  1. Makosi has made her first moves in the attempt to get nominated. Last night when in the bedroom she insisted the lights were turned off so people could sleep. This morning she turned them on before everyone was up, claiming she was scared of the dark - and becoming embroiled in an argument with Maxwell! The other early story was white Witch Mary asking to leave after just a couple of hours because she believed the gnomes were alive!
  2. WARNING: Some adult content! Davina opens the show with the words "You didn't think Big Brother would ever be nice? Did you?" before the titles roll - and quite nice titles they are! We are informed tonight that we will discuss the identity of the unfortunate 13th housemate - and the reason why they are "the unluckiest housemate ever". A tour of the house follows. The stairs are back! The dining room table is made up of pieces, which will be taken away as HMs leave. The sofa has been changed to the preview pics - it's now an orange thing that arrived earlier this morning. The diary room chair is massive, making the HMs look like little kids. The loft is also revealed - just a small den really. It's been repainted green, as opposed to pink in the preview pics. So on to the HMs: First in multi-minoritied Derek.. He's 40, black, gay, pro-hunting - and most shockingly, Tory! Nurse Lesley is next in, complety with rubber nurses outfit. She believes other girls are jealous of her! Brunette girl Sam, 23, is next in. Addicted to sex, but not a slag. Goes to Oxford Brooks Uni. Intended to take vibrators into the house, but wore them out before hand! Next is Londoner Maxwell. Typhical cockney geezer, and he'll probably be the early favourite (which generally is the kiss of death!) He plays the crowd well upon entering the house. Vanessa is next in - this year's not so bright girl. Claims she can turn any gay man straight! Anthony is in a 70's dance troupe and describes himself as "very good looking". He milks the crowd with dance moves on the way in - but he takes so long he ends up being booed in. Roberto, a 32 year old Italian teacher is next in. He fancies himself a bit and claims to have never gone without sex more than 2 weeks. Every year we have one - and this year Makosis has the name you've never heard of. From Zimbabwe, she was weighted on in her early life, giving herself princess attributes. Things the camera will love her and loves talking about her self. Craig is next - and I couldn't possibly repeat his introduction. Swears every other word (something Makosi said she hated!) and has his own hairdressing salon at 19 (but has a mullet!). Talked his Dad out of applying so he could get in himself. Next in is Mary - from Atlantis. She's been abducted by aliens seven times, but not for 18 months - and is a white witch. She arrives on her broomstick with a black cape - and is the second to be booed in by the crowd. She waits so long at the bottom of the stairs for the door to open BB has to asked the HMs to let her in! Forget Makosi, next in is Science, 22. He sees himself as musics next big thing. As he nervously enters, the other HMs try to be polite when he introduces himself. Maxwell asks "Science, as in Maths, English and Science?" Next in is 22 year old Saskia. People think she's a lapdancer, but she just does promo and some glamour work. Things all immigrants want to blow up the country. With 12 HMs in they believe that's it, but they are unaware that it's "Thirteen housemates. Unlucky for One!" Finally, it's Kamel, born in Turkey. A modern muslim - he eats pork and believes in sex before marriage. Camp, but seems OK. Then he turns up in a big red and gold ethnic dress and stilletos! It's back to the house to discover the identity of the "13th housemate". With all HMs in the internal doors are opened and the HMs go straight for the bedroom. One HM is then called to the diary room, with Makosi winning the race to the door. She is then informed she has made her first mistake and by coming to the diary room is automatically up for eviction next week. However, she can save herself by completing a secret mission. Next week the HM(s) with the most nominations will be immune from eviction. If Makosi earns the most nominations, she will be immune (and presumably, all other HMs will be up for eviction!). She must keep this secret, so avoids HMs questions upon leaving the diary room chair. BB then covers her tracks by saying Makosi has just won the HMs a luxury first night party. Not so nice of BB when Makosi is trying to become unpopular with the housemates! Early prediction: Maxwell to win! First evictee - tough, but I think it might be the witch! Full summary of live launch show at http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds7629.html
  3. More info ahead of the live launch tonight. Some teasing info about the 13 housemates - one of which will become the "unluckiest housemate ever":
  4. Thankyou. There are a couple of things wrong with the plan though. It's now clear the diary room has moved - it's now on the right side of the main living area, while the lounge is double aspect with another set of doors opening to the garden. The full plan should be up tomorrow night at http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother
  5. I've taken the BB5 plan and examined the photos to come up with the most accurate floor plan I can - and I've included the BB5 plan for comparison. Starting at the top - we know the stairs are back on the outside, and there is a door as the main entrance on the inside. Presumably there are stairs behind this, or possibly a lift. I may be wrong, but I believe the diary room will remain in the same place, hidden amongst a wall of mirrors. The kitchen is clearly pretty much in the same place - but much longer on a straight wall. I assume the dining area will replace the old lounge. The bedroom is divided from the kitchen by a glass wall, and is in the area of the old bedsit. I've positioned the toilet where the bedsit one was located and tried to guess it's shape from the pics provided. There is a door by the main patio doors, but I'm not sure where this goes. It could be a secret room, or possibly just alternative access outside - or just be a toilet. The lounge is in the old bedroom, and we know there are two toilets so I've kept the one from BB5 - but it's unclear whether the toilet attaches to the lounge or main part of the house. The shower room moves outside and the pics suggest a flush wall behind it, while I think the new plunge pool will be in the same location as last year's spa. The store room stays put, and I'm unsure about the loft. The pics suggest it isn't a full storey off the ground, so there can't be anything underneath it - so I'm guessing it might be in the area between the lounge and main house.
