Dancing With The Stars ~ U.S. Season 21 Episode 5

Tonight’s Dancing With The Stars opens with The Muppet’s in the Control Room. The female professional dancers dance in the ballroom. Tom welcomes us to TV Night. He has Miss Piggy with him tonight. She announces the guest judge, Alfonso Ribeiro. They introduce the couples to the ballroom.

 

Tom asks Miss Piggy what she did with Erin? Miss Piggy says, who needs her? Tom says, he’s going to see what happened to Erin. We see highlights & practice sessions for Carlos & Witney. They are dancing the Jazz to Thank You For Being A Friend, the Theme from the Golden Girls. They are dressed up as older people. The crowd loves them.

 

Tom welcomes Alfonso to the ballroom as the guest judge & the new host of America’s Funniest Videos. Alfonso thanks Tom for his support. Alfonso says, it’s great to be back in the ballroom. He says, it was a great start. He tells Carlos to just keep his arms straight. Julianne says, he may have gotten into character too much. She says, they had some hunched shoulders going on. She says, it was fun to watch. Bruno says, it reminds him of a scene in Cocoon. He says, they took the musical phrases together. Carrie Ann says, she doesn’t feel that they’ve improved from last week. She says, she feels like they are shrinking, & she knows they aged for this. She says, she wants to see it next week. They go to the Sky Box for their scores.

 

Tom says, the phone lines are open. Tom says, they will tell us more about Kim’s condition later in the show. Erin says, people on Twitter wanted Miss Piggy to carry the show tonight. She says, sorry, not sorry, but she loves that pig. Carlos tells Alfonso, thank you for being a friend. Alfonso says, love you bud. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Alfonso – 8, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 31. Erin says, the phone lines will remain 1 hour after the show is over. Tom says, it’s TV night in the ballroom. There are some fun routines to come up.

 

Tom welcomes us back to TV night with guest judge Alfonso. We see highlights & practice sessions for Paula & Louis. They are dancing the Samba to the theme song from Gilligan’s Island. Paula is dressed like Mrs. Howell. They have fake rain in the ballroom. The audience claps along with them dancing. They really loved the dance.

 

Tom asks what happened to the professor. Paula’s grandchildren go out to her with roses for her to get her scores. Julianne says, the fun about theme week is the story telling. She says, this theme may have gotten away this week. She talks about dance steps that went bad, & she wanted it to be better. Bruno says, the Samba got stranded by the shipwreck. He says, she was trying to get the steps right, & then she lost her footwork. He says, there has to be bounce all the time. Carrie Ann says, they captured the spirit of what the show is about, & Mrs. Howell was a little more wild. She tells her not to get discouraged. Alfonso gives her words of encouragement. He says, she had the toe leads which was great. They go to the Red Room for their scores with the grandchildren.

 

Erin asks Hayes if he’s even old enough to know what Gilligan’s Island is? He says, he’s seen one of two episodes. Judge’s Scores. Carrie Ann – 5, Alfonso – 5, Julianne – 5, Bruno – 5, for a total of 20. Louis says, he was 20 a few years ago. He says, they will keep going & work hard. There’s more to come, & we find out about what happened to Kim.

 

Tom brings us back to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars TV night. We see highlight & practice sessions for Tamar & Val. They are dancing the Tango to the theme from Mad Men. Val is dressed as a 1960’s business man & Tamar as his secretary. The audience cheers along with them as they are dancing. The audience erupts for them when they are finished.

 

Tom tells them, nicely done. Bruno says, you two mean business. He says, dirty, ruthless, business. He says, it was very fitting. He tells her to keep extending her lines. Carrie Ann says, that was must see TV, & that was sick. She says, the temperature in the ballroom was turned up. Alfonso tells her she is a front runner. He tells Tamar to let him lead her to the finish line. Julianne says, she is fierce & a strong woman. She says, there was an innocence about it that was beautiful to see & it was refreshing. They go to the Red Room. Tom says, the switch up is coming in two weeks. He says, you can go to ABC.COM for more details.

 

Erin tells them that was hot. Erin says, let Val lead like Alfonso said. Erin says, she danced with his brother & that was hard. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Alfonso – 9, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 33. Tom says, Alexa & Mark are up next, live.

                                                                                        

Tom says, we’re back & we’re live. We see highlights & practice sessions for Alexa & Mark. They are going to dance the Jazz from the theme to Breaking Bad. Val is bald & they are dressed in hazmat outfits. The audience cheers for them while they dance, & they go crazy for them when they are finished.

