Dancing With The Stars ~ U.S. Season 21 Episode 3

Tonight’s Dancing With The Stars opens with images of this season’s stars & the names of their hometowns. Tonight’s show is Hometown Glory. The announcer welcomes us to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars.  Tom & Erin shout out to their hometowns & tell us that this will be a two night event, & there will be a double elimination over the two nights. One couple will be leaving at the end of tonight’s show.

 

We see Nick Carter’s highlights & practice sessions for his hometown of Tampa, Florida. He & Sharna are dancing the Jive to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by The Andrews Sisters. The audience loves them & goes crazy for them. Julianne tells them it was a great way for them to start the night. Bruno says, they were buzzing soo much at times that he forgot the footsteps sometimes. He says, it was a bit rough. Carrie Ann says, it was rough & she’s surprised since he’s such a great performer. She tells him he’s a Backstreet Boy & he can do this. They go to Erin in the sky box for their scores.

 

Erin tells them she wishes they had some matches & lighter fluid to burn his shoes that he kicked off during the routine. Nick says, he was just having fun & those things happen. He says, you just need to recover. Erin asks how he’s handling that they have two dances tonight? Nick says, you put your nose to the grind & just work. Judges scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7, for a total of 21. Erin says, the Tampa Bay Bucks would be proud of him. Tom says, there is a full night ahead after the break.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the two night event for Dancing With The Stars this week. We see highlights & practice sessions for Paula’s hometown of Savannah, Georgia. Her & Louis are dancing the Rumba to Midnight Train To Georgia by Gladys Knight & The Pips. The audience claps along & cheers for them as they dance. The audience loves them & goes crazy for them.

 

Bruno says, they went to Georgia, even though she was a little off on the time. He tells her to keep the continuous movement going. Carrie Ann says, they gave them the hometown glory & a little somethin somethin. Paula thanks her. Carrie Ann tells her she does have to work on her turns, & it was well done. Julianne says, she shook off her nerves from last week & did great. She says, it was pretty awesome. Paula says, she just started walking in heels last week. Julianne tells her to straighten her back legs a little bit. Paula says, she’s her this week for herself. They go to the Red Room to get their scores.

 

Erin says, they did shake off last week’s nerves. Louis says, Paula doesn’t have glasses on so that helps. She says, she has really really old contacts in. Judges scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Julianne – 6, & Bruno – 6, for a total of 19. Paula is upset the audience is booing. Erin tells her they are booing the scores not her. Paula says, “O.K.” Erin says, we will be back & we are Live.

 

We come back to tonight’s show with professional dancers on the dance floor. We see highlights & practice sessions for Hayes for his hometown of Mooresville, North Carolina. He & Emma are dancing the Foxtrot to This Is How We Roll by Florida Georgia Line. The crowd goes crazy for them. Hayes runs to hug his mom when he was finished with the dance. Tom asks Hayes about his issues with the motor bike during rehearsal. He says, it was the first time he used that.

 

Carrie Ann tells Hayes he doesn’t need the motor bike because he can dance. She says, he was great. Julianne tells him to be consistent from the beginning to the end of the dance. Tom says, Hayes grabs his arm & he lost blood flow. Bruno compares Hayes to Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Bruno says, Hayes has the arms of a ballet dancer automatically. He tells him to use the rise & fall. He tells him to learn from Emma, she’s very good. His mom seems pleased with the judge’s comments. He goes to the Sky Box with Erin. Erin tells him that everyone at home is happy with his mom. Hayes tells his mom he loves her soo much, & thanks her for supporting him.

 

Hayes tells them that his mom made him mashed potatoes & chicken. He’s tearing up about how much he loves his mom & how much she loves him. Judges scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7, for a total of 22. Erin tells him to wipe the tears & go celebrate. Erin says, one couple will be eliminated tonight, based on last week’s scores & viewer votes. Tom says, there are more hometown dances to come after the break, Live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars Hometown Hero’s. We see highlights & practice sessions for Chaka Khan’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois. She & Keo are dancing the Foxtrot to Chicago by Frank Sinatra. The audience cheers with them as they dance. They get amazing applause & cheers when they are finished.

 

Julianne says, Chaka Khan was on an upward climb. She says, they want to feel something & they did. Bruno says, she didn’t sink & that’s a step forward. Carrie Ann says, she made a little mistake. She says, she is doing great, & needs to memorize the choreography. She says, there’s something magnificent right there. Chaka Khan says, there is. Tom says, tomorrow night’s show is soo special even the judges forgot.

 

Judges scores: Carrie Ann – 5, Julianne – 5, Bruno – 5, for a total of 15. Chaka says, it’s better than last week. Tom says, more hometown glory dances to come for more of the couples coming up, Live.

 

Tom is upstairs in the ballroom when we return with the Social Media hosts for tonight. We see the highlights & practice sessions for Andy who grew up in New York. Andy & Allison dance the Jive to Only The Good Dye Young by Billy Joel. The audience goes wild for them when they are finished.

