Dancing With The Stars ~ U.S. Season 21 Episode 8

Tonight’s Dancing With The Stars opens up with the announcer welcoming us the Famous Dance’s Night. Professional dancers are dancing in the ballroom.

 

Some of the professional dancers are dancing on the judges table. Tom says, Mandy Moore choreographed that number. Tom welcomes us to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars. Leah Remini is filling in for Erin Andrews tonight. Her & Tom introduce the couples left in the competition.

 

Leah goes to the Sky Box. Tom introduces Olivia Newton John to the ballroom as a guest judge. Carrie Ann tells everything that they are looking for in tonight’s dances. She tells the dancers good luck & to kill it.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for this week for Hayes & Emma. They are dancing to a song from Grease. Hayes has never seen the movie Grease. Tom says, Hayes & Emma will dance for us live, after the break.

 

Tom welcomes us back to Famous Dances Night on Dancing With The Stars. Hayes & Emma are dancing a Jazz to You’re The One That I Want by Olivia Newton John from Grease. Hayes has never seen the movie. The audience cheers & claps for them as they dance. They are dressed in body hugging all black outfits for this dance. They are recreating the dance from the movie perfectly. The audience goes crazy for them when they are finished, & Emma jumps up in Hayes’ arms.

 

Tom says, WOW! Olivia Newton John tells Emma that was amazing choreography & she wants her shoes. She tells Hayes she can’t believe he’s only 15, he’s a baby John. She loved it. Bruno says, he’s totally sold on quality. He says, Hayes needs to learn to splice the beat when he dances. He says, he needs to be much more shaper & on it. Carrie Ann says, he’s such a stud. Hayes says, thank you. She tells him it was great with his facial expressions. She tells him to focus on his lines a little, & not be so Flat Stanley. She tells him he has so much potential. Tom tells Julianne there are two Sandie’s sitting next to each other. Julianne is going to be doing a show. She tells Hayes he’s doing an iconic dance. She says, she’s told him each week to open his gorgeous eyes & get into character, & he did that tonight. Tom tells viewers to make sure they get their votes in tonight, & the lines will be open for 1 hour after the show.

 

Hayes & Emma go to the Sky Box for their scores. Leah tells them they did amazing. Hayes thanks her. Hayes says, it was an honor to do this dance with Olivia Newton John there to judge them. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 8, Olivia Newton John – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 32. Leah tells Emma not to get teary eyed, because it makes her emotional. Emma tells Hayes he did well on that last part of the dance, & he’s her Danny. We see a few highlights from movies that the dancers will be dancing to tonight. Tom says, there’s more to come after the break, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with the judges dancing with Olivia Newton John by the judges table. Tom tells them they need to splice the beat, jokingly. He welcomes us back to the ballroom with Olivia Newton John as the guest judge tonight.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for the week for Andy & Allison. They are dancing a Jazz to Good Morning by Gene Kelly from the movie Singing In The Rain. The audience claps & cheers for them as they dance. They are using the stairs from the movie & are dressed in costumes to match the movie. The audience goes crazy for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, WOW! Andy & Allison receive a standing ovation, & the audience continues to cheer for them. Bruno says, for many people this is considered to be the best musical of all time. He says, it takes a lot to take that on & you succeeded with honor. Carrie Ann says, he fulfilled that. She says, it’s hard to do a tap routine & do the Jazz as well. Julianne says, this is an iconic dance & it’s one of her favorite of all time. She says, everyone needs to look out for them. Tom says, Olivia actually worked with Gene. Olivia tells Andy she did dance with Gene & she would love to dance with him anytime. Andy goes behind the judges table & gives her a kiss on the cheek. They go to the Sky Box.

 

Leah tells Andy he did a great job & he got the job. Andy says, it’s been really nice & it was a great weekend. Leah tells him he’s a contender. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Julianne – 10, Oliva Newton John – 10, Bruno – 10, for a total of 40. Leah says, officially a contender & you deserve it. Andy thanks his partner, Allison. Leah tells the viewers they need to vote to keep them in the competition. Tom says, the bar has been set at perfect. He says, there is more to come after the break, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with professional dancers dancing. Tom welcomes us back to Dancing With The Stars. We see highlights & practice sessions for the week for Alexa & Mark. They are dancing with a live python snake. They are dancing the Cha Cha to I’m A Slave 4 U by Britney Spears. Alexa has the same costume on that Britney wore in the original dance. The audience cheers for them while they are dancing. They really cheer for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, say hello to my little friend, about the snake around Alexa’s neck. Tom says, the snake was hiding in Mark’s hair all day. Carrie Ann says, she misses the essence of Britney in that dance. The audience boos. She says, when she got the snake she owned it & that’s what she wanted to see. Julianne says, she thinks the same thing. She thinks she went down a little from last week. She says, it needs to happen to be stronger next week. Tom asks if anyone gave Daisy, then snake, Zoloft, because she’s so calm. Olivia Newton John says, the snake is really calm & it was a good dance. Bruno says, it was sexy, tantalizing & a great dance. He tells her to watch her free hand again. They go to the Red Room for their scores. Tom tells the snake handler to go with them.

