Biggest Loser: Bob Harper Talks About Eating Healthy

January 1, 2010 01:04:46 by Britteny Elrick

We all know that it’s Bob Harper’s job to stay in shape as a trainer on The Biggest Loser, but working out isn’t the only thing that contributes to being a healthy person. So what are Bob’s eating habits like behind closed doors? Keep reading to see what he had to say…

First of all, Bob loves to cook! He recently told PEOPLE, ”When I’m in L.A., I cook every night that I’m home. It’s really relaxing to me.” But what about if you’re a vegetarian? Doesn’t that make cooking sort of boring? ”People are always asking, ‘If I’m a vegetarian, are my options limited?’ ” he continued. “My answer is no way! There are so many great recipes out there to choose from, and I also love to experiment with different vegetables and grains. Guests are always surprised when they come over for dinner and I whip up pasta.”

It’s all about experimentation, he added. ”Working on The Biggest Loser, you have to get into the kitchen and make foods the contestants used to love to eat, but make them healthier, lower in calories and above all else, tasty. I always encourage people to go into the produce section of the grocery store and pick a vegetable that they aren’t used to working with, and see what they come up with.”

He also gave a recipe for roasted vegetable salad, which you can check out here.

The Biggest Loser premieres on Tuesday, January 5 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

The Biggest Loser: Couples Season 9 Premiere

January 5, 2010 09:52:39 by Lisa Princ

America’s favorite weight loss competition is back as The Biggest Loser premieres a brand new season on NBC. This time it is couples, which consist of family members only. This season Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper will be dealing with the unhealthiest bunch to date as we have some of the heaviest contestants in the show’s history. How will these couples possibly make it through the challenges? Details are inside, so keep reading to find out more!

For their very first challenge on The Biggest Loser the contestants are informed that they must strip down and do their very first weigh in in their home town in front of their friends, family & neighbors. We have our heaviest contestant to date, weighing in at 526 lbs, as well as two brothers who weigh almost a half of ton combined, yikes! You can meet all the contestants by clicking here.

Immediately upon arriving at the ranch, Ali Sweeney greets the contestants and takes them into the gym where she lets them know what their very first challenge will be. The contestants must ride 26.2 miles on a bike with the team who comes in first gaining immunity at the weigh in and the two last place teams will be asked to leave the ranch. She proceeds to inform them that there will also be a medical staff available to them at all times.

As The Biggest Loser teams on NBC duke it out on their bikes, one of the contestants, Cherita started cramping in her stomach, claiming the pain was worse than childbirth. The medical staff much to her dismay removed her from the bike and her daughter, Victoria was left to compete for both of them. Victoria was unable to pull it off and wound up in the bottom two along with father/daughter team of Sunshine and Oneal.

But both teams were in for a surprise as Jillian and Bob jumped in front of their limos to let them know that with their help and within 30 days the two teams would compete against one another to see who could lose more weight. Whichever team had the greater weight loss after 30 days would be coming back to the ranch to join in the competition again.

During their intense workouts on The Biggest Loser, Jillian was having a blast as she riled up Cheryl, who she thought was simply a sweet mom. Cheryl decided to release all her energy on the equipment leaving Jillian and Bob with their jaws hanging open, it was quite the scene! After the contestants swapped their stories, most of which consisted of their inability to find love due to their weight problems it was back to business.

Now it was weigh in time on The Biggest Loser and this how our teams fared:

Green: Migdalia from 265 to 249 (-16) & Miggy from 240 to 227 (-13) for a total of 5.74% (they were immune)

Gray: Koli from 403 to 374 (-29) & Sam from 372 to 354 (-18) for a total of 6.06%

Orange: Cheryl from 227 to 213 (-14) & Daris from 346 to 317 (-29) for a total of 7.5%

Black: Andrea from 298 to 284 (-14) & Darrell from 413 to 383 (-30) for a total of 6.19%

Brown: James from 485 to 462 (-23) & John from 484 to 461 (-23) for a total of 4.75%

Red: Lance from 365 to 343 (-21) & Melissa from 233 to 214 (-19) for a total of 6.69%

Purple: Patti from 243 to 220 (-23) & Stephanie from 264 to 246 (-18) for a total of 8.09%

Pink: Ashley from 374 to 353 (-21) & Sherri from 218 to 201 (-17) for a total of 6.42%

White: Mike from 526 to 485 (-41) & Maria from 281 to 268 (-13) for a total of 5.82%

Mike was thrilled as he had the biggest lose in The Biggest Loser history, however John and James were now in the bottom and they all had to chose whom to send home. It was a tough decision, but in the end they chose to send James home, although since being sent home James has lost 100 lbs, way to go! This is exactly why we love this show, and I for one, cannot wait until next week!

Be sure to tune in next Tuesday at 8 PM EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

The Biggest Loser: Doctor In The House

January 12, 2010 08:01:35 by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC the teams gear up for their second challenge and weigh in. Will an injury hurt one team’s chances of staying in the house? And just what does the doctor have to tell our teams? After a history making weight loss last time, would anyone make history again this week and with James’ departure last week, would John pull through this week or would he end up as the next loser sent home? You can view last week’s results here, but you’ll have to keep reading to find out the answers to these questions and get the exciting results this week!

As we head into the 2nd week on The Biggest Loser on NBC the teams are visited this week by a doctor who tries to motivate them with a little chat, and then hands them each an envelope with a medical task for each team. Each task was set up to show the teams just how unhealthy they really are. Some of the tasks included: Bob adding 303 lbs in weights to his body so Michael could watch his struggle from the outside as well as Jillian having to eat a meal in which one team consume regularly, which she wound up spitting out…..Jillian gets an A for effort though, but I don’t blame her for not wanting to eat that fatty fast food. Hopefully she has showed this team that cooking a healthy meal at home is much easier and healthier for them!

The challenge this week on The Biggest Loser on NBC revolves around balance as the teams are instructed to walk across a 40 foot balance beam set above a pool while carrying a beach ball. The first team to get 10 balls across would win immunity for the weigh in while the losing team would get a 2 lb penalty at the weigh in. If they were to fall off, they would have to start that one over again. Sounds easy enough, right?

Apparently balance is not an easy task for these teams as most of the teams struggled to get across, falling one by one into the pool and having to start over. It came down to the red team and black team in the lead and just as the black team thought they had it, Andrea lost her balance and ended up in the pool leaving the victory to Lance & Melissa of the red team. One by one the teams finished up, until it was down to two teams to finish up one of which being the white team as Maria was petrified to go across the beam.