 

Carrie Ann says, everything was very powerful & very much in sync. Alfonso says, awesome, that was fantastic. She tells them they can win & her & Carlos can not. He tells her to stay concentrated on her partner, because they can win. Julianne says, she’s going to second that, & tonight she feels that they are a team. She tells them to keep it going & she loves it. Bruno says, there was absolutely nothing bad about that. He says, they look like two professionals. They go to the Sky Box for their scores. Tom says, to subscribe to the You Tube channel to see dances from this season.

 

Erin says, this was unreal & she loves what Julianne said. She tells Alexa to forget about grandpa & she’s not trying to cause problems at home, but they were great. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Alfonso – 9, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 9, for a total of 36. Erin tells them it’s the highest score of the night so far. Erin says, there is more dancing to come after the break. They have the men professional dancers dance in the ballroom to take us out to break. Miss Piggy kisses on Derek at the end of their dance.

 

Tom welcomes us back to TV night with The Muppet’s. Kermit is with him. Tom thanks him for standing in as the Director tonight. We see highlights & practice sessions for Andy & Allison. They are dancing the Quickstep to the theme from American Bandstand. Andy is dressed in a plaid suit & Allison has on a poodle skirt. The audience cheers along with them as they dance, & they go crazy for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, they are a snappy dressing duo. Alfonso tells him he remembers when he did the Quickstep on week 3, & it was the most difficult dance for him. He tell him he needs to get that posture right. Tom says, he likes Alfonso powering through the boos. Julianne agrees, but she loves what they did for them night. She says, it’s better than last week & she’s impressed. Bruno says, it was right for the times, they just need to finish it correctly, crisp, clean & clear. He tells them to clean it up. Carrie Ann says, it was very entertaining, but she feels he’s in his head again. She tells him to make eye contact with Allison to melt into one. She tells him to be aware of her & become a team. They go to the Sky Box for their scores. Tom says, they will give us an update on Kim.

 

Erin says, she doesn’t know how they are doing this with Andy’s touring schedule. He says, she’s been great & she’s been going everywhere with him. Erin says, she loves that he listens to the judges & he always comes back to tell them why he did something. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Alfonso – 7, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 7, for a total of 29. Erin says, they need your votes to survive. Tom looks at the lights & can’t see the prompt now. More dancing to come up after the break, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with the Thing hand dancing in the ballroom. Tom welcomes us back. We see highlights & practice sessions for Gary & Anna. They are dancing the Tango to the theme from the Addams Family. They are dressed like Gomez & Morticia Addams. The audience claps & snaps along with them while they dance. They go crazy for them when they are finished.

 

Julianne says, they nailed every single step. She tells them, well done. Bruno says, that was perfectly cast, & he did the Tango, well done. Carrie Ann says, he looks exceptionally handsome tonight. She says, there was a yummy yummy going on. She says, there was a new found elegance. Alfonso says, he’s in love with him, because he was totally in character the entire time. Gary tells Erin that his new found elegance is his underwear. He tells Erin that she’s doing well. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 6, Alfonso – 7, Julianne – 6, Bruno – 6, for a total of 25. Erin says, if you want these two beauties to come back next week, you need to vote. Gary plugs the audience to vote for them. Tom says, there’s more dancing to come, live.

 

We come back to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars with professional dancers dancing in the ballroom. Tom says, that was very cool. Erin wants to trade bodies with Emma. We see highlights & practice sessions for Alek & Lindsay. They are dancing the Tango to the theme song to True Blood. He’s dressed up as a vampire.

 

Tom says, very nice. Bruno says, true talent runs through your blood. He says, it was soo accomplished & soo incredible. Carrie Ann says, if he didn’t have game before the show, he has game now. He says, he is a powerful partner & she loves watching him dance. Alfonso says, he is a hero & he danced like a hero tonight. Julianne says, he danced with perfection & he has the best technique of anyone in this competition. They go to the Sky Box for their scores.

 

Erin says, Lindsay is such an amazing pro partner for this guy. They are trying to get Alek to go out with Jenna on a date. Erin tells Alek he’s going to get some dates now for sure. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Alfonso – 8, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 8, for a total of 33. Erin says, they have the second highest score of the  night. She tells the viewers they need to vote. (They are tied for second with Tamar & Val). Tom says, there is more dancing to come after the break, live.

 

Tom welcomes us back & tells us about Kim having a scare this week. We see highlights & practice sessions for Kim & Tony for this week. Kim had a TIA (mini stroke) 12 hours after leaving the show. Kim had a blood clot & was in the hospital for 3 days. She is 37 years old & didn’t think she would have a mini stroke. She was thinking about her family while she was going through it. Tom says, Kim was not able to get into a pressurized cabin for the flight to L.A. Tony & Jenna are performing their dance to the theme song from I Dream Of Geanie. Jenna is dressed like the Geanie. They go to Kim who’s with them via Skype from Atlanta.