 

The audience continues & takes a little bit to stop the applause & cheers. Bruno tells him he loves the attack & the energy. He says, it was all very very well, but he went off soo many times on the timing. The audience boos. Bruno tells him he needs to be more precise. Carrie Ann says, he was all over the place. She says, she can tell him he practiced it so hard, & doesn’t understand how he got off beat. Julianne says, he started it soo strong, & then his kicks & flicks got off. She says, he had a strong performance, but he needs to work on it. Tom says, it’s very tough for them with two dances in one week. They go to the Sky Box with Erin.

 

Erin gives him a chance to answer Carrie Ann. Andy says, dancing is very hard. He says, he used FaceTime to tell people how hard it was. Judges scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7, for a total of 21. Andy says, “I’ll totally take that.” Erin says, you don’t have a choice on this show. What you get is what you get. Tom says, he had the best answer in 21 seasons that, “Dancing is hard.”

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for Kim, but we don’t find out what her hometown is. Her & Tony dance the Quickstep to Queen Bee by Rochelle Diamante. The audience goes wild for them when they are finished dancing.

 

Carrie Ann says, this is a tough week & we are seeing everyone struggle, but you just gave us a pow pow & showed us you are in the game. Julianne asks how she feels? Kim says, she loved it. Julianne tells Tony to keep it up. She says, she’s just scratched the surface of her potential. Bruno says, what a way to show she’s back in the game. We will see their scores after the break.

Erin welcomes us back to the ballroom & says, before the break we saw a great Quickstep from Tony & Kim. They are in the Sky Box for their scores. Kim says, she absolutely loves the Quickstep. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Julianne – 6, Bruno – 6, for a total of 29. Erin tells the viewers they need to vote.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for Alek for his hometown of Sacramento, California. He & Lindsay are dancing the Jazz to Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. The audience cheers for them while they are dancing & goes crazy with cheers & applause when they are finished.

 

Julianne says, it’s one thing to be that strong base for the lady, but it’s another to do the turns. She tells him he was equal on all aspects. Bruno says, he definitely believes in him. He tells Alek he has grace & he can dance. Bruno tells him practice serves him well, well done. Carrie Ann says, that was intoxicating. She tells him there’s something magical about him & he’s a joy to watch. Tom says, he will be on the Muppet’s Season Premier tomorrow. They go to the Sky Box to get their results.

 

Erin says, the best thing about this was to see the smile on Alek’s face. Erin says, he got to meet with President Obama. They show footage of President Obama dancing. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 8, for a total of 23. Erin says, that’s the highest score of the night. Alek says, he’s learned everything he knows from Lindsay. Erin says, if he knew how to do this it wouldn’t be fair, jokingly. Tom says, Carrie Ann asked if the video footage of Obama was real. Tom says, no, it’s Obama’s face & Donald Trump’s body, & he laughs. (That’s probably not true either.) There’s more to come after the break, Live.

 

We come back to the ballroom with professional dancers. We see highlights & practice sessions for Alexa for her hometown of Ocala, Florida. Her & Mark are dancing the Salsa to Le Lo Lay by Bobby CApo. The audience cheers along as they are dancing & erupts for them when they are finished. Tom says, he thinks Carlos is sweating now.

 

Bruno says, DWTS introduces a new species of feline, she bites & she is wild & wonderful. Carrie Ann says, she set that on fire. Julianne says, she was sexy, strong & sassy. She says, that was a whole different level of commitment. Alexa thanks her. They go to the Sky Box to get their scores.

 

Erin says, she was going to start saying Meow. Erin says, she’s not supposed to be this good in week two. Alexa says, it’s all Mark. She says, they got really connected this week. Erin says, that was insane. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 24. Erin says, they need your votes in order to stay. Tom says, Carlos is already lobbying the wardrobe department to take that costume home also.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for Victor for his hometown of Hidalgo, Mexico. He & Karina are dancing the Jive to La Bamba by Ritchie Valens. The audience cheers along with them as they dance. They erupt for them when they are finished.

 

Carrie Ann if she could just score him on enthusiasm & cuteness he would be getting a 10 from her, but they have to score on other things. Tom says, in four hours he’s calling his doctor, don’t worry. Julianne says, she’s distracted. She says, it was a very fun & festive Jive. She says, he was in a little bit off time. Bruno says, it was like no other Jive he’s seen before. He tells Victor he was like a jumping bean. Victor says, he has to jump a little higher because Karina is taller than him.

 

We come back to the ballroom with Victor & Karina in the Sky Box with Erin. Erin says, it’s going crazy here. She says, before the break we saw Victor & Karina do the Jive. Erin asks Victor if he’s having as much fun as they are having with him? Victor says, yes, & Karina is amazing. He says, without her he wouldn’t be able to make those moves. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 6, Julianne – 5, Bruno – 6, for a total of 17. The audience boos for the scores.

 

We see highlights & practice sessions for Tamar for her hometown of Severn, Maryland. She & Val are dancing the Cha Cha to We Are Family by Sister Sledge. They audience cheers for them while they dance. They erupt when they are finished.

