Dancing With The Stars ~ U.S. Season 21 Episode 6

We come to the ballroom tonight on Dancing With The Stars with the stars for their Most Memorable Year. Alfonso is filling in for Tom tonight, because he with his dad at this time. Erin says, we are here for the stars Most Memorable Year. The stars & their professional partners are introduced to the ballroom by Alfonso & Erin.

 

Alfonso said that Tom traveled back home to see his dad. He is happy to be filling in for Tom at this time. We see this week’s highlights & practice sessions for Alexa & Mark.  Her Most Memorable Year was 2000 when she booked Spy Kids. They are dancing the Foxtrot to Momma Said by The Shirelles. The audience cheers for them when they are finished.

 

Alfonso says, what a way to start off the night. Her & Mark hug each other. Julianne says, tonight is obviously going to be a very emotional night, but they have to judge the dance for what it is. She says, it was fun & entertaining, but she had a mishap at the end when she lost her footing. She says, it was a great way to start the evening. Bruno says, she lost the train, but she found her way. He says, that was her first ballroom & she just needs to go from the waist in the future. Carrie Anne says, she saw her theatricality tonight. She says, she brought her strength & might it light & fun. She says, it’s nice to see her expanding. They go to the Sky Box. Alfonso says, the phone lines are open, you get 10 votes tonight, & the lines will remain open for 1 hour after the show.

 

Alexa says, she had a black out moment out there tonight. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7, for a total of 21. Alexa says, it’s better than a 6 & she’ll take it. She says, they will combine this week’s score with next week’s scores to determine who goes home. There are more emotional memorable years coming up.

 

Alfonso welcomes us back to Dancing With The Stars Most Memorable Year. We see highlights & practice sessions for Gary & Anna. His most memorable year is 1979, when he stared in The Buddy Holly Story. They are dancing to That’ll Be The Day by Buddy Holly. We can’t see what dance they are dancing because of weather related bars scrolling on the T.V. The audience claps along with them while they are dancing, & they give them big cheers when they are finished.

 

Bruno tells him that everything was great, but he needs to nail precision. Carrie Ann says, every time he dances she feels his spirit, & that makes her happy. She says, they are at week 4, & people are improving, so she worries about him. She says, she didn’t see the improvement she would like to see. Julianne says, he had persistence when he wanted to recover, & in this competition. She says, he’s trying to improve & Anna is doing such a great job. She tells Anna she’s doing a great job & at the end of the day he’s entertaining. They go to the Red Room for their scores.

 

Erin tells him he was very passionate about the lighting & the set. He says, he’s been doing it for years. Erin says, he entertains. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 5, Julianne – 6, Bruno – 5, for a total of 16. Gary says, the scores don’t tell what’s in the heart. They don’t judge the judges judging, so it’s hard to judge what’s in their hearts. Alfonso says, it’s all about the heart. More to come after the break.

 

We come back to the ballroom with a dancer in tights in the ballroom. Alfonso welcomes us back & introduces the highlights & practice sessions for Tamar & Val. Her most memorable year is 2012, because she almost lost her husband, Vince, due to multiple blood clots in his lungs. They are dancing the Rumba to King by her. The audience cheers for them while they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished. She goes to her husband & gives him a kiss & a long hug.

 

Alfonso tells her nice job, & he can tell she’s very emotional. Carrie Ann says, her story touched her deeply, yet what she danced touched her even more deeply. She is crying, & having a hard time talking. She says, it’s a beginning to more chapter. Julianne says, she’s never seen her more beautiful than she is right now. She says, she’s never given her a 9 yet, because she’s been an 8 or an 8 ½. She says, there’s always been something missing & she hit that height tonight. Bruno says, tonight her connection was wired to perfection. He says, the lines were clear as a whistle. He thanks her for a doing a proper Rumba by the rules. He thanks Val also. They go to the Red Room for their scores. Alfonso tells everyone to vote for the switch up at ABC.COM.

 

Erin asks Tamar about her dance. She says, it’s tough, & you just have to trust & believe in God. Erin thanks her for sharing. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 9, for a total of 27. Tamar’s husband is there with her. Erin tells everyone to vote for the dancers tonight. Alfonso says, there are more couples to dance after the break.

 

We come back to the ballroom with professional dancers on the dance floor. Allison, a professional dancer, just announced that she is pregnant with her daughter & husband by her side. Andy says, they are a trio now on the dance floor. Alfonso congratulates her on the baby. He says, last week he was a guest judge, this week he’s filling in for Tom, & next week he wants to take over for the band.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for Hayes & Emma. His most memorable year was 2014. He is dancing a Contemporary to Stitches by Shawn Mendes. The audience cheers & claps for them while they are dancing. The audience erupts for them when they are finished.