 

Leah uses an extended microphone because she is freaked out by the snake. Leah tells Paula to move back from the snake so she doesn’t upset it. Leah says, it was a great performance. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 7, Olivia Newton John – 7, Bruno – 8, for a total of 30. Mark says, he really proud of Alexa. Leah says, Mark was very expressive during the scores. Leah tells the viewers to get their votes in to keep them in the competition. Leah says, she has to stop saying Amazing, since there is a drinking game associated with it. Tom jokingly acts likes he’s drunk & says, he’s started the drinking game. He says, there’s more dancing to come, & it’s AMAZING!

 

Tom welcomes us back to Famous Dances Night from the Sky Box. We see highlights & practice sessions for this week for  Bindi & Derek. They are dancing a dance from the movie Dirty Dancing. Jennifer Grey went into a practice session to help them & they went in the water to practice the lift for the dance. They are dancing the Rumba to (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes. They are in perfect costume & do the dance perfectly with the audience cheering & clapping for them the whole way through. They audience goes crazy for them when they are finished.

 

Derek says, he’s never been more nervous in his entire life. Julianne says, Bindi’s legs were on fire. Julianne says, they had every little detail from the movie. She says, it was so amazing. Olivia Newton John says, they are amazing & enchanting. Tom says, for those of you drinking at home, that’s another, AMAZING. Bruno says, it was blindingly brilliant. He says, they captured all the nuances of the dance. Carrie Ann says, when you dance like that you make my job easy. Bindi is really excited. They go to the Sky Box. Tom says, next week is Halloween in the ballroom.

 

Leah asks what was going through Bindi’s mind when they were going to do the lift? Derek says, fear, & he didn’t want to let her down. Leah says, she the nicest girl she’s ever met. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Julianne – 10, Olivia Newton John – 10, Bruno – 10, for a total of 40. Leah says, well deserved. Leah says, no one is safe from elimination without your votes. Tom says, there are more dances to come after the break. We see a few highlights of practices for this week.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the ballroom. He’s holding Leah & says he’s cramping. We see highlights & practice sessions for this week for Paula & Louis. They are dancing a Jazz to Vogue by Madonna from the 1990 MTV Music Awards. The audience cheers & claps for them. Paula & the girls are dressed in full ball gowns & the men are dressed in costumes from the music video. The audience really cheers for them when they are finished. Tom jokes that men in shorts are now available online.

 

Tom says, that’s an outfit and a half right there. Olivia Newton John tells Paula she did Madonna proud & she looked like she was having fun. Bruno says, she did the National Enquirer proud. He says, she danced likes she was on wheels. Carrie Ann wants to know what happened to the sexy beast from last week? She says, the costumes overwhelmed them a little bit. The audience boos. Paula shows her bloomers. Julianne says, that was her time to be dramatic. She says, it was fun & it was a new character for her. Paula says, she loves doing the characters. They go to the Red Room. Tom tells everyone to watch next week for the Halloween episode.

 

Paula says, we did it. Leah asks if Paula did Madonna proud? Louis says, she did. Paula says, she wasn’t going to wear the outfits that Madonna does. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 6, Julianne – 6, Olivia Newton John – 6, Bruno – 6, for a total of 24. Leah says, the viewers have to vote if they want to keep them in the competition. Louis was on the floor crawling under Paula’s full ball gown. Tom says, on the plus side, Louis got to go exploring. He says, there’s more to come after the break, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with professional dancers dancing. Tom says, so far Andy & Allison and Bindi & Derek are at the top of the leader board with Paula & Louis at the bottom. We see highlights & practice sessions for the week for Carlos & Witney. They are dancing a Rumba to Pony by Ginuwine from the movie Magic Mike. Carlos tears his shirt on stage. He’s having a hard time being raunchy because of his faith & that’s not the type of person he is. The audience is cheering for them the entire dance. His wife, Alexa loved it. The audience erupts for them when they are finished.

 

Tom tells Carlos to bring his whole shirt over with him. Bruno tells Carlos to get down on his knees & ask for forgiveness. He says, he feels that he felt the 7 deadly sins & he answered his prayers. Carrie Ann says, the routine was great dancing. She says, it wasn’t just grinding, there was full on substance, & he owned it. Julianne tells him he handled the shirt tearing like a pro, & that was the sexiest Rumba she’s ever seen. She says, she respects what he says in his package & he nailed that performance. Olivia Newton John says, she’s kind of speechless because it was amazing. She says, he may have missed his calling & there’s a place in Vegas if he wants to find it. They go to the Red Room.

 

Leah jokes with Carlos & Witney about not having singles. Carlos says, hundreds. Leah asks what’s up with church tomorrow? Alexa gives a funny face. Witney says, he’s going. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Julianne – 9, Olivia Newton John – 9, Bruno – 10, for a total of 38. Carlos says, I’ll take it! Leah tells the viewers they get 9 votes this week per phone call, online & on Facebook. Tom says, there’s more dancing to come after the break. We see a few highlights for this week.