 

Julianne tells Tamar she’s in her element. She says, she loved it more than anything & tells her to work on extending the back of her legs. Bruno says, the dream girls are back in town. He says, he loved it & she finished it. Carrie Ann says, she is something else & in a class of her own. She says, when she did the dancing on her own she’s a show stopper. She tells her to stay herself when she’s in hold as well. Val jokes that Tamar is changing his life. They go to the Sky Box for their scores. Tom says, one couple will be evicted tonight.

 

Erin says, that was a blast & the choreography was insane. Tamar says, no one wants to talk about someone leaving tonight. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 24. She tells her they are tied for the highest score of the night. Tamar & Val do a hand shake. Erin says, vote for them, one couple will be eliminated tonight. More to come after the break, Live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions for Gary for his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He & Anna are dancing the Foxtrot to Wouldn’t It Be Nice by The Beach Boys. The audience cheers & claps along with them while they are dancing. When they are finished the audience erupts for them. Gary says, “I love this place,” & he asks they crowd if they love it? He says, “I’m here to stay.”

 

Bruno says, under Anna’s expert guidance that looked like a Foxtrot. Bruno says, she’s a miracle worker & she’s done a good job. Carrie Ann says, he was right on the line & edge, but he did not miss a step. Gary says, “I like to walk on the edge, that’s one of my hobbies.” Julianne says, she loves that he’s exuding the energy of a 12 year old boy. She says, he’s charming & that was a sweet dance. Gary says, “Thank you, & the scores are going to be great.”

 

Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 6, Julianne – 6, Bruno – 6, for a total of 18. Tom says, Gary & Anna are happy. He says, voting will remain open for 1 hour following tonight’s show. More couple to perform, before sending one home, coming up, Live.

 

Tom welcomes us back to the first night of the Dancing With The Stars two night event. We see professional dancers on the dance floor. We see highlights & practice sessions for Carlos for his hometown of Columbia, Missouri. He & Witney are dancing the Foxtrot to Home by Michael Buble. The audience erupts for them when they are finished. Tom says, very nice. He says, the dance was great & it’s great to see rain in L.A., referring to their prop.

 

Carrie Ann says, she has a cold today & she’s a little out it. She says, he’s a contender. She tells him he was did everything perfectly. Julianne says, he connects with Witney & does everything great & you can’t teach that. She tells him to work on squeezing his shoulder blades. Bruno says, he has a multi-shaded talent. He says, he played to perfection, & they had the tension. He tells him not to confuse the posture with the frame. He says, he’s absolutely delighted with what he’s done. They go to the Sky Box for their scores. Tom says, next week is TV Night.

 

Erin asks him about the pressure of two dances tonight? Carlos says, the Foxtrot is soo slow & he likes to be upbeat. Erin says, they are on at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT tomorrow night. Carlos says, they had to share their time between the two dances. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 24. Erin says, he’s tied with the kitty cat & tied for the lead. Erin says, finishing out tonight’s competition is Bindi & Derek & they will be next, Live.

 

We come back to tonight’s Dancing With The Stars Hometown Glory night with Tom welcoming us back to the ballroom. We see highlights & practice sessions for Bindi for her hometown of the Australia Zoo. Her & Derek are dancing Tango to You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC. The audience goes crazy while they are dancing, & gives them the loudest eruption of the night when they are finished. Tom says, Bindi & Derek, very nice. Tom says, Bindi told her that the song was a personal favorite of her dad’s. She says, she remembers dancing to that song when she was little with her dad, & it means the world to her. Her mom is in tears in the crowd.

 

Julianne says, she’s really excited for her to do the Tango, & she just needs to get it a little more smooth. Bruno tells her she is a rough chick. He says, it’s absolutely surprising, & not to throw away her frame with the lunges.  Carrie Ann says, she rocks. Judge’s scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8, for a total of 25. Tom says, that’s the highest score of the night. Tom tells them to join the other couples on the walkway.

 

Tom says, this is always a tough announcement to make with giving the first elimination of the night. Tom says, the first couple in jeopardy is Chaka & Keo. The audience boos. Erin says, joining them are Gary & Anna. The audience boos again. Tom says, the rest of you are safe. The audience cheers, claps & whistles.

 

Tom says, Chaka & Keo and Gary & Anna, the first couple to be eliminated in Season 21 is Chaka & Keo. The audience boos. Erin says, they have loved having them there. She says, it’s the hard one, & they barely got to know her. Chaka says, it’s been great & she’s met great friends here. Tom says, he really wanted to meet her this season, & he wishes it would have turned out better for her. Chaka says, she feels she did Keo a disservice. She says, he’s one of the best dancers she’s ever seen. Tom tells them to take center stage.

 

The phone numbers are posted on the television. Bindi & Derek finish at the top of tonight’s leader board. Victor & Karina finish at the bottom of the leader board. Tom says, no matter how they finish they still need viewer votes. Voting remains open for 1 hour from now. Tom will be on the Muppet’s tomorrow. Dancing With The Stars will be on tomorrow night at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT. The Season Premier of Castle starts now. Tom says, good night.