 

Tom tells her, she’s looking good as always. Kim says, she learned the whole dance that Jenna just did. They aren’t getting judges scores. Tom says, this is a very unusual circumstance. He says, the rules say, that due to illness they must withdraw from the competition. Kim says, she wishes she could have been there. Tony says, she comes first, & she needs to listen to the doctors. Tony says, she can fly on Sunday, but they need to see if they can get the rules to be bent one time. The audience boos. Everyone gives Kim a round of applause. Tom says, it’s not the first time the lawyers have been booed. More dancing to come, live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with the professional dancers dancing. Tom welcomes us back to TV night. We see highlights & practice sessions for Bindi & Derek. They were given The Jetson’s dance to, but it didn’t clear in time. It was changed to a Quickstep to the theme song to The Jefferson’s. They are danced in 1970’s clothing. The audience claps along with them & cheers as they dance. The audience goes crazy for them.

 

Tom says, a Quickstep & we got the floor waxed. Marla Gibbs from The Jefferson’s is in the ballroom & tells them that she loved the dance. Alfonso tells them to make sure she keeps the posture, & to get the butt in a little. Julianne says, she’s always a joy to watch, this just wasn’t her best dance. The audience boos loudly. She tells her to keep her body a little better. Bruno says, she has The Jetson’s dance still, & tells her to control her frame. Carrie Ann says, just a few tiny mistakes, but she’s a solid competitor & she loves watching her. They go to the Sky Box for their scores.

 

Erin tells her that she knows her foot is hurting. She says, it’s a little painful tonight, & by next week it should be better & she will be back to the same passion as she’s had. Derek says, she’s never danced or worn heels in her life & she learned that dance in two days. He says, he’s in awe of her. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Alfonso – 8, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 32.

 

Tom says, he loves that Derek is winded & Bindi says, she will be back to full strength next week. He says, one couple will be eliminated tonight & there is more dancing to come, live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to TV night in the ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions for Nick & Sharna. They are dancing the Viennese Waltz to the theme song from Downton Abbey. Nick is dressed in a black tuxedo with tails. Sharna has on an elegant satin ball gown type of costume with jewels on the bodice. The audience erupts for them when they are finished.

 

Tom says, nicely done you two. He says, he loves the wink Sharna gave Nick. Julianne says, Nick, you were a leading man tonight. She says, that was beautiful, best dance of the night. Bruno says, exquisitely refined attention to detail. He says, he could tell the story telling throughout. He says, it was Masterpiece Theatre. Carrie Ann says, he went from Pop Artist to Classical Virtuoso. Alfonso says, near perfect. He says, it’s not a sprint & tells him to relax a little. They go to the Sky Box for their scores.

 

Tom says, The Muppet’s will be back in the ballroom next week for the most memorable year in their lives. Erin asks Nick how he pulled it all together? He says, something just happens & you do what you have to do. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Alfonso – 9, Julianne – 9, Bruno – 9, for a total of 36. They are tied for first place this week. Nick breaks a glass. Sharna compliment Nick. Tom says, tonight’s elimination is coming up. He says, Hayes & Emma close out the competition next, live.

 

Tom says, he doesn’t know how they are going to beat this on their Halloween episode. He says, we are back for the last dance of the night. We see highlights & practice sessions for Hayes & Emma. They are dancing the Jive to the theme song from The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Hayes has Rafael’s costume on. Emma is dressed like April O’Neil. The audience cheers & claps along with them as they dance. The audience goes crazy for them when they are finished. Tom says, we have to get the shell out of here.

 

Bruno says, he has star quality & he’s soo focused. He says, he has to point his feet on kicks & flicks. Carrie Ann says, she lost something with the mask. She says, he came out strong & went down some. She says, it wasn’t his best performance. Alfonso agrees with Carrie Ann, about midway through the routine he lost some of his energy. He tells Hayes to finish his arm movements. He loves his energy & tells him to keep it up. Julianne says, they were great on timing when they were side by side, but they did have a little issue. She tells him to work on that.

 

Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Alfonso – 8, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 8, for a total of 30. Tom says, they need votes to stay in next week. Tom has them go to the walkway with the other couples. Tom says, the first couple in jeopardy is Andy & Allison. Erin says, joining them are Paula & Louis. The audience boos. Tom says, the remaining couples are safe.

 

Tom says, Andy & Allison, Paula & Louis, since Kim & Tony had to withdraw, no one is leaving this week. Erin says, they scores carry over to next week. Tom tells the viewers to get their votes in. Erin says, it was a great night of competition. Tied at the top of the leader board are Alexa/Mark & Nick/Sharna with 36. At the bottom of the leader board are Paula & Louis with 20. Tom thanks The Muppet’s for helping out tonight. Tom says, Castle is next. Erin says, goodnight.
