Dancing With The Stars ~ U.S. Season 22 Episode 3

Tonight is Dancing With The Stars Most Memorable Year episode. We start out tonight seeing video clips from some of the dancers. Tom welcomes us to the ballroom, & says to get ready for some memories. Erin & Tom welcome the couples to the ballroom.

 

Tom & Erin talk about tonight's competition. Tom says, unfortunately, another couple will be eliminated at the end of tonight's competition. We see highlights & practice sessions from this week for Ginger & Val. Her most memorable year was in 2014, the year when she got engaged.

 

Ginger & Val are dancing a Contemporary dance to Home by Phillip Phillips. The audience loves them. Tom says, it's a great way to start the night. They hug family members in the audience. Len says, dance is a marriage between movement & music. He tells them they really pulled that off, although he would have liked a little bit more fluidity. He says, it was a great start to the show tonight. Bruno says, she did well. He says, it was very well pitched & play. He says, it had a very emotional story throughout. He says, every little frame was absolutely believable. He says, she just needs to extend the reach of the movement. Carrie Ann says, it's such a beautiful gift to give her child & them. She says, it was effervescent. Tom says, they will get their scores after the break, live.

 

Erin welcomes us back to the ballroom. Ginger & Val are in the sky box with Erin. Erin asks Ginger how it is to have her hubby & baby there with her? She says, it's amazing, & she has Val. Her hubby & Baby go up to the sky box to see them. Ginger holds her baby because he's crying. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 7, Len - 7, Bruno - 7, for a total of 21. Erin says, everyone needs to get there votes in. Tom says, in 21 seasons that's not the first cry baby they've had on the show, they are usually bigger.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for Doug & Karina. His most memorable year was 2015, when his father passed away, & his mom passed away on the same day. They are dancing a Waltz to Rainbow Connection by Kermit. The audience cheers along with them, as the song is being sung live in the ballroom. The audience cheers for them when they are finished. Tom says, it was a beautiful dance. Bruno tells Doug that his parents are really really proud of him. He tells him that he did very very well with the Waltz, which is very hard to do. He says, it's very hard to criticize him. He tells Doug that his fluidity stopped for a moment, but he did extremely extremely well. Carrie Ann is wiping her tears. She says, it's hard to go on, & it's only just beginning. She tells Doug he caressed her heart, & shown brightly in that routine. She tells them both it was well done. Len says, it was a little unstable a couple times, but it came together for two people to dance as one, & it was really well done. They go to the sky box for their scores.

 

Erin tells them it was well done. Karina is kissing everyone. Erin tells Doug to put it into words. He can't because he's crying so much. He says, he was trying to do it for his parents. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 7, Len - 6, Bruno - 7, for a total of 20. Erin says, if the viewers want their favorites to continue, they need to vote. Tom says, there is more to come, live.

 

We see a little behind the scenes during the commercials. We come back to the ballroom with Tom in the balcony. We see highlights & practices sessions from this week for Kim & Sasha. Her most memorable year is from her time starring on the Mrs. Butterworth commercial, & when she was on The Facts Of Life. They are dancing the Foxtrot to the Facts Of Life Theme Song. The audience erupts for them when they are finished. Tom says, he loves the set. Some of Kim's co-stars from The Facts Of Life are in the audience.

 

Carrie Ann tells Kim that she looks exactly the same as she did on the show. She says, they dance together like Wonder Twins, & that's very hard to do. She tells them they are the A-Team. Kim thanks her. Len says, he likes that they came out a little like maple syrup. He says, it was smooth & tasty. Kim is jumping up & down, & is excited. Bruno says, is jumping up & down in his seat. He says, she got the fun of it all. He says, she had a lot of Foxtrot content in there. He tells her she needs to work on her shoulders. He says, she turned into a turtle half way through. He tells her to be a diva. They go to the Red Room for their scores. Tom says, Switch Up is back. He wants everyone to go to ABC.COM to get votes in for the switches they want to happen.

 

Erin tells Kim that it's not fair that she looks the same as she did on The Facts Of Life. They show a video of Charlotte Rae talking about Kim being full of piss & vinegar, in a joking manner. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 8, Len - 7, Bruno - 7, for a total of 22. Erin asks Kim how Tootie would feel about the scores? Kim says, she would be happy. Erin tells the viewers they need to get their votes in. Tom says, there will be more to come, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with professional dancers dancing in the ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions from this week for Von & Witney. His most memorable year is from his first year when he started football. They are dancing a Contemporary dance to In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins. The audience Cheers for them as they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished. Witney jumps up & down for him. He gets a standing ovation from the audience. Tom asks Von why he listened to Phil Collins before every game? He says, his coach put him onto that song. Len says, he comes out & gives it 100%. He says, there's something charming about seeing a big guy be graceful. He says it was well done. Bruno tells him he won the Super Bowl, & now he won the Super Hunk of 2016. He says, it was hard to watch the dancing. He says, he's huge, but he needs to work on his turns to keep the balance, so he doesn't go off kilter. Carrie Ann says, she watched him play at the Super Bowl, & he was a dominating beast. She says, he was relaxed, & she doesn't feel like he's giving them 100%. The audience boos. Carrie Ann says, she wants to see him at a higher level. She says, it was very nice & pleasant, but she wants more from him. Tom says, we will get their scores when we come back, live.