 

The judges dance us back into the Dancing With The Stars ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions for this week for Nick & Sharna. They are dancing the Samba to You Should Be Dancing by the Bee Gees from the movie Saturday Night Fever. They recreate the dance from the movie & turn it into the Samba. They do great! The audience cheers along with them & erupts for them when they are finished dancing.

 

Tom says, WOW! Great job, such fun. He introduces the house band!!! Tom says, WOW! I love tonight! That was fun, I almost like polyester now. Carrie Ann says, that was good, but it wasn’t perfect. The audience boos. She says, there was a sort of inconsistency. The audience boos again. She tells him he has to stay consistent. Julianne says, it was a true reenactment & she loved it. Olivia says, she thinks he brought disco back & channeled John. Bruno tells him it was a very very good Samba & he carried on the Disco feel. He says, it was absolutely brilliant. They go to the Red Room. Tom says, the scores from the last two weeks determines who goes home this week.

 

Leah says, it was great! Nick says, they need to bring disco back. Leah agrees. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Julianne – 10, Olivia Newton John – 10, Bruno – 10, for a total of 39. Nick is happy. He jokes with Leah about a face she taught him. Tom says, there’s a more dancing after the break. We see highlights for next week’s Halloween episode. They have the team dances also next week.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the ballroom. He tells the viewers that there is a separate dance show that goes on during the commercials. He thanks the crew for getting everything transitioned so quickly. Olivia Newton John’s daughter is in the audience.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for this week for Alek & Lindsay.  They had Peter Dobson come in for a practice session with them. He’s an Elvis Impersonator. They are dancing the Jive to Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley. The audience cheers along with them as they dance. They have the set to look just perfect. The audience really cheers for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, very nice, very nice. He says, he especially has to say that he liked when he was at the Farmer’s Market. Julianne says, Elvis is really the biggest character in the world. She says, every week she has asked him to improve & use his facial expressions. She says, he did that, but he’s still going in & out of character & he needs to shoot to the top. Olivia says, it takes a lot of courage to take on the king, & he did that & did a great job. Bruno says, he did good with the style & put in a lot of the Jive content. He says, he can’t hold back & he missed some of the pelvic thrusts. He says, he has to be a terminator, want this & do it. Carrie Ann says, she saw a lot of improvement. She says, she would like him to work with Artem to be a real contender. She says, he’s just below that & she wants him to be a contender. The audience boos. She says, give her a chance. She says, if he works with Artem it will help him. They go to the Sky Box.

 

Leah asks how hard it was to do that dance & channel Elvis? Alek says, it was hard. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 8, Olivia Newton John – 7, Bruno – 7, for a total of 30. Bruno says, they messed it up. Leah tells everyone to get their votes in. Tom says, Olivia Newton John is tough.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for this week for Tamar & Val. They missed two days of practice this week with Tamar being sick. Tamar has almost no voice & Val gave her flowers. Tom says, they will dance & one couple will be eliminated when we come back, live.

 

Tom says, we are back with our final Famous Dance of the night. Tamar & Val are dancing a Jazz to Rhythm Nation by Janet Jackson in Black & White. They have all the moves down, & costumes are perfect. They even have fog in the ballroom. The audience cheers for them while they are dancing & they really cheer for them when they are done.

 

Olivia Newton John says, they hit that on the head, they did great. Bruno says, they were the star of the show & they lead this dance. He says, it’s a great come back & they did it perfectly. Carrie Ann says, they had lower scores last week, this was the best dance of the night & they nailed it. She says, it was the hardest dance to do all the moves perfectly. Julianne tells them it was brilliant & they did it perfectly. Tamar tells everyone she’s hear for the fans, not just the scores.

 

Judges scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Julianne – 10, Olivia Newton John – 10, Bruno -10, for a total of 40. Tom says, there is a 3-way tie for first place. Val thanks Janet Jackson & the choreographers. They go to the walkway with the other couples.

 

Tom says, the first couple who is in jeopardy is Paula & Louis. He says, joining them is Alexa & Mark. Tom says, the remaining couples are safe. Tom says, Alexa & Mark and Paula & Louis on the 6th week of competition, the couple leaving now is Paula & Louis. Alexa is crying & Paula starts to tear up. She says, she’s so excited she gets to go & see her grand babies. She says she’s been like a fish out of water for 6 weeks. She says, it’s wonderful & it’s worth it. Tom tells them to take a bow center stage. He says, they will be on GMA tomorrow.

 

Tom & Leah go through the phone numbers for all of the couples. Tom says, there is a 3-way tie at the top of the leader board with Bindi & Derek, Andi & Allision, and Tamar & Val with perfect 40’s. Tied at the bottom are Alexa & Mark and Alek & Lindsay with 30. He thanks Olivia Newton John & Leah for filling in. Leah thanks everyone & tells everyone to vote. Tom says, Halloween night is next Monday. Tom tells everyone to watch Jimmy Kimmel Live, & an all new Castle is up next. Leah says, let’s do the lift again.