Just as Maria of the white team on The Biggest Loser on NBC finally decided she could and would walk across the beam, she slipped and landed face first on the cement. With blood everywhere, the medics came and took her to the hospital, and Michael decided to go with her. Maria suffered a bloody nose, black eye and fractured finger and they also lost the challenge and would have to take the 2lb penalty at weigh in time. Luckily Jillian and Bob were able to talk some sense and light a fire back into Maria and Michael, but we’ll have to see how well it worked once they weigh in.

On the second half of The Biggest Loser on NBC the doctor is back to sit down with each individual team to discuss their health issues. He is determined to get these people to see how serious their health issues are. He shows Michael how much fat he has versus muscle which shocks Michael. Cheryl gets a shocker as he shows her that her inner age is really 75 and she is only 51, although the doctor contributes half of that to her smoking. Ashley also gets shocked by this when she is told her inner age is 57 and her real age is 27 and vows to completely change her ways to reverse the damage.

Next the teams get a last chance work out before their week 2 weigh in. Jillian and Bob push the contestants to their limits as they know week 2 is a hard week based on previous experiences. John vows that he will not go home and work extra hard because he is the entire brown team now and wants to make everyone proud. The red team takes it a little easier since they know they are immune to going home this week and Melissa is hoping a smaller loss this week will give her a bigger loss next week. We shall see about that one next week huh?

Now it’s weigh in time on The Biggest Loser on NBC and here is how the contestants fared this week:

Green: Migdalia from 249 to 245 (-4) & Miggy from 227 to 219 (-8) for a total of 2.52%

Gray: Koli from 374 to 366 (-8) & Sam from 354 to 345 (-9) for a total of 2.34 %

Orange: Cheryl from 213 to 210 (-3) & Daris from 317 to 310 (-7) for a total of 1.89 %

Black: Andrea from 284 to 279 (-5) & Darrell from 383 to 373 (-10) for a total of 2.25%

Brown: John from 461 to 451 (-10) for a total of 2.17 %

Red: Lance from 343 to 336 (-8) & Melissa from 214 to 215 (+1) for a total of 1.25 % (they had immunity and are safe)

Purple: Patti from 220 to 216 (-4) & Stephanie from 246 to 243 (-3) for a total of 1.5 %

Pink: Ashley from 353 to 345 (-8) & Sherri from 201 to 196 (-5) for a total of 2.35 %

White: Mike from 492 to 481 (-11) & Maria from 268 to258 (-10) for a total of 2.5%

During the weigh in, when asked if Bob believed that Melissa was not trying to have a small loss or a gain, he got a little irate asking that she please tell the truth that she knows the game and played the game well. The purple team is now up for elimination and both Stephanie and Patti begged the contestants to please send Patti home and allow Stephanie to stay as she would not be able to do this at home while Patti could succeed at home.

All the contestants were unanimous in their decision to respect Patti’s wishes and send her home, allowing Stephanie to stay aboard and continue her journey. To date Patti has lost 43 lbs thus far and she is still going, keeping up her workouts. After a quick check in from the doctor, Patti’s stats have improved greatly since being on the show.
Best of luck Patti, continuing your journey!

Be sure to tune in next Tuesday at 8 PM EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

The Biggest Loser: Student Teacher Week!

January 19, 2010 08:00:50 by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC the contestants endure one of their toughest challenges yet as Ali is full of surprises this week. While also having their first temptation in front of them, how will our contestants hold out? If you think you know who’s got the biggest weight loss, you may want to rethink that! Keep reading for all the details!

It’s student teacher week this week on The Biggest Loser on NBC as Ali informed the contestants that one person from each team will be nominated the teacher and one the student for their challenges and weigh in this week. This meant the teachers would be the only ones working out with Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper, but they would have to take this knowledge and teach it to their partners….easy enough right? Ah, but it gets better as the students will be the ones weighing in!

Next the contestants are given their first temptation on this season of The Biggest Loser as they stare chocolate candy in the face. Whoever gave in and ate a candy would have control over the choosing the teachers and the students. Shockingly, only two teams chose to eat a chocolate: Michael and Sherri. Michael refused to eat more than one however, giving Sherri and Ashley the power to choose who would be the teacher and who would be the student this week. They tried to be fair and not piss anyone off.

Immediately though you could tell that Migdalia was pissed off. Bob and Jillian picked up on it right away and tried to get her to open up but she wouldn’t. In the gym, Jillian pushed her and pushed her but she didn’t talk. In a last ditch effort to get Migdalia to open up, Jillian started to blast her and tell her how her daughter was going to end up just like her. Totally annoyed by this Migdalia walked off despite Jillian’s attempt to get her to stay on stating she was leaving. Jillian asked Miggy to talk to her. Miggy and Bob were able to talk some sense into her and while first said she was annoyed with Jillian as she thought she was insulting her parenting skills, later we learned that she was not happy with herself, but did not state why.

Next on The Biggest Loser the teachers are taken to learn about portion controls and calories. Most of them are shocked to learn how many calories some popular restaurant dishes have in them. Michael is completely stunned to learn that one dish from a restaurant is the equivalent to 8 dishes of a healthy meal he could be cooking at home, yikes!

After returning to share their new cooking knowledge with their team mates, the teams are given their challenge : the teachers must tangle huge spools of ribbon through a playground. Then they are told the students will draw straws to see which color ribbon they will have to untangle in the quickest time. After tangling all the ribbons, Ali surprised the contestants by letting them know that they will actually be untangling their own color ribbon that was tangled by their partners…..while blindfolded being led by their partner!

The Gray team of Koli and Sam were done first, giving them immunity and also allowing them to switch one team at weigh in time as to which one will actually weigh in. They decided to swap Michael and his mother because they felt Michael has not proven that he is serious and due to his high weight they felt he needed a reality check.

Now it’s weigh in time The Biggest Loser on NBC and here is how our contestants fared this week:

Green: Migdalia from 245 to 237 (-8) & Miggy from 219 to 212 (-7) for a total of 3.2% for Miggy (student)

Gray: Koli from 366 to 353 (-7) & Sam from 345 to 334 (-11) They had immunity

Orange: Cheryl from 210 to 203 (-7) & Daris from 310 to 301 (-9) for a total of 2.9 % for Daris (student)

Black: Andrea from 279 to 272 (-7) & Darrell from 373 to 361 (-12) for a total of 3.22% for Darrell (student)

Brown/Purple: John from 451 to 437 (-14) & Stephanie from 243 to 236 (-7)for a total of 3.1% for John (student)

Red: Lance from 336 to 324(-12) & Melissa from 215 to 214 (-1) for a total of 3.57% for Lance (student)

Pink: Ashley from 345 to 333 (-12) & Sherri from 196 to 190 (-6) for a total of 3.48% for Ashley (student)

White: Mike from 481 to 471 (-10) & Maria from 258 to 254 (-4) for a total of 2.08% for Michael (student)

During the weigh in on The Biggest Loser on NBC emotions were flying high as neither Bob nor Jillian were buying Melissa’s excuses for only losing one pound after a one pound gain last week. Melissa seemed extremely aggravated and they decided not to pursue the argument during the weigh in. Lance, despite his great weight loss, had nothing to say on his loss or Melissa’s. Uh Oh, could there be a troubled relationship for these two?

