Though Braden has been in my bottom 3 since pre season, I feel the reasons Russell had for wanting Braden nom'd was Russells fears that Braden's popularity with the other hg's made him a liability.... They want Jeff gone because he's more friendly with everyone else than them (wow, big surprise). They want Braden and Casey gone because they make everyone else laugh, they want Laura gone because she talks to every single person in the house. Do they just feel threatened by his looks? Maybe he takes away the muscleheads camera time and ability to mack on the ladies? He's no threat game wise. Russell and Jesse think this is a good way to get to Jeff. It's stupid in every aspect. It's purely personal and not really based on (I hate this phrase), "Smart Game Play". He said something stupid, but if that's what it takes to get everyone to notice Kevin instead of forget about him and let him float, I say it's in the spirit of the game. People need to remember this game is designed to be ugly. Braden's comment was a juvenile insult, not racism like Michelle's Jews rant. Like how people that are not homophobic use gay slurs to get under the skin of overly-macho people, like the confrontation with Jeff and Russell. I have a father-in-law from Oklahoma who drops the N bomb and also doesn't think it's a racial slur. So I guess you are correct in that. However, "beaner" is a racial slur.
