she was pregnant in July, telling "Good Morning America's" Diane Sawyer: "I would really want to be someone my child would look up to."

Later, Richie, who had a famously wild childhood, said the idea of parenthood had made her more mature. "When I found out that I was pregnant, there was just something inside of me that felt a responsibility to mend any issues that I've had with my parents in the past, because, listen, I've put them through a lot," she said.

As for Good Charlotte frontman Madden, 28, he told People in November he was looking forward to being a dad. "Having a baby is the most exciting thing that's ever happened to me, and to us," he said.

And the new parents plan to teach their little one the value of generosity. In December, the couple started the Richie Madden Children's Foundation to help the less fortunate. "We want our child to be a part of the community, and to know that there's a responsibility to help the community," Madden said at the time.

The couple have yet to set a wedding date, but in September Madden said "marriage is in our future" – he just wasn't sure when. "Right now our priority is our family and is the baby," he said. "That's all we've been thinking about. We are in love and are really happy."

Courtney Thorne-Smith

'According to' Courtney . . . It's A Boy

Courtney Thorne-Smith and husband Roger Fishman welcomed a son, Jacob Emerson Fishman, on Friday, January 11, the actress's representative tells People Magazine. This is the first child for the "According to Jim" star and Fishman, who owns a media company.

"Mother and dad are thrilled," the representative says. "They say the baby is absolutely gorgeous." Thorne-Smith, 40, and Fishman, 47, were married on New Year's Day 2007.

Actress/Author Courtney Thorne-Smith, 40, and her husband Roger Fishman, 47, are first time parents after welcoming son Jacob 'Jake' Emerson this morning. Despite being almost two weeks late, Courtney refused to be induced and went into labor on her own last evening. Jake, weighing in at 6 lbs, 13 oz, arrived this morning after 12 hours of labor.

A friend said, "They were surprised and of course delighted when Jake arrived. She had selected the name Maya in the event she was greeted by a girl baby instead of a boy. Courtney's son's middle name Emerson is also her father's name."

She is happily breastfeeding at the moment and bounced back so fast from her delivery ordeal that she has been given the 'all clear' to leave the hospital tonight if she wants. Everything happened so quickly that Courtney's mom –- who had flown in for the birth weeks ago -– had already flown back home and wasn't able to arrive in time.

Grier, 51, and Kim, associate curator of the Studio Museum in Harlem, were married in July and had been splitting their time between New York and Los Angeles. Kim said last October she was having a smooth pregnancy,