So, Michael and Maria were the bottom team tonight with the lowest weight loss on The Biggest Loser on NBC. Maria had me in tears as she was crying and begging them to please let her son stay as he needs the help more than she does. Michael pleads his case that he is so much pain from being so overweight, and Maria is scared they would be “sending him to his death” if they send her son home.

The voting was almost unanimous as Maria was voted off despite John and Stephanie voting for Michael. Maria felt like she was slapped in the face by them because when they were under the yellow line, she respected their wishes and voted for whom they asked. To this date, Maria is now down to 231 lbs and keeping up her weight loss and diet routine, kudos to her!!

Be sure to tune in next Tuesday at 8 PM EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

The Biggest Loser: Olympic Inspiration

February 9, 2010 08:18:07 by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC, the contestants along with Bob Harper & Jillian Michaels head to Colorado Springs, CO to the Olympic Training Facility. While they train and exercise with some of the United States’ best athletes, some contestants are having a hard time focusing after John’s emotional departure last week. Keep reading to find out which two, yes, two losers will be headed home this week!

The contestants headed to the Olympic training facility tonight on The Biggest Loser on NBC where they got to meet some of the best athletes in the United States. After getting some inspiration from five-time Paralympian Alison Jones and some expert nutrition advice from, it was straight to work for the losers. Ali started them off by letting them know that they would not be competing as teams this week, but as individuals. But that’s not all…..there would also be two contestants going home this week. The contestant with the lowest percentage of weight loss would be automatically eliminated, and then the two next lowest would fall below the yellow line for elimination voting.

Now the fun began as the contestants were greeted by Olympian hopeful and short track speedskater J.R. Celski who would show them exactly how to complete their pop challenge on The Biggest Loser on NBC. They would be sliding back and forth on a board, simulating a skater and would have to hit the edges of the board with their feet. For each stroke hit, would count as one and they needed to reach 500, and there would be 3 prizes given out this week in honor of the three medals in the Olympic games.

As Miggy, Darrell and Oneal could not participate due to medical issues, Koli and Sam struggled as they were feeling stressed from the departure of their dear friend, John. Koli admitted to Bob that he was depressed since he felt John should have been there instead of himself. Sam picked it up however was neck in neck with Melissa the entire time, but eventually Sam pulled through and was the first to complete the challenge. Melissa came in second, followed by Sunshine in third place.

Next it was time for the main challenge on The Biggest Loser on NBC as the contestants met Paralympic biathlete Kelly Underkofler. Kelly instructed them that they would have to complete a biathalon fitness challenge which consisted of firing shots at a target with the person getting five targets on their name being eliminated from the challenge. For winning the other challenge Sam, Melissa, and Sunshine got to take shots at other players. Melissa and Sunshine took their shots which totaled three at Sam. Sam fired back and gave Melissa two shots and Sunshine one shot. Ultimately the fitness challenge came down to Darrell and Oneal, in which Oneal was a second quicker than Darrell so he ended up winning immunity.

After their last chance workout with Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels and two-time U.S. figure skating national champion Rockne Brubaker, it was time for their weigh in. Here is how our contestants did this week in as singles:

Green: Miggy from 206 to 199 (-7) for a total of 3.4%

Gray: Koli from 335 to 326 (-9) for a total of % ; Sam from 310 to 298 (-12) for a total of 3.87%

Orange: Cheryl from 194 to 191 (-3) for a total of 1.55% ; Daris from 283 to 274 (-9) for a total of 3.18%

Black: Andrea from 262 to 255 (-7) for a total of 2.67% ; Darrell from 343 to 338 (-5) for a total of 1.46%

Purple: Stephanie from 225 to 221 (-4) for a total of 1.78%

Red: Lance from 314 to 305 (-9) for a total of 2.87% ; Melissa from 198 to 199 (+1) for a total of %

Pink: Ashley from 317 to 311 (-6) for a total of 1.89% ; Sherry from 180 to 177 (-3) for a total of 1.67%

White: Mike from 443 to 432 (-11) for a total of 2.48%

Yellow: Oneal from 333 to 325 (-8) (had immunity) & Sunshine from 245 to 239 (-6) for a total of 2.45%

This meant that Melissa fell below the red line on The Biggest Loser and would be sent home immediately. She claimed she did not understand her body, but I have to wonder since she knew the game so well as past weeks have proven if she intentionally did this to ensure her husband’s stay on the ranch. To date, Melissa is now down 50+ lbs and is currenly weighing in the mid 170’s. Great to know she is keeping up her exercise, fitness and weight loss as she has also taken up boxing. Way to go Melissa, we’ll see you at the finale!

Now we were also left with two contestants under the yellow line, Darrell and Cheryl. But instead of having a normal elimination vote off, things were changed a bit on The Biggest Loser on NBC as they would have to duel it out in a challenge, Olympic style to see whom would be sent home. They would both have to balance a huge & heavy Olympic torch on their heads, and whoever caved first would be sent home. After 6 minutes and both them still holding up their torches, we were advised that would not know who wins until the next episode. I hate when they leave us hanging, and even worse is that we must wait until after the Olympic Games to see the new episode.

Remember to tune in after the Olympics Games are over in 3 weeks for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

'Biggest Loser' Star - Big Fat Liar ... Allegedly

Based on the weight of the evidence "The Biggest Loser" star Jillian Michaels is pulling a dietary fast one on the American public for profit ... according to a new class action lawsuit.

According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control dietary supplement is "worthless."

The lawyer who filed the suit, Melissa Harnett, tells TMZ, "Telling people you take two magic pills and then eat chocolate cake all day is a deception."

The suit alleges, "Sadly, Michaels has decided to exploit her fame and goodwill by collaborating with Thin Care and Basic Research to promote a weight loss supplement that purportedly will cause weight loss by itself, without any additional effort on the part of the consumer."

The suit asks for an injunction prohibiting the sale of the product, plus damages.