 

Alfonso says, it was beautiful. Julianne asks, what just happened? She says, she is shocked & he’s broken out of his shell he had. She asks if she should give him a 9 also? She says, that was fun & great. Bruno says, get out of here, & asks, what was that? He says, it was technically demanding & he didn’t miss a beat. He says, he whipped it into shape. He says, he’s getting an actor now, he’s a superstar. Carrie Anne says, he finally understands every move. She says, he knew when to move, pull back & do the lift with Emma. They go to the Sky Box for their scores. Alfonso tells the audience to subscribe to their You Tube Channel.

 

Erin says, she loves the hugs. Hayes says, he was really nervous in dress rehearsal & they worked it out because he has the best partner by his side. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 9, for a total of 27. Erin tells Hayes to do all of his faces from the last 15 seconds in his next Vine. He says, he will take that into consideration when he does another Vine. Alfonso says, there is more to come, live, when we come back.

 

We come back to the ballroom with Julianne’s most memorable year. Alfonso welcomes us back to the ballroom. Alfonso says, Alek had a year that has been unforgettable. He says, his most memorable year is 2015. It started with the train overseas when he & his friends were on vacation. He says, he was going to go back to college after his deployment. He was given his awards & then asked to do DWTS. Now, the UCC shooting last week was actually at his college. He started calling all of his friends & family. He says, he felt totally helpless, because there was nothing he could do. He went back home for the community. He says, he would have had classes that day if he was there, in the building where the shooting was. This has been a tough week for him. He’s dedicating tonight’s dance to the entire community. Alek & Lindsay are dancing the Paso Doble to Wake Me Up by Avicii. The audience claps for them while they are dancing. They erupt for them when they are finished. They get a standing ovation.

 

Alfonso tells him he did his entire town proud. Bruno tells him they are all with him, because it’s very difficult to dance under that kind of pressure. He tells him just to extend more & push his hips forward next time. Carrie Ann says, he pushed through everything, & he does that with his dance. She says it was strong & sturdy. Julianne says, he did his twist turns & toe tap amazingly well. She says, dance is an expression & it’s an art. She says, when he’s frustrated & angry let them see that in the future. Alfonso says, they will get their scores after the break, when we come back live, after this.

 

Erin welcomes us back to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars. She tells everyone in Oregon that they are in the prayers of everyone at the show. Alek & Lindsay’s judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 24. Lindsay says, she’s so incredibly proud of Alek for going through what he did this week. Alfonso says, he’s stepping in for Tom tonight.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for Nick. His most memorable year was 1992, when he started with The Backstreet Boys. Nick & Sharna are dancing the Jazz to Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) by The Backstreet Boys. The crowd is on their feet with flashlights while they are dancing. The cheer for them when they are finished.

 

Alfonso says, what a great feeling here in the ballroom. He says, it feels like a Backstreet Boys concert. Carrie Ann tells Sharna that every fan girl of the Backstreet Boys wants to be her right now. She says, the ballroom training has turned him into a great dancer. Julianne says, hot, hot, hot, & she shows him the sign she made for him. Bruno says, it’s a mega sexy mega hit. They go to the Sky Box for their scores.

 

Erin says, every girl in America is soo jealous of Sharna right now. She says, she wishes she was Sharna up there. She thanks him for reliving her 20’s. She asks him how ballroom has changed him? Nick says, it’s making him grow as a person, & how to overcome adversity. He is grateful for everything & is glad to be a part of this. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 9, for a total of 27. Sharna says, that was incredible & thanks Nick for letting her live out her rock star dream with him. Alfonso says, he’s trying to take everyone’s job. Nick’s Backstreet Boys band members were in the ballroom tonight. Alfonso says, there’s more to come live, after the break.

 

We come back to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars with professional dancers on the floor. Alfonso welcomes us back. We see highlights & practice sessions for Carlos & Witney. His most memorable year was 2012 with his band Big Time Rush (BTR) & when he met his wife, Alexa. They are dancing the Waltz  to Amazing Grace by Judy Collins. The audience cheers for them while they are dancing, & they erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Alfonso asks for a hand for the singers & the band from the audience. Julianne thanks him for sharing & sharing that beautiful dance. She says, they were genuinely connected. Julianne tells him to work on his shoulders & opening his chest. Bruno says, they were intertwined & he’s was memorized. He says, it was the best he’s given. He says, he almost lost it at the end. He tells him to sort that out technically. Carrie Ann tells them they are a bit cray cray. She says, she understands that the spirit moved him. She says, tonight he danced from his soul, & she’s really happy for him. They go to the Sky Box for their scores. Alfonso tells viewers to go to ABC.COM to get exclusive videos.