 

Erin welcomes us back from the sky box with Von & Witney. Witney says, Von is a funny guy. Erin says, she can't imagine a big man trying to dance like that. Von says, he kept coming back to Napoleon Dynamite. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 7, Len - 6, Bruno - 7, for a total of 20. Tom laughs, and says he can't believe Von's inspirations were Phil Collins & Napoleon Dynamite. He says, whatever works.

 

We see highlights & practices sessions from this week for Marla & Tony. Her most memorable year is from 1993, when she gave birth to her daughter, Tiffany Trump. They are dancing the Jive to Happy by Pharrell Williams. The audience is cheering for them while they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, that was fun. He says, everything is where it should be. Bruno says, Marla turned out to be a light, bright & zesty canary. He says, it was a proper Jive all the way through. He tells her not to go flat footed. Carrie Ann says, sometimes what Bruno says, it so gross. She tells Marla she has so much energy, & did a great job. Len says, he's happy. Tony jumps on the judge's table, & gives Len a kiss on his cheek. Marla & Tony go to the Red Room for their scores. Tony says, the dance really kicked his butt. Marla tells Erin she was happy to get it over, because they work so hard. She says, it was so important because her daughter is watching, & she just wanted to give her best. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 7, Len - 7, Bruno - 7, for a total of 21. Erin says, there will be an elimination, so she tells the viewers to get their votes in. Tom says, we will return with more dancing, live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions from this week for Antonio & Sharna. His most memorable year is from 2003, when he was a Freshman at Century Michigan & his son was born at the same time. They are dancing the Foxtrot to 7 Years by Lukas Graham. The audience cheers for them while they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, there was a scene stealer, his son, Antonio JR. Carrie Ann says, that was so cute. She holds a 10 paddle for Antonio Jr. She tells Antonio it was all put together, & he just needs to watch his hand a little bit. She says, there was refinement & it was great. Len says, he didn't see refinement. He says, he did a good performance, but he wants it more refined. He says, Antonio Jr was great. Bruno says, it was great with Antonio Jr. He tells Antonio he just needs to be careful not to skip. They skip to the sky box for their scores.

 

Erin says, his daughter is there also. She asks Antonio Jr how great it was to dance with his dad? He says, "Cool man!" Sharna says, it was great all week to work with his great family. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 7, Len - 6, Bruno - 7, for a total of 20. Erin asks Antonio Jr what he has to say to Len about that score? He says, "Unbooming, Yo!" Len turns red & laughs. Tom says, next Monday is an all new Disney Night Event. We will come back after the break, live.

 

For a brief moment we see behind the scenes of Dancing With The Stars during the commercial break. Tom welcomes us back to the ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions from this week for Paige & Mark. Her most memorable year is from 2014, when she had her first UFC Fight. They are dancing the Paso Doble to 300 Violin Orchestra by Jorge Quintero. The audience cheers along with them while they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Tom tells Paige & Mark they did a great job. The audience can't stop applauding. Len says, if it was a Contemporary they would get a higher mark from him. He says, it was a wonderful performance, but didn't look like a Paso Doble. Bruno says, he felt like he was watching Wonder Woman. He says, Mark may have a winner on his hands. He says, he loved it. Carrie Ann says, that was bad ass. She says, she totally disagrees with Len. Len won't let her talk. She says, they need innovative ways to do these dances to keep the show moving on. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 8, Len - 7, Bruno - 8, for a total of 23. Tom says, the viewers need to get their votes in.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions from this week for Jodie & Keo. Her most memorable year is from the past year of getting back into things with Fuller House. Tom says, we will see them dance when we return, live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the ballroom. Jodie & Keo are dancing the Foxtrot to Rise Up by Andra Day, whom is singing live in the ballroom. The audience cheers for them while they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished dancing.

 

Bruno says, Andra Day's vocals were absolutely stunning. He says, Jodie & Keo have their best performance to date. Carrie Ann says, no offense, that performance came from her. He says, it was the best performance of the night. She thanks her for sharing her story, & turning into something so gorgeous. Len says, it was an emotional story, & she portrayed that in the dance. He says, overall she did a great job. He says, well done to both of them. They go to the Red Room for their scores.