UPDATE: Jillian has released the following statement:

"The Jillian Michaels line of weight control products is the #1 line of natural weight control products in the United States. Unfortunately, anyone can file a lawsuit in California. (Click through to see the rest)

All it takes is a $355 filing fee. Not only have placebo-controlled, double-blind, published clinical studies been conducted on the active calorie-control compound in Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control, but that research was reviewed by some of the leading weight-loss experts in the world before Jillian would put her name on the product.

The lawsuit will be handled in the courts like all other lawsuits, and we are confident we will prevail. In the meantime, thousands upon thousands of men and women around the United States are using Jillian's Maximum Strength Calorie Control.

To anyone questioning the product's effectiveness, we suggest you try it for yourself. Remember, no weight-control program or product works for everybody. That's why there's a 30 day 100% no-questions-asked money-back guarantee."

The Biggest Loser: History Is Made As Blue Versus Black Begins Tonight!

March 2, 2010 09:30:05 by Lisa Princ

After a two week break for the Olympics, Ali Sweeny & The Biggest Loser are back on NBC tonight with an all new episode. With power struggles beginning to brew and tensions filling the air, Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper are in for a surprise and a challenge of their own this week. So which two, yes two losers will be heading off the ranch this week? This is one episode you don’t want to miss as we also witnessed history being made on the show! Keep reading for all the fitness & drama filled details!

The Biggest Loser on NBC started off the evening with the continuation of last time: Darrell and Cheryl competing in their Olympic challenge to see who would remain on the ranch and who would be sent packing. After almost 10 minutes of holding their light torches on their heads, Darrell can no longer take the knee pain and buckles leaving Cheryl the winner of the challenge. Darrell is shown later in the episode on his journey since leaving The Biggest Loser ranch where he is currently weighing in at 293 lbs, for a total weight loss of 120 lbs. Way to go Darrell, who looks wonderful and he claims he will be around 200 lbs by the finale..I cannot wait to see if he proves true to that.

As The Biggest Loser contestants join Ali Sweeny, they are confused as they are greeted by cookies and a memory board. Ali quickly fills them in that this is a temptation challenge and asks that they raise hands if they plan on participating before she reveals the challenge. The only contestants who are willing to participate after seeing a mound of chocolate chip cookies are Michael and Andrea. They are then informed that this week the teams shift to blue versus black as they have seen in past seasons. The winner of the temptation challenge will be in charge of choosing teams and choosing one immune person, who would end up on the losing team after weigh in and elimination.

The memory board on The Biggest Loser on NBC was chock full of sweet, high calorie treats as well as 2 golden tickets. Whoever matched the two golden tickets first would win the challenge. But that wasn’t all……each time a match was made of treats, the other contestant would have to consume those treats and for each time they did not make a match, that contestant would have to eat a cookie. Andrea & Michael battled it out, each getting a few treat matches, but Michael pulled through and won the challenge as he found both golden tickets. That, however came with a huge price as he wound up consuming around 2300 calories of treats, and Andrea consumed around 1200..hopefully they could get in enough exercise so that this would not hurt them at the weigh in this week.

Michael, who was thrilled to have won the challenge, now had the responsibility of putting together the blue team, who would work out with Bob and the black team, who would work out with Jillian. After a few minutes of thinking it all over on The Biggest Loser on NBC, Michael decided to play into the game and lookout for himself only. He decided to put together what he thought would be a powerhouse team, the blue team and put the weaker players on the black team. The black team was made up of Andrea, Cheryl, Sherry, Ashley, Stephanie and Sam.

On the blue team he decided to put Sunshine, Lance, Miggy, Daris, and Koli. With only two left: himself and Oneal, Michael decided to play in even further as he gave Oneal immunity, so he could secure his own spot on what he deemed the stronger team. Needless to say many of the contestants were very upset by his decision as he split up teams and put some to workout with the fitness trainer they did not want only to benefit himself.

Now that the blue versus black was set up on The Biggest Loser on NBC, the teams had to prove they could work as teams as they were up for their next fitness challenge: pulling a colored flag up a few stories from the top of a building. Both teams struggled, and while it looked as the black team was out to prove themselves, they ultimately could not keep up with the blue team. The blue team ended up winning the fitness challenge which entitled them to letters from home as well the immunity to the team player with the highest percentage of weight loss this week. I have to say I am definitely pulling for the underdog, or the black team this week.

Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were both thrown for a loop tonight on The Biggest Loser with the blue versus black teams. Jillian Michaels who completely pissed by the disadvantage, vowed to work the black team the best she could so that the underdog would come out on top. Infuriated, she worked them extremely hard with both exercise and diet this week, giving them some healthy food options. Jillian Michaels went on to let everyone know how this brought out that fat girl she used to be and that pissed her off….I hope she can pull this one off.

So now it was time for the new teams to weigh in and this how their diet and exercise helped this week:

Oneal from 325 to 316 (-9) (had immunity for the 3rd week in a row and not on a team yet)

The Blue Team:

Miggy from 199 to 195 (-4)
Michael from 432 to 417 (-15) *this is a new biggest loser record
Lance from 305 to 300 (-5)
Daris from 274 to 267 (-7)
Koli from 326 to 316 (-10)

The Black Team

Andrea from 255 to 250 (-5)
Cheryl from 191 to 187 (-4)
Sherry from 177 to 171 (-6)
Same from 298 to 290 (-8)
Ashley from 311 to 301 (-10)

So as the blue versus black battle began, history has been made on The Biggest Loser on NBC as Michael has lost 109 lbs in 7 weeks, breaking the previous record of 100 lbs. Congratulations to Michael, what an inspiration!

This, however also has left the blue team, who thought they were the stronger of the two teams at the bottom of tonight’s battle. The blue team lost 48 lbs total for a percentage of 2.7%, while the black team lost a total of 41 lbs for a percentage of 2.82%. Way to go black team and Jillian Michaels, I knew you could do it!!

So now it was elimination time on The Biggest Loser on NBC after our blue versus black battle has ended. The blue team would have to vote on one player to be sent home. Michael, however could not be sent home since he had the highest percentage of weight loss on his team thus giving him immunity. As the votes came in, it was neck in neck between Lance and Miggy, but in the end, Miggy was the weakest link and would be sent home after Koli claimed that despite his low loss, Lance was a hard worker and player. Since the show, Miggy is down from 240 lbs to 179 lbs and still working hard, way to go Miggy!

Be sure to tune in next week at 8 pm EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

On a conference call, recently eliminated contestant Sherry Johnston told reporters, "They're just as sweet as they can be." The 51-year-old also admitted that early on in the competition she pulled Steph aside and said, "I don't want you to get into a relationship and lose focus of why you're really here... as your fill-in mom, I just want to make sure you keep your head on straight and do well in the Biggest Loser."

