I heard about this a couple years ago, and I figured the project had been dropped, but it's on!

I was a big fan of DS and always rushed home from school to watch it.

Here's a link to all the details.

I LOVED Dark Shadows back in the day. Not sure how I feel about a "remake" so to speak, but I'll keep an open mind. It will need to be done right!

As much as I'm a huge fan, I readily admit it was cheesy, at times the acting was amazing, but most of the time it was pretty bad, so if they're true to the format, there's a chance this could be good. I'm hoping they use the Seaview Terrace estate as Collinwood like they did in the original, that house is so iconic to the series. The new owners of Seaview did a lot of restoration. They have a web site here but there's better info on the wiki.

Did you see the feature film they made in 1970, House of Dark Shadows? It wasn't too bad, all original castmembers the the plot that introduces Barnabas. They even made a sequel, but that was horrible.

I think I got both DS movies on VHS. And I remember watching it as a kid in the late 60s. My 11 year old cousin was a huge fan, she couldn't get enough of it in 1968. I re-watched a lot of the early episodes back when the Sci-Fi channel first came on TVRO satellite (before it was on cable), and it was fun to watch the first two years. At the time, they only showed the episodes up to the end of first time travel story line (where they return to the present and everyone is back around the room having the séance) and then started all over again from the very first episode.