  6. The bedroom, seperated from the main kitchen-diner by just a glass wall. The lounge is located in a seperate room off the garden, while the only room to offer any privacy apart from the toilet and diary room is a secret loft, accessed via the garden. It's also been confirmed 13 housemates will enter the house during the live launch show - but this will prove unlucky for one - who will become the "unluckiest housemate ever". No details yet, but the identity of this housemate will be unveiled in the first week. It's possible they could be evicted after just a few hours in the house, be made a mole under the control of Big Brother and viewers - or just be singled out for punishment!
  7. Digital Spy now has more images: http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds7619.html The only images so far unreleased are of the bedroom. We know this is seperated from the lounge by a glass wall, but don't know how it looks. Earlier rumours suggested their would actually be no beds - the housemates would in fact sleep in an inflatable room!
  8. Even more, including kitchen, lounge and a very strange diary room at: http://www.bigbrotherwebsite.net/news.php?...t_from=&ucat=1& courtesy of Heat Magazine.
  9. More publicity shots of the garden, pool and bathroom now up at http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds7618.html
  10. More pics of the house have now emerged. These confirm that this year there is no bathroom - all showers and sinks are located outside. You can also clearly see that last year's bedroom, located in the garden, is now the kitchen. It is rumoured, though unconfirmed, that the bedroom is now next to the main living area, seperated from it only by a glass wall. EDIT: The photos are up at http://www.bigbrotherwebsite.net/news.php?...t_from=&ucat=1& They also point out the recurring theme of three - three showers, three sinks, sofas that split into three, three boxes in the garden - and a rumoured three secret rooms. Also added is this year the walls will move - so possibly the house will get smaller as more HMs are evicted. The theme this year is the house will be aspirational for the viewers, but uncomfortable for the housemates. This may tie in with earlier rumours of it being a "house of fun" - with part of the house being upside down!
  11. Talking of time zones, is the new US house still in LA? It caused problems when E4 screened it in the UK last time as they delayed the live feed 16-hrs so when it was 6pm here, it was 6pm in the house. They also screened the eviction the next night at 9pm UK time, around the same time CBS screen it - but due to the East-West time difference those watching the live feed saw the evictee leave three hours earlier!
  12. BB Aus usually runs about 12 weeks - they've now been in two weeks - but IIRC it's been extended to 14 weeks.
  13. A new ad has debuted this weekend giving us glimpses of the house for the first time. Hopefully they'll be up somewhere soon. Also, the tagline "What happens next? You Decide!" was used. No idea what it could mean yet! See the full ad at http://www.bigblagger.co.uk The sixth UK Big Brother begins on Friday night.
  14. Apparantly they are effectively cutting the feeds around 11.30pm local time each night. This is when the "Uplate" programme which has live action from the house airs - and also when they stop updating the website until the following morning. http://www.behindbigbrother.com The Australian Big Brother producers have a really strange attitude - it's as if they don't want any fans!