Johnston added, "Sam's a really sweet guy, he's really stepped up and when you see them together, you'll see it."

The Biggest Loser: Singles Again!

March 30, 2010 07:44:30 by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC, two eliminated losers will be coming back to the ranch for another chance to join the other contestants for a chance to become The Biggest Loser. With the teams shifting back to singles this week as well, how will the contestants fare? Keep reading for all the details!

The Biggest Loser on NBC kicks off this week by breaking the teams back into singles….yep, no more teams! But that is not the only surprise in store for the contestants this week as all of the eliminated losers are brought back for another chance at the joining in at the ranch. The twist is that they must be voted in! After each of the eliminated losers has a chance to plead their case, the contestants each get a chance to vote for whom they would like back.

The contestants each had a chance to place their votes as singles, and while it looked like John was a sure fire back in with 3 votes, Victoria caught up with 3 votes. As Michael was the last person to cast his vote, he broke the tie by voting for Victoria on The Biggest Loser on NBC. But, alas this was not the only twist for the evening. One more contestant would be allowed back in the house by winning a fitness challenge consisting of doing 1000 steps on a stair stepper. Miggy & Melissa were neck in neck in this one, but much to my dismay, Melissa won the challenge and would be joining Victoria and the others back in the house.

Singles week was not shy of drama either on The Biggest Loser on NBC as rumors were spreading that Stephanie had thrown the weigh in 2 weeks ago so that Sherry would be sent home. Frustrated, Ashley confided in Koli who stated very clearly that he did not trust Stephanie at all. When Ashley and Andrea questioned Stephanie about it, she denied throwing any weigh in’s. Stephanie was very distraught over this and had a nice heart to heart with Jillian about it all, who told her that she cannot try to control everything…wonder if it would affect her weight loss this week?

At the last chance workout as singles on The Biggest Loser on NBC Bob & Jillian worked all the contestants hard, even Victoria and Melissa even though they were given immunity this week. Bob was pleased to see that Victoria was making healthy food choices and had showed her how to properly portion meals so she could cook in bulk. Victoria had a tough time at the workout though, but if she keeps at it, I am sure she will do just fine…we shall see next week.

Let’s see how the contestants fared at this week’s weigh in:

Oneal from 295 to 291 (-4)

Michael from 389 to 381 (-8)

Daris from 244 to 237 (-7)

Koli from 287 to 281 (-6)

Sunshine from 208 to 202 (-6)

Melissa from 182 to 178 (-4)

Victoria from 285 to 283 (-2)

Andrea from 232 to 227 (-5)

Sam from 264 to 262 (-2)

Ashley from 276 to 271 (-5)

Stephanie from 199 to 198 (-1)

That meant that both Sam and Stephanie were in the bottom this week on The Biggest Loser on NBC. They both pleaded their cases and sat hand in hand at the table waiting for the results. Koli started by voting for Stephanie, followed by Melissa who voted for Sam. Then it was two more votes for Stephanie and if she got one more she was going home.

Ashley was up next to vote and with tears in her eyes, lifted her platter to reveal Stephanie’s name, meaning Stephanie was going home. Stephanie, however has lost 90 lbs to date and looked fantastic as she was dress shopping for her 30th birthday party. She also admitted to finding love, which we knew from a few weeks ago that she & Sam were a couple. Best of luck to Stephanie, who hopes to be a size 8 by the finale, can;t wait to see if she is!

BeforeThe Biggest Loser on NBC ended for the evening, we also got to meet Wayne, a 600+ lb man who was inspired by the show and decided to try and follow it at home. He succeeded as he lost over 400 lbs at home! Congrats to Wayne!

Be sure to tune in next week at 8 pm EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

Biggest Loser: Stephanie Opens Up About Her Romance With Sam

April 1, 2010 01:00:10 by Nancy Floyd

Stephanie Anderson found a lot more than a svelte figure as a contestant on NBC’s The Biggest Loser. She also found love. During her time on the ranch, she met and fell in love with her co-star (and competitor) Sam. This week, the new couple was put to the test when they both fell below the yellow line resulting in Stephanie’s elimination. Now, Steph opens up about how she found love with Sam and whether tensions have been resolved with his cousin, Koli…

Like every contestant on NBC’s The Biggest Loser, Stephanie Anderson joined the show in hopes of losing weight and getting her life back. Fortunately for her, she ended up falling in love in the process! She was barely on the ranch when things started developing with fellow competitor, Sam. “There was definitely a flirtation very early on and we became friends and started hanging out and working out….I always felt that he pushed me to be better. We just had fun together. It was about week three that….Sam and I were just talking and I was like, ‘I really like this guy but I don’t want to mess things up. We’re having so much fun as friends.’ Once I realized that I really genuinely liked him, I just decided to let my guard down,” Stephanie tells PEOPLE magazine.

Fans of NBC’s The Biggest Loser might be surprised to learn that a romance was developing between the pair since there was never any mention of it on the show. Stephanie’s not surprised that the producers decided not to show their blossoming relationship and she’s a bit relieved about it. “They don’t showcase a romance because that truly isn’t what this show is about. It’s about our efforts and about our transformations, and about our overcoming obstacles, so we were aware that they weren’t going to showcase Sam and I. Obviously in the beginning– as a woman who’s never been in love — I was happy that they weren’t going to show it because it’s very personal,” Stephanie says, before adding, “I’m happy now to share with everyone because I am genuinely and truly the happiest I’ve ever been.”

One of the biggest surprises came on Tuesday night’s episode of NBC’s The Biggest Loser when Sam’s cousin, Koli, badmouthed Stephanie to other contestants, including her close friends, Andrea and Ashley, which most likely led to her elimination. “The situation came to light just recently. Watching the show was one of the first times I saw what was happening behind the scenes with Koli and with the girls,” Stephanie says. Fortunately, the issue with the ladies has been resolved. “Ashley and Andrea have both called to reach out to me and apologize. They both have said they were wrong and that they were sorry and they’re genuine apologies,” Steph says. But as for the issue with Koli, she states, “it hasn’t been resolved. I’m definitely looking forward to a chance to have that resolved in the future.”

It looks like they most certainly will have the opportunity to resolve their issues in the future since Stephanie is still very much in love with his cousin, Sam. The couple’s relationship has grown stronger since Stephanie left the ranch. “When we get the chance to hang out, we love hiking — that became a passion of both of ours. I’ve found a new love for the outdoors. I like to be outside with Sam. We love spin class. We just like laughing. That sounds so cliché but I have a blast with Sam … He’s a genuinely great guy,” she says.

