W&B's actions are seen by most as great "game play". I agree. But the thing that got me thinking is if Janelle and Erika were the ones "playing" Will and Boogie we would be calling them whores. Listen, I'm the first to admit that I would be!! And I'm a girl!! For instance I called Erika nasty and whorish when she started doing more drastic things with Mike so that he would vote to keep her and etc. She was doing the same thing he has been doing this entire game, but we don't see her gameplay as great, most people just thought she was a tramp. Same thing with Allison a few years ago when she "seduced" Nathan into using the POV on her. People called her a slut!! In BB5 Drew wasn't seen as a slut for using Diane to get to the final 2!! My Question.... Why do we have double standards in this game in regards to women and men using flirting and/or sexual manipulation to get further in the game? Or is this just me? Tarman12 Posted September 4, 2006 Share Posted September 4, 2006 I guess it all depends on where the boundaries in the relationship are. If I recall, Allison didn't really have any boundaries. Erika and Mike go pretty far , but at least they have a boundary. From what I see, Will and Janelle boudaries are pretty tight. No kissing, no petting, just a lot of touching and flirting. And Diane and Drews' boundaries were even tighter, I think. Of the 4 women, the only woman that did anything that gave me pause was Alison. Erika makes me raise my eyebrows, though. I'd never call a woman a slut, even if she was one. But of those four women, if I was that type of guy, Alison would be the one who would most deserve the lable. But I guess all of us have different boundaries. To me, she was the only one who actually used her body for the purpose of advancing herself in the game. I know Erika is "kinda" using hers, but I think it's just because she's a kind of a horndog, not to advance herself, although some would disagree. As for the guys, it's just assumed that ALL of us are horndogs. And people who make that assumption are absolutely correct. So it's kind of overkill to call us male sluts. For her part I think that Janelle is playing Will just as much as she is playing him. But some just can't bring themselves to stop calling her a 'whore.' THAT is the core of the problem. Men either don't want to accept this truth or they want to punish women for it.