 

Erin tells them that was fantastic. She says, it did feel very spiritual. Carlos says, it felt amazing & it’s hard to show that side of him. He says, he’s thankful to God & Witney for putting up with him this week. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 25. Witney gets congratulations from Alfonso & Erin both on her engagement. Alfonso says, there are more emotional dances to come after the break.

 

We come back to Carrie Ann with her most memorable year. Alfonso tells Carrie Ann she’s a Madonna girl. We see highlights & practice sessions for Paula & Louis. Her most memorable year was 1989, when she got sick & tired or being sick & tired & got out of her 27 year marriage & started her bag lady business. They are dancing the Cha Cha to Respect by Aretha Franklin. The audience cheers for them while they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Alfonso tells them they did a great job. Bruno says, look at you momma. He says, she can do it & fire on all cylinders because she can. Carrie Ann says, she wants to move like she does at her age. She tells her she loses focus a little. She tells her to keep going when she makes mistakes. Julianne tells her she’s such a fierce woman & she’s overcame soo much. She tells her she’s awesome & amazing. They go to the Red Room for their scores. Alfonso says, next week is the switch up & this week & next week’s scores will be combined for the elimination.

 

Erin tells her she is awesome. Erin tells her she needs to work it with her switch up partner. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 6, Julianne – 6, Bruno – 6, for a total of 21. Erin tells Paula to work on whipping her hair for next week. Alfonso says, it’s been a night of compelling stories & dances, & it’s not over with yet. We come back to the ballroom with professional dancers dancing. Alfonso says, a whole lot of hotness in the ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions for Andy & Allison. His most memorable year is 2009 when he was a street performer, driving his mom’s mini-van. He says, he found out that year that his mom had breast cancer, & because they caught it really really late, they only had a few days to say goodbye. They are dancing the Cha Cha to Good To Be Alive by him. The audience claps for them while they dance, & they erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Alfonso says, it was beautiful & a nice job. He tells Allison she will be 6 months pregnant if they make the finals. Carrie Ann says, she loves the song. She says, there was an awkwardness to him tonight with his arms. The audience boos. Julianne disagrees & says, it’s the most comfortable he’s been since week one. She says, his legs were bent a little. Bruno says, the message was loud & clear, & that worked for him, especially the side by side. He tells him to work on the footwork a little for the Cha Cha. They go to the Sky Box for their scores. Alfonso tells the audience to go to ABC.COM to vote for the switch ups.

 

Andy tells Erin that was for his mom & he thought about her the whole time. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 23. Erin tells Allison when she complains about getting on the treadmill she will remember that she is 4 months pregnant & is dancing in the competition. Alfonso, tells us that Bindi is up next with her most memorable year dedicated to her dad, after the break, live.

 

Alfonso welcomes us back for the last routine from Bindi & Derek. We see their highlights & practice sessions for the week. Her most memorable year was in 2006 when her dad passed away. She talks about the fun adventures she had with her dad. She was 8 years old when he passes away. They are dancing a Contemporary to Every Breath You Take by Aaron Krause Featuring Liza Anne). The audience cheers for them when they are finished. Bindi is really emotional & her mom & brother are in the ballroom.

 

Bindi says, the dance is for her dad & her family, as well as everyone back home. Julianne is crying & has to pull herself together. She says, it took her breath away as well. She says, they said it at the beginning that they have to judge the actual dance, & that dance was breathtaking. She says, that was a tribute to her father & she should be proud, but he’s very proud to. Bruno says, her dad was dancing with her every step of the way. He tells her that Australia & the world are proud of her. Carrie Ann says, she makes every dance she a bright light.

 

Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 10, for a total 28. Bindi goes to Bruno & gives him a huge hug. Derek says, Bindi is a bright light & has made this season his best yet. Alfonso tells them to join the other dancers on the skywalk. Alfonso says, the first couple in jeopardy tonight are Carlos & Witney. Erin says, joining them are Gary & Anna. The ballroom gets a dead silence. Everyone else is safe. Alfonso says, Carlos/Witney & Gary/Anna, the couple leaving on this fourth week of competition is Gary & Anna.

 

Erin helps him down. She tells him that they’ve loved having him as part of their family. He says, in 45 years, he never expected this. He says, he’s learned things in himself that he can emphasis on to work on. He says, the fact he’s been eliminated is false. He says, his spirit with Anna as a partnership will remain in the ballroom for the rest of the show. Alfonso tries to stop Gary from talking. He tells him he’s not done. Alfonso tells them to go to center stage for a final bow.

 

The numbers are posted for voting. Bindi & Derek are at the top of tonight’s leaderboard. Paula & Louis are at the bottom of the leaderboard. Alfonso & Erin tell everyone to vote for the next hour, & go to ABC.COM to vote for the switch up. Erin says, Jimmy Kimmy & then corrects herself to Jimmy Kimmel is on later tonight. Alfonso says, an all new Castle is coming up next. They both say goodnight.