The Biggest Loser: Game On!

April 6, 2010 08:21:44 by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC it’s game on as pressure mounts in the house between players. With a crazy scale challenge against the clock and needing Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper’s extra help, will the house crumble and will one of the favorites be sent home? Keep reading for all the fitness filled details!

This week The Biggest Loser on NBC kicks off with one crazy challenge: weight loss & access to the scale. Each player has to lose 2% of their body weight and the player that accumulated that weight loss the quickest would get immunity at elimination. That’s not all though, they can weigh in whenever they like, but they have to be careful as once they have weighed in, it’s over for them. Once someone reaches their 2%, the game is over for all the other contestants.

Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper of course caught wind of this and immediately got the contestants exercising their behinds off on The Biggest Loser on NBC. After only 2 days, but some tough fitness routines, Vicky was the first one to brave the scale, but she only lost half of what she needed to in order to gain immunity. It was definitely game on for the rest of the house however as no one wanted to see Melissa win immunity. Sam & Koli worked out alot and decided that they would beat Melissa to the scale so that one of them could win it. Sam got on the scale first thing the next morning, and won the game and immunity as he wound up losing 10 lbs in 3 days even though he only needed to lose 6.

Up next for the contestants of The Biggest Loser on NBC was a fitness challenge, where once again it was game on as everyone wanted to beat Melissa. They players had to swim back and forth carrying weights back to a bin. Each player could only carry 2 weights at a time, and the first one to get to 100 would be the winner and win a trip for two to The Biggest Loser resort. The person in last place would be getting a one lb disadvantage at the weigh in this week.

Once they finished getting their weights on The Biggest Loser on NBC, they were also free to help any other contestants they wanted to.Sunshine and Sam were neck in neck on this challenge, but Sunshine who is also a swimmer came out the winner. She then went on to help her dad, who was in last place along with Michael and Melissa. It quickly became game on for the rest of the house and was no shock that all the finished players helped Oneal, and immediately went over to help Michael, which pushed Melissa in to last place and giving her the one pound extra at the weigh in.

Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were busy as well this week, not only with helping the contestants work out, but also helping them in other areas. Bob Harper took Vicky aside and gave her some nutrition information and tips on healthy eating. Jillian Michaels had a heart to heart with Sunshine about how she needed to gain some independency from her dad. Then it was back to last chance exercise workouts for the contestants with Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper .

Let’s see how the contestants fared this week as they all had their game on:

Oneal from 291 to 283 (-5)

Michael from 381 to 372 (-9)

Daris from 237 to 233 (-4)

Koli from 281 to 276 (-5)

Sunshine from 202 to 195 (-7)

Melissa from 178 to 175 (-3) *plus the one lb disadvantage put her at a loss of 2.

Victoria from 283 to 272 (-11)

Andrea from 227 to 225 (-2)

Sam from 262 to 252 (-10) * had immunity

Ashley from 271 to 264 (-7)

This meant that both Andrea and Melissa were up for elimination on The Biggest Loser on NBC. When they returned to the house, Andrea asked Melissa to leave so she could chat with the others alone. Andrea told them how much she had grown and still needed to be here and that she knew she was strong enough to win. Melissa tried to once again play the game with everyone by telling them she was not a threat and they could use her to eliminate others one by one.

Melissa obviously learned nothing about the contestants during her stay at the ranch, because if she had she would have known they were not about playing the game. Unfortunately for Melissa it was game on for the house as they all saw through her and she was voted out hands down. This is one time I can honestly say that I was not sorry to see someone leave. I am sure if she sticks to her fitness routine, she will do fine on her own with Lance’s support, but she did not need to be in that house playing games!

Be sure to tune in next week at 8 pm EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

Who are you rooting for?

The Biggest Loser: Surprise, Surprise

April 13, 2010 08:01:01 by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC, the contestants get financially fit as they are paid a visit by Suze Orman as well as an inspirational surprise guest! And speaking of surprises, Ali Sweeny has a few big ones for the losers this week. But wait until you see the surprise that the contestants have in store for Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper…you don’t want to miss this, so keep reading for all the fitness filled details!

This week’s The Biggest Loser on NBC starts off with a surprise pop challenge by Ali Sweeny. In the pop challenge, the contestants must balance quarters on a weight and hold it up with one hand for as long as possible. They may keep adding quarters, as Ali tells them that for every quarter the winner has left, they will get $10….that could add up to alot of money! However, if even a single quarter falls off the weight, that person is done for the challenge.

The challenge starts off with everyone neck in neck, but Daris, who has an issue with his hand being unsteady decides to bow out gracefully and lets his quarters hit the floor. One by one they start to drop, until it there are only 2 left: Sunshine and Michael. Sunshine drops a quarter as she is trying to push them to the center, leaving Michael as the last person standing and the winner of the challenge. But in yet another surprise, Ali Sweeny informs both of them that the amount of quarters on their weights will be double the $10 she originally promised, giving Sunshine a total of $600 and Michael a total of $2000.

Up next on the The Biggest Loser on NBC, the contestants get a visit from Suze Orman, financial expert. Suze makes her prediction for the season 9 winner to be Sunshine. Hey, she was correct with Danny Cahill, so we shall see if she is this time around. And speaking of Danny Cahill, he also pays the losers a surprise visit tonight, sharing his healthy eating tips such as the importance of calorie counting, and even spends time in the gym working out with them…..imagine Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper’s surprise to see him!

Now it was time for their fitness challenge on The Biggest Loser on NBC and once again Ali Sweeny has not one, but two huge surprises in store. This week there is no prize of immunity, but the prizes are two brand new cars! The fitness challenge is that the contestants have to climb a hill, in the pouring rain and pick keys off of balloons one by one and try to use those keys to start the cars. It is a grueling fitness challenge for these guys, but Andrea managed to find the first key, so it was well worth it to her. With about 40 keys left, ONeal hits the jackpot with the second key, although he immediately screams to Sunshine to come get her new car, what a sweetheart he is!

Back to business on The Biggest Loser on NBC, or at least that is what Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper think until the contestants drag the two of them out into the mud, what a hilarious sight….Jillian Michaels was pissed and vowed to get revenge. After a brief heart to heart with Vicky over her weight loss struggle, Jillian Michaels proved that revenge is sweet in their last chance workout as she stepped on them and used her weight in any way possible!