  15. An earlier rumour (though I actually heard about the Sun/Owl house thing before this!) WELCOME TO THE HOUSE OF FUN! This year's Big Brother house will be like no other, designed to confuse and disorientate the housemates by turning the notion of living upside down - LITERALLY!. No standing under showers for your daily clean up - the water will spring up from grates in the floor. And if you thought that was strange, all the sinks will be upside down with just cold water - making washing up virtually impossible. Doors will be hung back to front and open the wrong way And forget comfortable beds - this year there are no bedrooms - but there is an inflatable room which will have to do. This years housemates will be challenged in more fun games - but the threat of EVIL still remains! See: http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds7583.html
  16. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the Jackpot for this season? Firstly, regarding the runner up. I always preferred the idea of only the winner getting a prize, with the rest walking away with nothing - but I think the concept of Head of House means it's quite an achievement to reach the final two - and often to get their you have to do things that prevent you from winning. Now on to the Jackpot itself. I think it's now appropriate for the jackpot to rise to $1,000,000 - in line with Survivor and some other shows. However, producers can increase the jackpot but can add in a twist or two if they don't want to pay all of it. The most likely - and most suitable for BBUSA - is to have a weekly Prize Fund Challenge in which the HMs must work together to maintain the prize fund - as we did here in the UK last year. For example, each week housemates play to save $100,000. Fail the task and the prize goes down. 10 failures means the winner gets nothing. (In conjunction with this, the runner up gets 10% of the final jackpot). Big Brother Australia have taken this idea but rather than competing in tasks, $5000 is knocked off the $1m everytime one of Big Brother's rules is broken. However, this wouldn't really work in the US version as the TV show never actually acknowledges the voice of Big Brother (over the tannoys, in the diary room) - so it be difficult to illustrate the fines to viewers.
  17. (If this press story is true - speculation is Endemol may have constructed the story in the attempt to overshadow the launch of rival reality show Celebrity Love Island)
  18. THE TWINS HAVE BEEN BUSTED: Yesterday one of the Logans had an injury - and when the other one came in they put the bandage in the wrong place and he refused to show them the injury. Story: http://www.bigbrother.3mobile.com.au/news/.../article_82.asp Diary: http://www.bigbrother.3mobile.com.au/diary/day_8.asp
  19. Big Brother Australia follows the standard international rules that BB USA dropped in series 2 with the introduction of Head of House - and these specifically include no discussing nominations or past contestants. Each week each HM nominates two HMs for eviction, with the top three facing a public phone vote to determine the evictee. It's unclear what last week's task winner influence over nominations will be - but as there has been absolutely no reference to the term "Head of House" I don't think they are going completly down that route.
  20. SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE! The fifth series of Big Brother Australia has launched - and they've nicked the twin idea from BB USA. Twins David and Greg will alternate in the house under their shared middle name of Logan, with the other staying in a purpose built isolation house within the Big Brother compound. They only have to survive two weeks without being found out to both enter the house - but if their secret is discovered they will continue in the game as a single person - nominated and evicted as one. See: http://www.bigbrother.3mobile.com.au or fansite: http://www.behindbigbrother.com P.S. The UK series begins May 27th: check out http://channel4.com/bigbrother or http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk
  21. These pics were posted on a UK forum a couple of weeks ago and the general conclusion was they were a hoax - the biggest giveaway is the lack of two-way mirrors for the cameras!
  22. Some even better new today - E4 which was previously available only via subscription packages is being made a Free to Air channel on Freeview from May - so along with live streaming from the UK house and spin-off programmes E-Forum, Nominations Uncut, Diary Room Uncut and of course Big Brother's Little Brother, we'll be able to watch the US version of Big Brother 6 later in the year once our series concludes - and possibly the live feeds!
  23. http://www.in4mer.com/programming_e4.asp?p...tE4SpringSummer Channel 4's "In4mer" website has confirmed the sixth series of Big Brother USA will air in the UK on digital station E4, probably beginning after our series finishes in August. E4 screened the fourth US series - and ironically though not available in the US, we could watch "live" action from the house via our television - though on something like a 16-hr delay to account for the time difference. This did cause some problems though - the main shows were shown at 9pm, but due to the East/West time-difference in the US those watching the live feed on TV saw the eviction three or four hours earlier. It's not confirmed if the live feeds will be available this year, but chances are they will.
  24. OK - let's clear things up. The images are for Big Brother 2 - which aired back in 2001. As in the US, we are now on our sixth series, and in fact moved to a brand new house for series 3 - which has been virtually completly remodelled for each season since. No real information for the sixth series yet - it is expected to begin on May 27th - traditionally it begins on the Friday before the Spring Bank Holiday, which fall on the last Monday in May - and last anything between 11 and 15 weeks. The contract expires at the end of this series both with C4 and it's current location Elstree (filmed at The George Lucas Stage) - though it's reported C4 have signed up for three more series. It's almost certain the house will move to a new location next year.