 

Erin tells Jodie she loves her smile. She says, she will get emotional, because she is happy she shared her story with them. Jodie says, it was incredible doing that on the show. She says, she has shared her story before, but this was great. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 8, Len - 7, Bruno - 8, for a total of 23. Erin says, they are tied with Paige & Mark for the highest score of the night. Erin tells the viewers to get their votes in. Tom says, there will be more dancing to come. He says, they are live, & they are coming right back.

 

Tom tells Mischa it looks like she was having more fun this time. She says, she was having a blast. Carrie Ann says, the show is having a profound effect on her. She says, it's a tool to grow. She tells Mischa she had a break through, & needs to get a little more musicality about her. Len says, it was more fun, & it was her best dance for him so far. She thanks him. Bruno says, she needs her own crowd to get it out there. He says, timing isn't her best suite right now, but she can grow from that. He says, her positive attitude is great. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 6, Len - 6, Bruno - 6, for a total of 18. Tom says, a happy couple with 18 out of 30. He tells viewers to get their votes in. He says, there are most memorable dances to be performed, & then another couple will be sent home, live.

 

We come back to Dancing With The Stars with the judges at their table. Tom welcomes us back. We see highlights & practice sessions from this week for Wanya & Lindsay. His most memorable year was from 1996, when Boyz II Men sang the National Anthem at the closing of the Olympic Games. They are dancing a Waltz to the Star Spangled Banner by Boyz II Men. The audience cheers for them while they are dancing, & they erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, it was beautiful. The audience keeps clapping for them. Len says, he thinks he lost his posture on occasion. The audience boos. Len says, having said that, he has such lovely fluid movement. He says, it's like ice cream on hot apple pie. He says, he's a fan of his dancing, & tells him to keep it up. Bruno says, it was grand. He tells him to keep it up, & it was a stellar performance. He tells Wanya to keep his refinement. Carrie Ann says, the musicality flowed through him, & he was the rockets red glare. They go to the sky box for their scores.

 

Erin says, she feels that red needs a happy pill tonight. She tells Wanya & Lindsay they did a great job. She wants to get on their marks before they get yelled at. Erin tells Lindsay she did a great job with the choreography. Lindsay thanks her. Wanya says, he just wanted to get it all right. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 8, Len - 8, Bruno - 8, for a total of 24. Erin says, it's the highest score of the night. Erin says, she was joking about Len needing a happy pill, & obviously he took it. Tom says, Len found his 8 paddle.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions from this week for Nyle & Peta. His most memorable year was in 2012, when he traveled the world. He says, he needed to get away to understand himself & get away, since his entire family is deaf. He says, he traveled without an interrupter. Tom says, Nyle & Peta Tango when we come back, & then it's the second elimination of the season, when we come back, live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to tonight's Dancing With The Stars. Nyle & Peta are dancing the Tango to Verge by Owl City. The audience cheers for them while they are dancing. They get a standing ovation while waving flashlights in the air. They erupt for them when they are finished dancing.

 

Tom asks how you say goosebumps in sign language. Carrie Ann says, she loves how Peta protects Nyle, & she has respect for her. She tells Nyle they were with the music, & on the wave. She tells Nyle he's better than Superman. Bruno says, he's going to explode in a second. He says, that was what he was waiting for. He says, it was breathtaking. He says, it had such passion, belief, connection, & movement. He says, there was a time when they froze time & it was great. Len says, he lost his frame on occasions, but he things it was due to the speed of the dance. He says, he would have liked a little more stillness here & there. The audience boos. He says, he's proof that anyone can do anything if they want to. Tom says, he has a feeling there will be impressive scores here. Judges scores: Carrie Ann - 8, Len - 8, Bruno - 9, for a total of 25. They are at the top of tonight's Leaderboard. Tom tells them they are safe, & they will be here next week. They take their spot with the other couples.

 

Erin says, they will now reveal who will dance with Nyle & Peta next week, & who is in jeopardy. Tom says, Doug & Karina are in jeopardy. Erin says, joining them are Mischa & Artem. Tom says, also joining them are Jodie & Keo. Erin says, the remaining couple are safe. Tom says, on this third week of competition, the couple now leaving is Mischa & Artem.

 

Erin says, it looked like she had a great time tonight. Mischa says, she did. Tom says, they've seen this every season, where the couples leave on their best nights. Tom tells everyone to get their votes in, as he tells them to take a bow. He tells everyone to vote for America's Switch Up night online. Tom says, next Monday is Disney Night. He says, an all new Castle is next. Erin says, good night.