Now let’s see how our contestants fared in this week filled with surprises:

ONeal from 283 to 278 (-5)

Michael from 372 to 363 (-9)

Daris from 233 to 226 (-7)

Koli from 276 to 270 (-6)

Sunshine from 195 to 192 (-3)

Vicky from 272 to 267 (-5)

Andrea from 225 to 222 (-3)

Sam from 252 to 252 (-0)

Ashley from 264 to 258 (-6)

It was an emotional ride for both ONeal and Sunshine as they were below the line for most of the weigh in, until Andrea and Sam bumped them above the line. Now the remaining house members had to choose which one of their beloved friends would be going home this week. I thought for sure it would be Sam despite the fact that I personally did not want to see him go, I believe he needed less help than Andrea at this point.

The house however, chose to keep Sam, even though he had no weight loss this week, Andrea lost the vote four to one. We will definitely miss Andrea, who has updated us that she is doing well at home, teaching spin classes and hoping to be a fitness instructor one day. We can’t wait to see you at the finale Andrea!

Be sure to tune in next week at 8 pm EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

The Biggest Loser: Choices

April 20, 2010 07:46:32 by Lisa Princ

Tonight, it’s all about choices on The Biggest Loser on NBC as the contestants are put to their toughest temptation challenge to date. One contestant is struck with personal tragedy and another contestant makes a daring choice…but will it backfire in his face? Keep reading for all the healthy details!

Ali Sweeney greets the contestants tonight on The Biggest Loser on NBC with a very tough temptation challenge. For the entire day, the contestants will not be eating their meals in the kitchen, instead they will be be making choices from a room full of food, some healthy and some not so healthy. Of course, like any challenge you didn’t think this would take place without a catch, now did you? The catch is that the person who consumed the most calories for the day would have the only vote at elimination this week. However, if that person happened to fall below the yellow line, that would be null and void leaving elimination to carry on as normal.

So who would be eating until their heart’s content tonight on The Biggest Loser on NBC? Certainly not whom I expected to play the game! I have to say I was extremely proud of Michael for not falling for this temptation….although I think he may have tricked a few contestants into thinking he did. Koli however decided to play the game this week. He ate and ate and ate until he almost made himself sick and ending up with over 4,000 calories for the day. His motivation? If he had the only vote and Sam fell below the yellow line, he could save his cousin. He wound up winning the challenge and ended up with the only vote in elimination…that is if he did not fall below the yellow line himself.

Koli made sure he got extra workouts in to help him rid himself of all the calories he had consumed. Next it was time for their fitness challenge on The Biggest Loser on NBC, which consisted of stacking up blocks which would take the contestants to a ladder that they would need to climb in order to grab a flag at the top. The winner of this challenge would get a one pound advantage at the weigh in, while the last place contestant would get a one pound disadvantage. Daris had a first tonight by winning this challenge which is something he had never done on the show. ONeal ended up falling off and landing on his knee, resulting in a medic trip and the one pound disadvantage at the weigh in.

Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were not the least bit happy with Koli’s poor choices this week and they worked his buns into the ground as punishment. Jillian Michaels made it perfectly clear that saving someone who no longer needed to be there was ridiculous. Of course, once Sam and Koli got wind of ONeal’s extra pound, they both shifted into overdrive to save ONeal instead. ONeal had alot of choices to make this week as well, as he was injured and then learned that his older brother had passed away. Would ONeal be able to focus and keep going or give up? With Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper’s determination, ONeal kept going and worked harder than ever in honor of his brother.

Now it was weigh in time so let’s see how our contestants fared this week after their mostly smart choices:

ONeal from 278 to 270 (-8)

Michael from 363 to 358 (-5)

Daris from 226 to 219 (-7) *also had one pound advantage

Koli from 270 to 260 (-10)

Sunshine from 192 to 191 (-1)

Vicky from 267 to 266 (-1)

Sam from 252 to 246 (-6)

Ashley from 258 to 254 (-4)

This meant that both Sunshine and Vicky would be up for elimination this week and since he was above the yellow line, it was up to Koli alone to make that choice. An hour later, the three returned to the elimination room and Koli decided that it was time for Vicky to head home since she was not working as hard as she should be he thought. So for all the Sunshine and ONeal fans, this story ended on a happy note this week as they will both remain on the ranch.

As for Vicky, she is back at home working out with her mom and has lost 118 lbs to date. She has something to prove now to Koli and she plans on showing him just how hard she can work!

Be sure to tune in next week at 8 pm EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC. See you after the show!

The Biggest Loser: Contestants Inspire Texas

April 27, 2010 07:43:56 by Lisa Princ

The contestants head to Texas tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC, to help inspire one of America’s heaviest states in terms of weight. But while they are busy inspiring others, they will get a taste of what life will be like after the ranch, on their own. Will their inspiring trip away from the ranch help them or hurt them though at this week’s weigh in? Keep reading for all the healthy details and a sad sendoff this week!

Ali Sweeney kicks off The Biggest Loser on NBC tonight by letting the contestants know that they will be heading to Texas this week to help get the people there inspired and moving, since Texas is one of America’s heaviest places….I mean, they do say everything is bigger in Texas, don’t they? The contestants will be rallying at local radio stations, completing a 5k with groups of people, and they will have their fitness challenge while there. They will not, however have their regular schedule and gym access with Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper, but no worries they would be joining them for their last chance workout.

The contestants of The Biggest Loser on NBC really inspired the people of Texas while completing their 5k with them. Daris completed his 5k in the fastest time he had ever done before, while ONeal really inspired one young woman who was determined to overcome her health issues which related to her obesity. Koli was out to prove he isn’t such a bad guy afterall, despite what Vicky thinks by going back after finishing to help a woman who was on his team complete her first ever 5k.

After their 5k on The Biggest Loser on NBC, the contestants had to compete in cow wrangling for their fitness challenge. Whoever managed to wrangle the most cows would win immunity. Koli, with the help of Sam who wanted to repay the favor from last week was tied in first with Daris and ONeal. Daris, had Michael helping him since Michael, Ashley & Daris bonded this week since they had no “teams”. Sunshine was desperately trying to help ONeal, but in the end, Koli had the most wrangled cows and wound up winning immunity this week.

You didn’t think you would miss out on Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper now did you? Bob Harper was at the local fitness center working with groups of people to help get them moving…one woman even wanted to take Bob home with her! On the other side of town, Jillian Michaels was busy inspiring hundreds of school kids who are trying to become healthy at the call of a former The Biggest Loser contestant. After their time away from the contestants, Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper came back with a vengeance giving the contestants one of their hardest exercise workouts ever!

Now it was weigh in time so let’s see how our contestants fared this week after their inspirational trip away from the ranch:

ONeal from 270 to 265 (-5)

Michael from 358 to 343 (-15)

Daris from 219 to 214 (-5)

Koli from 260 to 259 (-1) * had immunity this week

Sunshine from 191 to 187 (-4)

Sam from 246 to 240 (-6)

Ashley from 254 to 248 (-6)

Koli sure lucked out by having immunity this week on The Biggest Loser on NBC, because if he didn’t he would have been up for elimination. This also meant that our beloved father & daughter team were about to be split up since they both fell into the bottom. ONeal pleaded with the contestants to vote for him and not send Sunshine home as he felt he could do it at home. All the contestants respected his wishes as his name was revealed one by one at the elimination table. This was probably the saddest elimination to date, everyone at the table was in tears.

ONeal, while sad, was overjoyed upon returning home. He demonstrated how easily he could get his own shoes on now and how easily his wife could wrap her arms around him again, too sweet! To date, ONeal has lost nearly 140 lbs and continues his new healthy lifestyle and fitness routine! Can’t wait to see you at the finale ONeal!

The Biggest Loser: Makeover Week!

May 4, 2010 07:45:59 by Lisa Princ

Tonight on The Biggest Loser on NBC, it’s the most exciting week of the season, makeover week! But will their makeovers and shopping sprees deter the contestants from reaching their weight loss goals this week? Find out who gets eliminated this week as we inch closer to the final four!

The remaining six contestants on The Biggest Loser on NBC, are headed for makeover week this week. It’s amazing to see their transformations from when they first showed up at the ranch. This week, both Michael and Daris get their locks chopped off by Jonathan Anton, from Shear Genius. After their makeovers, the contestants are thrilled to be surprised by Ali Sweeney with some of their family members. The family members and the contestants then head over to a special concert that Ali had set up just for them featuring Ashanti.

But after all the fun was over, it was back to business for the contestants of The Biggest Loser on NBC as it was time for their fitness challenge. Jaws started to drop as they walked out to the pool and saw the good ole Jacob’s ladders hanging above the pool. The challenge this week was stay on the ladder as long as possible, with the person remaining the longest gaining a one pound advantage at the weigh in and a one pound disadvantage to the first person to fall off the ladder. Easy enough, right?

It was easy for some of the contestants and not so easy for others. Ashley was the first contestant to fall off the ladder, followed by Michael, who I think just gave up and then Sunshine, Sam until it was only Koli and Daris left. Koli and Daris fought it out on the ladder for 2 and a half hours, when finally Daris gave up and fell off. This did not go over well with Bob Harper who immediately went after Daris upon hearing this to find out why he was having a mental breakdown. After a little time and tough love, Bob Harper was able to get Daris back into full swing to finish his last chance workout with Jillian Michaels and himself.

Now it was weigh in time so let’s see how our contestants fared during this makeover week:

Michael from 343 to 334 (-9)

Daris from 214 to 205 (-9)

Koli from 259 to 244 (-16) *really 15 but he had a one pound advantage

Sunshine from 187 to 178 (-9)

Sam from 240 to 238 (-2)

Ashley from 248 to 238 (-9 ) *really 10 but she had a one pound disadvantage

This meant that the two contestants below the yellow line this week on The Biggest Loser on NBC were both Sam and Michael. Sam told the others that he wanted to stay, while Michael pleaded with the them that he needed to stay. It was a tough decision for the contestants, but no contest in my mind as to whom should be there, my obvious choice would be Michael. They however, were split on the decision and I have to say I knew that Koli would vote for Michael, but I was not expecting Sunshine to vote for Michael also. Ashley and Daris both voted for Sam, leaving the tie breaker up to the weight loss percentage, which Sam lost hands down with only 2 pounds lost.

So it was time to bid farewell for Sam, but it was not sad at all. Sam had already reached his weight loss goal, at the ranch which is a huge feat that no other contestant has ever accomplished before! Sam continues to maintain his healthy lifestyle, and is currently helping his live in girlfriend and former contestant, Stephanie get to her goal weight. I am so happy for both them, what a great ending!

The Biggest Loser: The Final Four Revealed!

May 11, 2010 07:37:36 by Lisa Princ

The final four are revealed tonight on The Biggest Loser on NBC. As the contestants work their way closer to the final four, someone will crack under the pressure. We’ll see special guests visit and take some trips down memory lane, but the contestants will also get hit with a shocking change of plans. Will all the distractions keep the losers weighed down or will we see some huge losses and The Biggest Loser history tonight? You’ll have to keep reading for all the details!

Just as some of the contestants of The Biggest Loser on NBC are starting to see the weights shift in their favor after Sam’s departure, Ali shocks them by telling them there will be no yellow line or elimination vote this week. Instead there will be a single red line, and the loser who falls below that line will be automatically eliminated. Nothing like a little motivation, huh? And if that was not motivation enough, the contestants were also visited by former contestants: Helen, season seven winner, and Erik, season three winner who gained most of his weight back but is once again in the process of losing it.

Of course the contestants were also put to a fitness challenge on their journey to the final four on The Biggest Loser on NBC. This week in their “put it back on” fitness challenge, the contestants had to drag around bags of weight over 16 hills, dropping a weight at each hill equal to the amount of weigh they had lost that week. The winner would get $10k. Daris flew past everyone and won the challenge, then went back to help Michael and Ashley who were struggling. When asked by Ali if he wanted the $10k or if he would rather buy a one pound advantage at the weigh in, Daris opted for the one pound advantage.

Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper took the contestants for a trip down memory lane, and then Bob Harper took them out shopping where they met with Tony Romo and went for hike with him. During their workout though, Michael had reached his breaking point and started screaming and ran out of the gym. Bob Harper went after him and found out that he was upset that he was still going to be overweight when he left the ranch. Bob Harper calmed him down and reminded him about all his accomplishments and how great he looked. Michael went back to finish his workout and got even better news when he visited the doctor, who told him how great his health numbers are now.

Finally, it was time for the weigh in on The Biggest Loser on NBC to see who would be our final four. Here is how the losers fared this week:

Michael from 334 to 322 (-12) *made history by hitting 200+ lbs this week before the finale

Daris from 205 to 195 (-10) *had one pound advantage as well

Koli from 244 to 231 (-13)

Sunshine from 178 to 176 (-2)

Ashley from 238 to 231 (-7 ) *made history by being the first woman to lose 140 lbs on the show

This means that our final four on The Biggest Loser on NBC are: Ashley, Koli, Michael, and Daris. That also meant that Sunshine was heading home this week. Sunshine looks fabulous though and to date has lost 113 lbs. Congratulations to our final four!

Be sure to tune in next week at 8 pm EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC as America will get to have their say as well. See you after the show!
